IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Imagine walking into your worst nightmare, Saw Theme Park. As you stand in the queue line for any ride, Billy the puppet says he wants to play a game, and then explains the terrifying ride to you. Each ride is themed after a trap from one of five Saw movies, and some are all new "traps" made just for the park. There was a little intro, I hope this park gets some good comments rather than bad comments. Some of the scenery on the ride will be unrealistic, and is not made from the saw movies. I did my best to use some custom scenery I had for the rides and also some custom rides (none of which are made by me). Ill update as much as can. Here are the first screenshots. SCR7.BMP The Body Brutalizer, it "cuts" you once you drop through the area with blood. SCR1.BMP The entrance to the Saw Theme Park. SCR6.BMP The Saw Movie Cinema, plays all five Saw movies. SCR5.BMP The Pendulum, based off a trap from Saw V. It's lacking scenery, I'm gonna put more. SCR4.BMP The Torture Pit, just some scenery. SCR3.BMP The Head Turner, based off a trap in Saw III.
monkeyoverlord71 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Nice idea but I have some suggestions. 1.Put a roof on the entrance, it will look better. 2.Bank the corners on the coaster and maybe make it longer. 3.Support the land that is floating next to the drop tower (with the blood pouring down). 4.Get rid of some of the queue line tv monitors, there are way too many so it just looks messy. 5.Try to put your own buildings round the stations and queues. 6.Maybe put a building covering the 3D-Cinema? 7.Put in bins and lamps. 8.Put in resteraunt/s and toilets. 9.Generally more random theming everywhere. 10.Don't try to do all I say at once, infact don't do all I say. It's your park and you should not let me get away with the cold hearted bullying hidden in the constructive criticism above. 11.Help me with my ranting problems as displayed above.
IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Thanks for the suggestions, i dont take it as bullying lol. Ill probably do most or all of your suggestions. Also, there is food places and and restrooms, they just have buildings over them, you can probably see them in the picture if you look closely.
dr.gumbo Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Bah! I've heard enough of the SAW franchise to last me a life time.
IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 lol, next year there will be a Saw 6. Ok, I have to redo the whole park since the plug to my computer came out of socket so im gonna remove the old pictures and update the new ones. The only thing not changing is the entrance.
monkeyoverlord71 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 ^Sorry for going off topic but when you said saw 6 I remembered it was filmed last month and my friend's friend has a copy of it. It's released in a year. . Anyway, sorry about your park but at least now you can sort anything major you didn't like.
IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Oh, your friend's friend has a copy? That's awesome. Anyway, I'm putting the updated park up.
Thelegendarymatthew Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Ok, Saw at Thrope. Saw Revolution 2009, now Saw the park. Is it popular around here or something?
IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Here's an update. SCR3.BMP Blade, not based off of any Saw traps, and the river rapid ride, Acid Burn. Loosely based off of a trap in Saw III SCR1.BMP Nail Bomb, based off of bombs from Saw V.
monkeyoverlord71 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 ^^It's a marketing campaign concluding in Jigsaw becoming president of the U.S.A. ^Looks alright but remember what I said before.
IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 I will, I hope it's better than it was before.
Jcoaster Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Im a little skeptical of the themeing. I mean how much can you do with it before it gets repetative.
DBru Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Okay, I'm not trying to sound mean, and I appreciate all of your hard work, but I'd like you to think about some of these things... You seem to be rushing your work; randomly placing a ride, and then moving on to the next project. Don't do that. Spend a good amount of time on each ride, and then show us that. Remember: Quality outweighs quantity. Also, your ride layouts are completely unrealistic, and I'm sorry, but quite horrendous. Your coasters are full of sharp, unbanked turns, quick drops at high speeds, and that rapids ride has a huge drop that leads into an incredibly small turn. These things just don't work. *Think* about how the layout would be if it were built in real life, and then check the forces to make sure nothing is too extreme. Right now, the park needs lots of work, BUT, if you are dedicated to make a good finished project, I'm sure you can do it! Good luck! -Daniel
the ghost Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 ^ Agreed, exactly what I wanted to say but better. Suggestions so far .Work on Buildings such as stations and restaurants,. . Don't randomly place down a ride and also try to make the ride at least somewhat themed. . Try to work on and plan the park to include individual sections of the park and certain ideas to go into the section. . Also Im not trying to sound mean but I do not suggest doing movie parks as that leaves very littler room for creativity and you must be sure you have the exact right scenery to pull off the park.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I suggest that, for the acid river, you make the drops a few dips, not one big drop. And make sure it has some room to slow down; it'd break your back to go around a corner that fast! Like monkeyoverlord71 said, you should put more facilities (i.e., restrooms, info centers, A.T.M.s, etc) around your park. Just try to do some of these suggestions and it'll be a great park! Keep up the good work!
IStillPlayRCT2 Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 I have decided to postpone this project until I learn how to make really good parks.
Thelegendarymatthew Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Oh don't get me started on the whole post poneing issue. You get better by experience, you can't instantly become good. Look at the people at New Element, it took me 6 years to even get close to good for there site. So if you think your going to make good parks like that anytime soon I highly doubt it. You do need a sense of realism for your parks. Basing your parks off episodes, movies and other shows is not the best starter idea because your more limited in your work. If you start a Six Flags or Disney park your also limited aswell. If you want to make a custom park you are unlimited to the rides and scenery. Also if you want to get better your going to need to look at other great parks. Anything made by DBru, BRTeller, me, and a load of other people on this site. I think you can achieve the goal of making your parks better! You just need to catch two things and you should gain experience faster. 1. Focus on realism, so thats pretty much your big one. 2. Keep your park stable, don't go overboard with the same stuff. If you have any questions please PM me. I may not respond to TPR mail right away but on Coaster-net I probably will.
