Mr. Starr Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 So some speculation has been talked about for a while ever since Deja Vu and SWF were removed, leaving a large amount of unused land behind. There were some rumors of a new coaster, maybe a Dive Machine, but I don't see that happening. A few days ago a signed appeared outside of Space Shuttle America, a current SBNO attraction. Now a couple of days ago another sign appeared near Deja Vu's old spot. There have been thoughts over at Sfgamworld.com of a SplashBattle and I wanted to continue them to the TPR community. All photos contributed by SFGAmworld.com Sign by DV's old spot Sign outside of SSA
Airtime&Gravity Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Teaser signs have also shown up where Deja vu used to be. Screamscape mentions a Mack Splash battle going there, and I'd expect to see a Deluge or half pipe going where the space shuttle/go-karts are.
Mr. Starr Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Hurricane Harbor expansion. Enough said. In Deja Vu's/SWF's old spots?
kumba830 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 On another forum... someone said they talked to an employee and he said... Space Shuttle America: Replaced by high thrill Deja vu: Water ride connecting Vu's and SWF's spots
krakenman13 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^What kind of "high thrill" could you fit in SSA's spot? With are luck were getting a third mouse to add to are collection.
coasterdude5 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 By "high thrill" he might mean "waterpark high thrill" which would be a deluge clone or a halfpipe. As for Deja Vu & SWF's old spot, I'd say the splash battle idea works.
VivaLaVibora Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 A Mega Wedgie or a Water coaster is a high thrill. Maybe the Splash Battle will be so big that it goes through a tunnel underneath the walkway, and near where Splash Water Falls was. Those boats alone look huge. Just look at Dollywood's attraction they have.
mcjaco Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Hey, guess what? We have a thread for super dooper rumors, and speculation. It's called the The Rumor Superthread. Locked.
Wes Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 ^ Respectfully, it has been "by the rules" to post a thread when there's confirmation that an attraction is going in, whether it be footers, an article, leaked blueprints, or a teaser sign. The sign is up, it's fair game now.
JamesMC Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 From talking and listening to people in line (and a couple various ride ops over the years)- I have repeatedly gathered the same basic info: 1.) Mack Spash Battle-2009 Pirate Theme 2.) New water coaster for Hurricane Harbor (which will expand where Space Shuttle America and Go-Karts are located) most likely 2009 3.) No new coaster til 2010-2011 but it will FINALLY be a BIG one.
krakenman13 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 They would probaly need to take something down in 2010-2011 becasue i don't see anywhere else where theres enough room for a dicent coaster after this Splashbattle and HH expansion.
VivaLaVibora Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Iron Wolf, Demon, or the Whizzer. Iron Wolf is the least popular, and than Demon. Whether a ride like Demon is for families or not, you could always get another family ride to replace that. If it doesn't get the lines, it doesn't get the lines. Sure, all rides eventually get the lines on the most packed days, but we are talking about the whole season, and not just during the the park is jammed, and Demon has a 15 minutes line. It's way too early to talk 2010, and 2011. Those water coasters are something else at least the one I've been on. You get airtime on those things as if it were a hyper coaster, but you are in water. Who's know though that it would even be a water coaster? It could be the Noah's Ark Stingray type of ride instead as they put some of those in 2008.
