Bucket Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 My first Photo TR and in English! It took me forever to write and I hope it is not too bad! Sorry for the bad quality of pictures as I did not take too many but I wanted to share! My cousins came to visit me for two weeks and since Europa Park is not too far from where I live (okay, it is still very far!) we decided to go camping nearby and then head to our favorite theme park. Europa Park is a very nicely themed park with relatively good attractions. Their staff are extremely friendly and can speak English very well (which was great for my English friend who was with us, as he did not speak any German!) The park itself, for those who have never been, has a lot of family attractions and dark rides. The coasters itself are not too great compared to other German theme parks, as the only one that I would re-ride would be Silver Star. Silver Star: 8/10 - Very fun and re-ridable but the queue is sometimes very long. I like that Mercedes Benz sponsors the ride because you can see and learn a lot about the company just by staying in line. I think they lightened up on the mid-course breaks recently because I definitely experienced a little more air. Euro-Mir: 6/10 - I don't have any pictures of this ride, (sorry!) but as a whole, I am not too big a fan of lateral spinning rides... they make me sick! It's quite a unique attraction though! You go up an endless spiral lift hill in the dark while techno music plays and when you reach the top, there are mirror cylinders where you can see the reactions of other guests before dropping. Quite a cool effect! Sadly, the ride isn't very long. The lift is longer than the actual ride I think! Eurosat: 7/10 - An enclosed coaster with a futuristic space theme. I have always been a fan of this ride, ever since I was little and I really still love it. It has gotten a little rougher though! Poesidon: 8/10 - As it was cold the day we visited, the line was not too long. Very fun ride with lots of twists and surprises. A little short though... Those are the only coasters I remember going on because the lines for the others were either too long or we just didn't want to do them. Overall, we had a wonderful together! It's always nice to spend time with family at a theme park because it always brings back such nice memories of my childhood! Enjoy the photos! Me and my cousin at a club after Europa Park! Overall... wonderful day! After we left the park I, the real fun began back home in Stuttgart! We all found this hilarious... a used condom wrapper in a theme park? Hm... Me on the left, and my cousins on the right The Switzerland section Geisterschloss... my favorite dark ride. It translates to "Ghost Castle". There is an intro similar to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland with the elevator but the rest of the ride is totally different. A little more dark than the Disney version and better I think because I grew up with it! The station area... very nicely themed of course. Poesidon! This was a new ride for Europa Park... a shooting dark ride themed to Atlantis. Not too bad, but it was more fun for my littler cousin. Random theming A better shot of Silver Star from the parking lot later in the day when we were leaving. Me and my cousins on Silver Star being Asian (my two Japanese cousins were visiting and they always do this cute little sign!) I am in the second row! Inside the queue area of Silver Star First stop... Silver Star! (sorry for the bad quality... the weather was terrible in the morning!) Yay! Europa Park up ahead! ...but of course I went swimming! The lake near the campsite... it was so cold!! Our cute little campsite! Me and my cousins and an English friend went camping not far away from the theme park. Driving down Baden-Wuerttemburg! The state that I live in and where Europa Park is!
Team Thriller Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 It's nice to see Europa Park pics again. Very nice pictures. I totally love that park. --James
SharkTums Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I'm glad they're filling out the Greece area a bit more, especially with a shooting dark ride!
ginzo Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 ^With the obvious exception of Disneyland Paris, I'm looking forward to this park the most. It looks super high quality and interesting.
Jew Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 ^I would actually go as far as saying this park would fit in just fine at a Disney resort. It's REALLY nice.
cfc Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 No need to apologize for your English. You write very good, er, well. Thanks for the report and pictures. Like many others, I'm looking forward to Europa Park this summer--and a new dark ride is a definite plus.
AstroDan Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Europa-Park is a better park than DLP in my view. Great pictures, I can't wait to get back. Staying the the Colosseo's Presidential Suite in May!
