sam06pr
So while reading screamscape I found this article www.otbeach.com/news/resorts-and-fun-activities--11/29-of-the-best-water-parks-in-the-world--460.html It mentions some unique parks around the world. I feel that this article may have gotten some facts wrong, but oh well. Maybe they should revise it to include Aquatica and that new one in the canary Islands Now what got me excited was the last park, which is "Las Cascadas de Aguadilla" (the water falls of Aguadilla) Aguadilla is my home town, well sort of, but anyways...I remember going to this water park when I was kid and it was the best. I even like it better than Aquatica for sentimental reasons. The best rides there are "rio loco" and "el cosmo". I remember never being tall enough for "la serpiente" and "el cosmo" and when I was tall enough I chickened out. But a few years later on got on all of them. Man that was fun and thrilling. "El cosmo" was so long and fun. I was going to go this past Xmas but it was closed. I wonder why since Puerto Rico has warm weather year round (average temp of 86 degrees) So I am already planning to go this summer see if I can visit and snap some pictures. Here is there website: www.parqueacuaticolascascadas.com/home.nxg Anyways. What do you all think of the article?
VivaLaVibora
I don't understand why they include a closed down waterpark. They say these waterparks are great, and you can't go to this one. I don't think they show enough pictures of the places. For the Six Flags waterpark, all they have is a video of a wavepool. That doesn't get me to want to go to that park. I really want to know what they have, but it's just not enough information. I go to the website, and they don't have many pictures. I'm a visual person, and words don't do rides justice. Yeah I thought the sam way about having a closed dwon water park on the list. I am a visual person too, so it is hard to see the parks being interesting, so I guess we just have to look harder for the pictures lol

metrock
A few thoughts: Sunway Lagoon - Not as exciting as they made it out to be as far as the water attractions go. But visually, it was a beautiful place to visit. Wild Wadi- The only "Disney quality" water park I have been to. Simply an amazing water park. By far, some of the best customer service I have had anywhere (even Disneyland). I grabbed a bite to eat at one of those walk up window places and as I was eating, someone came by to see if everything was ok. And then as I was leaving, they rushed over to throw out my trash! Wild Rivers- So glad to see this water park on the list. Now, I might be a little biased because I grew up with it ... but it is still one of my favorite water parks. Much better than the over rated Raging Waters. It is so sad that this will be the last season. However, with the housing market and economy going south, I wonder if The Irvine Co will extend the lease once again (it was supposed to close last season). To me it just makes no sense to build anything there. Even businesses.
the ghost
I work at wild rivers and am glad to say that not only is there aan 85% chance (according to manager) thgat we still have at least one year and a new Wild Rivers park is being built in rthe Great Park. VivaLaVibora
Which one on the list is closed? Ocean Dome, Japan "Unfortunately, the Ocean Dome was closed down in October of 2007. So if you were one of the 10 million visitors to this great water park, consider yourself lucky!" from the website.
metrock
^^ That is VERY good to hear. But I don't want a new park at the Great Park. That is, I don't want to see the current location go. Now, if they were able to move and rebuild some of the slides, then I would be somewhat satisfied. See, the charm of Wild Rivers isn't the slide selection, it is how the slides were integrated. Plus it is cool to see the remaining buildings and theming from Lion Country. But, ya know, it still makes no sense to me. The great park is essentially open flat land -- perfect to build homes on. And it isn't by an amphitheater! Where as with Wild Rivers, there is infrastructure that needs to be removed and so on. Plus that parking lot cant go anywhere till the lease with Verizon is up. ahecht
It seems that the author has an obsession with Tornado/Half Pipe type slides that rock you back and forth. That and bowl-type slides. Does no-one build long scenic terrain slides any more? Treetop Runs and Slide Mountain were my two favorite attractions at Raging Waters, but it seems that now everyone's either building a speed slides or Half-pipe/bowl slides.
