If the current weather keeps up, make sure to pack a boat!

I was down at the boardwalk tonight to see the fireworks but didn't take my camera (was a last minute decision to go by). Crowd was pretty light for a Friday...I imagine due to all the rain earlier in the evening.

The coaster is now lit up at night by flood lights...I'll try to get some shots of it at night in the next week or so.

Not a lot of visable progress since last week...but that is to be expected since it is nearly complete I guess.

I personally saw at 610 and Westheimer a Bullet billboard:

Become Bullet Proof...

(The speedy bullet logo was at the bottom)

hehehe

P.S. - Hey Restoca... Micro PHOTOED does a pretty good job taking out the blurs. It actually looks pretty good.

It sure does look nice lit up at night. Though it doesn't look quite as nice as most GCI's do.

I can't wait to see some video of this thing hauling butt.

This thing looks awesome, espiecally that first drop. I hope the TPR Texas trip happens, because that would probably be the only chance I would have to ride this.

Not much new to report. Installation of track continues. Landscaping, fence installation and other work around the ride has been taking place as well. Still appears to be quite a bit of track with no steel on it.

Ride entrance. It appears there will be a ticket booth just to the left of the "Boardwalk Games" sign.

^ Thanks for the update!

It is looking good, but I am very doubtful that it will be open within the next three weeks, which means I won’t be able to ride it for a while now.

There has been a bundle of wood up there almost since the turn was completed. I wonder what the problem is? Also, Is the old green fence near saltgrass(at the back) gone?

Posted

I don't think there is really a problem...I just think they are working on things in a certain order. There definitely has been progress on the turn at the top of the lift over the last couple weeks.

The fence in the back by Saltgrass is still there.

Not much new to report. The rain continues to delay construction. The track is still being installed and work around the ride (queue, landscaping, etc) continues.

The gift shop nearest Saltgrass now has some BB merchandise. Cups, glasses, shot glasses, keychains and magnets. No t-shirts yet.

This is some kind of like Troy and it looks like a twisty woodie. I guess the feel of what it's like to ride on Kemah is really close to Renegade.

I do care about the small dips when I see GCI woodie POV since they could be the bottom line to make the ride enjoyable.

What timing, I was just wondering how the construction was going. Thanks for the pics. Hopefully the weather will improve, so they can get this coaster done.

You do know this is a Gravity Group ride, not a GCI, right?

Weather isn't looking good for the rest of the week. It rained today and a lot more is forecast over the next several days.

Made a quick trip for some photos this evening, signs are going up, the queue is getting longer and longer, and installation of the track continues....

You can see the queue come around the corner and more forms appear to be set to continue it on.

The second drop on the Bullet reminds me of the 2nd and 3rd drops on the Gwazi Tiger. I went to Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa on Monday. It's quite bumpy but intense turn arounds and drops. hehehe

I read in a local paper that tickets for the Bullet will be less than $5/ride.

They currently sell an all-day armband for the other rides for $16.

Even if they bump that up to $20 when Bullet opens, it will be well worth it... I would certainly spend more than that on individual rides!
