pacoasterrider
I'm starting to think that people really don't like SFA. trust me, it is not worth it. I was bored after about 2 hours. It'd be a great park if it was clean and well staffed. The line for Sros did not move, Batwing took 5 mins to dispatch a train, and jokers jinx breaks down every 20 mins. It's just not up to quality, and the park is falling apart. I think you could go to Hershey instead of SFA, and you will LOVE you're trip much more then going to SFA, i promise
Dietcokevan
^ I really only want to go to SFA, because its on the way to KD and BGE.
pacoasterrider
Hershey is worth going out of the way . I know what you mean with that, but Hershey is the way to go
KDCOASTERFAN
SFA all the way! There is BGE and KD near SFA, so if you don't like SFA (which hardly anyone does but me) just go down to KD for the rest of the day, then you'll be closer to BGE for the next day and will get to spend more time at that park! If you go to SFA, I recomend getting there early and head straight to Batwing, the lines for that coaster reach up to 45 min to 1 hr long. Then go to Superman and Joker's Jinx. Those also have pretty long lines all day. The rest of the park is a walk-on. Well I used to support & defend SFA & it was a decent park up until 2002 when SFI decided that they'd focus all of their attention(and capex budget) on SFMM,SFGRADV & SFGRAM & the park has been steadily going downhill ever since. Still making that trip would be worth it for KD & BGE however.
Dietcokevan
Hershey is worth going out of the way . I know what you mean with that, but Hershey is the way to go I got a GREAT idea! How about this trip? 1st stop: Hershey 2nd stop: SFGAvd 3rd stop: SFA 4th stop: KD 5th stop: BGE How does that sound?
Thom25
It's a great trip - too bad it isn't ours. Since Knoebels has pay per ride, I'd stop at Knoebels after Hershey since you drive by it on the way to SFGA. If I didn't care about credits, I'd pass on SFA - they place sux imo. Dietcokevan
^ So I've heard that SFA is horrible, but I wanna try my first Intamin Giga coaster, my first Vekoma Flying Dutchman, and my first Premier LIM.
Thom25
^I understand - but please - don't assume ALL Intamins are like the one at SFA - cause RoS at SFNE is nothing like it and light-years better. Regarding the other rides you want to try - you've been warned (sorry) - But like all of you - you need to draw your own opinion. Keep us posted on what you think. Carnage
^ So I've heard that SFA is horrible, but I wanna try my first Intamin Giga coaster, my first Vekoma Flying Dutchman, and my first Premier LIM. That would be a hyper, not a giga. Personally I don't think anything at SFA is all that good. Superman is "ok", but not nearly as good as the one at SFNE. If you're going past it anyways, then sure it's worth a stop. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it. And I definetly wouldn't pass up going to a much better park like Hershey for it. sixflagsguy5
That's definately a do-able trip, but I'd double check with whoever you're going with so that they understand you want to do all these parks. I don't understand why so many people don't like the S:ROS at SFA. It seems like a lot of people let the poor park atmosphere ruin their ride experience. In my opinion, the two are completely unrelated. I can go to a completely run down park in a ghetto and hate the park, but if there's an intamin hyper with tons of airtime I'd still like the coaster. S:ROS at SFA is somewhat boring in the helexes, but besides that it's a great ride. If I were you, I wouldn't skip out on a park just because somebody on the internet didn't like the ride. Dietcokevan
^^ I know that SFNE's SRoS is a million times better!! I just wanna try something new! Plus its on the way to KS and BGE.
pacoasterrider
Hershey is worth going out of the way . I know what you mean with that, but Hershey is the way to go I got a GREAT idea! How about this trip? 1st stop: Hershey 2nd stop: SFGAvd 3rd stop: SFA 4th stop: KD 5th stop: BGE How does that sound? Sounds really good to me. I'd rather hit Dorney then SFA but you can have a good day at SFA, My only trip there, i was bored and done all the rides by 2pm. I got on Jokers, SROS, and Batwing within 30 mins of the park opening, and by the afternoon Sros was a 2 hr wait, and all the other rides were occasionally breaking down. I would watch out if you want to go to SFA during the day, rides like superman get packed. I'd get there early and head right to Superman, and hit up a front or back seat. But this sounds like a fun trip. Nothing beats flipping over about 100ft off the ground and boom you're flying (batwing). That part is awesome, but the rest of the ride is kinda boring untill the rolls at the end. SRoS is boring through the helixs, but it isn't to bad of a ride. Jokers is cool, when it's open, and Roar is alright. Just be ready for a horriable staff and downtime on rides at SFA. The other parks are all excelent tho, and that's a much better trip then you had planned. If you can get into SFA for free then i'd stop there and just hit the rides and go. btp1
While my "home park" maybe SFNE, I would skip it and go south if it gave you a chance to visit parks like BGE or Hershey. While I have never been the Hershey, everything I hear about it is glowing and it looks like the park is excellent! As for BGE, I can speak from personal experience that it is a tremendous park. It is so pretty could not ride anything and still have a great time (that may be stretching it...but you get the point). As far as the S:RoS debate is concerned, I don't necessarily think that the one at SFA is bad, it's just that the one SFNE is so unbelievable that it is an unfair comparison. The one at SFA is still a good coaster without a doubt, but it's like trying to compare a nice Ford to a Ferrari. The Ford can be nice and get the job done, but it still can't hold a candle to the Ferrari (hope people understand my reference). I think that the two get compared unfairly simply because they share the same name.
pacoasterrider
S:Ros at SFA is one of my top coasters. I just have to rank Storm Runner higher, and i hear Fahrenheit is even better. I wouldn't pass up Hershey. SFA is alright, if the staff was very nice then it would be much better. It's just asphalt and coasters. I wouldn't pay to go back again, but if you can go for free, go for it! I don't know if you could get a full day out of it tho. You will not be disappointed with Hershey
jamesdillaman
^ The only problem with KD is the KI problem all over again: They don't have a standout coaster. Volcano is pretty good, but no ride that really makes you can't wait to get back there. BGE looks great (although I can't comment fairly because I haven't been), but SFNE's Superman: ROS is worth the trip out there. You could also stop by Brooklyn's Coney Island on your way to SFGAdv from SFNE. -James Dillaman
redfoot12
^ Not a fan of Dominator? I just want to mention that Wild One at SFA is an excellent woodie and doesn't get some of the recognition it deserves. I can't believe people prefer Roar to that one. Jayjay719
I love The Wild One. It's my favorite coaster at Six Flags America. I didn't care for the others that much, though I did like Two Face.
VivaLaVibora
I've been to all of the parks you're considering and that's a really tough decision, especially if you've never been to either park. Both parks don't really have much besides their different S:ROS coasters. I liked both of the S:ROS's, but the one at SFNE is much better than the one at SFA. Either way, you're in for a good ride with lots of airtime. From my experience, SFNE has longer lines than SFA, but I've only been to each park once, so I might be a little off. The SROS at SFA is so darn awesome. I haven't been on the SFNE one. The problem you might have at SFA is just stuff not being open. One ride could be opened one day like the Avalance (Flying Bobs ride), and than the next day, it's closed in the end part of June. Or you could have the Invertigo (Two-Face) not be open either. You can have Skull Mountain being up and down the whole day. Joker's Jinx might open later. Batwing might run with only one train. Basically, the parks rides aren't a guaranteed thing. If you look on the website, and you want to ride 10 rides at the park, good luck with getting on all of them. Six Flags America is an awesome park if the rides were open, but it is a quite SMALL Six Flags park. I really like Joker's Jinx, Batwing, SROS, Wild One, and the Avalanche the hours it was open. Again, the Invertigo might be a problem getting on.
jamesdillaman
^Not a fan of Dominator? To be honest I liked Superman: Krypton Coaster at SFFT and B:TDK at SFNE better. Although I've only ridden it when it was at GL. If they did any trackwork it may be better now, but was quite rough (for a B&M, at least) the last couple times I rode it. -James Dillaman

SFNE's version is a custom layout so that's why it's percieved as the "end all be all" of the three while SFA's is a mirrored clone of the DL ride. It's difficult to ask for trip advice on the net I agree because naturally the locals/fanboys etc. whatever you want to call them are trying to defend their home parks at all costs by encouraging the person seeking advice to vist that park over the alternative options listed by the individual seeking the advice so it really comes down to what you're looking for in a park trip vs what others say about the quality of the parks in general.
