larrygator
Robb - Looks great you must have some rabid monkeys drinking Jolt cola working through the night to get this done.
robbalvey
^ Yup there were at least 4 monkeys that I can think of! --Robb
coasterdude5
Looks great Robb, I even saw a couple of my trip reports in there, thanks for adding them. The only thing I found when using the index is when you sort by country this is shown at the top: --Test Park 1 Test Test Adventure World, Bibra Lake, Western Australia, Australia Wet 'n' Wild Water World, Oxenford, Queensland, Australia This might have already been brought up but I thought I'd mention it. gisco
Robb, All the rollercoaster and ride photos for the Disneyland rides are blank pages as well. We are aware of this. I have partially fixed this already. If you look under the old index there was no pictures either. The first step in creating the new park pages was to bring over the information from the old. The second step was to add more content and add new parks. That is what we are in the middle of now. Over time we will list all the major rides at a park with pictures. 307
Hey Robb! Thanks for including a bunch of our TRs! I noticed that La Ronde didn't have a page, but I remember checking out pics from it on the site before... so I'm assuming it was there at some point, maybe was overlooked in the switch. Looking great!
robbalvey
^ Ahh! Good catch. One of us will be sure to add that park to the list. --Robb
JimmyBo
Great stuff so far Robb and all you mods who are working hard at this. I think will be my new favorite thing to browse on when I look at TPR everyday. I'm going to be annoying and ask why isn't any parks from my Texas trip last year on the park pages? Just kidding and I know you are working hard and making this thing go live. Good stuff and keep it up. Will there be a Robb and Elissa review of each of the parks on the park index page as well? Coaster Sim. Fan
I know doing things like this can be a lot of work, but its definitely worth the work at the end. Its looking good so far. Those links should be able to work in both FF and IE. I know I have used jump tags like those before on web pages and they work on both FF and IE. Try making them like a1 instead of just a that might do the trick. If you need any help fell free to ask I have worked on some custom content management systems before. vistaway
Looks great. I can't imagine how much work this has been. Anyway, a few small things I noticed: Canada's Wonderland - Google satellite image link doesn't work - The park links from the individual ride pages (such as http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=207&linkid=2089) are not valid links Centreville http://www.centreisland.ca/ is missing Marineland - Google satellite image not working Also, French accented characters don't seem to be displaying properly. I think it's because you have charset=utf-8. It works if you change the encoding to Western though... Andy
steel
It looks really good. Maybe you could have a comment section so that members could also share their opinions about the rides (like TN's database). That way people planning trips to those parks could find out what to expect. Even a "Rate this Ride" function or something like that. But that's my only suggestion. Keep it up. TPDave
I've just copied Knotts over from the old database.

That's actually planned for "Phase 2" of the park index project. I think it will be similar to how Trip Advisor works. But one thing at a time.... BTW, has anyone tried using the Search function on this new page? --Robb
astroworldfan1
^ Yes, I have. It makes searching for parks so much easier than ever before. The new Parks Index looks really professional. -Tatum
robbalvey
^ The goal was to keep is very simple and also keep it looking pretty much the same as it was before, just add a lot more content and better navigation and functionality. Hopefully we've succeeded in that! --Robb
coasterdude5
The search works great as far as I can tell. When you search "Six Flags" it displays all of the parks, updates, a video, and then it shows some photos related to X and the Thomas press event. Does the search bring up the most recent photos posted? It seems like a cool feature. Everything looks good. Still simple, though, which is good. Vffreak07
May I suggest that people who do the "____________'s ongoing park thread" have their own part? I think that'd be a good way to find updates on that park.
robbalvey
^ That's actually a very good idea! I'm hoping the "suggest a park/ride" feature will go online today or tomorrow and we can get people here to start testing that out too. --Robb
nagro5
Can we send in more POVs of a ride that has already been added?
robbalvey
^ We currently have something in the works for video, but it probably won't be ready for a couple more months. At the moment, just upload your videos to the "Professional Amateur Videographers Forum." That's where most of the video links point to. --Robb
nagro5
I just noticed that if you don't click the link that's in the first post it doesn't have all the parks on the list. Like if you click the "Park Index" that's on the top of the home page it takes you to the old park index page, not the one that y'all are working on. Just letting you know. astroworldfan1
Adventureland Park doesn't work for me. I've tried it on 2 different computers, but it didn't work on both of them. It may just be me. I don't really know. -Tatum

Once you finish it will it be for just theme park videos, or can it be any videos you have? (Within reason)

I'm really confused by what you are saying. What link that you "don't click" are you talking about? This park index isn't live yet, it's just in beta testing. So the link on the front page navigation bar hasn't been updated and that's on purpose. Once all the bugs are fixed and we are ready to go live we'll update those links. Is that what you're talking about? --Robb
