sfkk339 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 this is my 3rd coaster and my 1st wooden and it's a clasic out and back! Hope you like please comment! Kentucky River Rampage.nltrack overview of the nice coaster beside the Kentucky River. Down the first hill!
DBru Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Well, I'm definitely seeing improvement on your coasters! There are still some problems here, though: -When building a woodie, slant the station/brake-run downward slightly, so you don't have to use friction-wheels. Wooden coasters do not use those (with the exception being Intamins) -There is a red G at the top of the second hill; try to avoid those And I think that's about it for this one...good work!
Théo the little french Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 It was a cute woody!^^ Very funny with some big air time!^^ And as said Dbru a red spike on the second hill^^
NASA Guy Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Wooden coasters do not use those (with the exception being Intamins) Then what is this?:
jarmor Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 It's tradition that wooden coasters dont use friction wheels but it isnt written in stone they cannot use them. I know six flags over georgias Georgia Cyclone uses them and it is a modern day coaster. So you can def use them but traditionally speaking it isnt a common practice. Heck wooden coasters even had curved stations!
rolercstrluvr Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 just like the Santa Cruz Giant dipper has a curved station.
angryemobeaver Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Cedar Point's Blue Streak's station is very un-level and crooked. SFKK339: the coaster was pretty good, there was one red spot, the breaks were a little short, and the ride could of been a little bit longer. But for one of your first coasters, great job!
