TwistedTrack Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 i was thinking what park i should go to this summer and i came up that PA is has a good amount of parks that are also high quality. Im now thinking about going to Hersey or Dorney to go on Hydra. What do you recomend out of all the PA parks. i appreciate it.
vertgforces Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 i wud definetly round it down t those 2 parks...hershey or dorney. i personally like dorneybetter than hershey, but i'm gonna get matches shoved down my throat fer saying that...
YoshiFan Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I would suggest going to Hershey. I think it's an all around excellent park. They have a wide variety of coasters most of which are great and a nice collection of other rides. The park is also just a nice place to be in since it is very clean and is kept up well. Plus, there is Chocolate World with the darkride " factory tour" which is something fun and different.
ChrisFL Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I've never been to Dorney, but Hersheypark is awesome and there are a LOT of attractions there and killer coasters, then there's all of the chocolate
DenDen Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I say kennywood. It's not the biggest, but in my opinion, it's the best in PA.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Kennywood and Knoebels would definately be my choice if I only had two parks in PA. Only problem is there is around a 4 hr drive between them. There are so many great parks in PA that I don't even know where to start but this is probably my faves (in order): Â Kennywood Knoebels Hersheypark Dorney Park Waldameer Conneaut Lake Park Lakemont Idlewild
Coasters 4 ever Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I have been to Hershey and Dorney and liked Dorney better. But I went during Springtime in the Park to Hershey so Midway America wasn't open.
Rugged One Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 It all depends on how many parks you have time to hit. Hersheypark, Dorneypark, and Knoebels all kind of form a little triangle that can be hit rather easily. Kennywood is a must but sits further away and is better done with a combo of Lakemont/Delgrossos/Idlewild or Conneaut/Waldameer. If your set on either Hershey or Dorney, I would go with Hershey (and not just because it's my home park ). While Dorney has a great steel collection, Hershey has more and better wood as well as some good steel coasters. Hershey also just seems to have more to do overall, has a better atmosphere, plus has Chocolate World next door. But heh, that's just my opinion. 8)
TwistedTrack Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 I also may go to Six Flags Great Adventure. But im mainley looking for a park witch good atmosphere and good rides and i want to know if Great Adventure has that.

X Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 U Triple Posted and Knoblels is the best park in Pennsylvania.
Rugged One Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Great Adventure definitely has the great rides down but the atmosphere will depend on how crowds affect your definition of the word. I don't know when you plan on going but not that we are into June, there won't really be any "slow" days at the park. If you go during the week, it won't be as bad but you'll still be waiting in some lines.
