jmccalip Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Here are some pictures from today. Sorry they're all close ups, the lens starts at 70mm, and it makes taking pictures of EVERYTHING in Kemah difficult. This guy was showing off all day Mess of track Just a little airtime Precise moment I lost my hat
almightyfire Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I see the Boardwalk wasn't crowded today.
jmccalip Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 It was when I left, probably about a 45 minute wait. Since it was evacuated on the lift and closed for about an hour, people were anxious to ride it again.
texcoaster Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Nice pics! I like the one with the caption "precise moment where I lost my hat". Notice the total absence of shiny stripe on the rails where the road wheels make contact. Especially on the left rail, the stripe disappears for a couple of feet, then there's a foot or so of stripe, then another gap. One word: AIRTIME. The road wheels have never touched that part of the rail. When you come into the brake run, the section of track with "the pop" is right next to you. The left rail on that piece has a stripe gap of almost THREE FEET. I'll bet the upstop rail is really shiny there, though!
itsme102 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Nice pictures. Bullet looks like a great ride, and those trains look nice, too.
jmccalip Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 I just noticed this person does not look very happy about me taking pictures. Hahahaha
coasterbilly Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 haha that's awesome, and whats up with the girl in front of her, the ride too loud for her? haha. Thanks for sharing this, that ride looks really cool and the trains look comfy!

It shakes the whole queue line and makes some people scream when they walk through.
almightyfire Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 The que makes me wonder is this thing gonna fall. The ride actually start when you are walking up the ramp. hahahhahahahah
Team Thriller Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Nice!!! Boardwalk parks are not common anymore. Glad that the ones that are, are doing well!

The road wheels have never touched that part of the rail. Thanks. One thing about that hill though, you get airtime going into that turn so when you hold your hands up you gotta be ready. Just for fun I held my hands up from the top of the lift hill to the brakes... I bruised my knees a bit so you gotta know how to brace yourself.
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 The trains look awesome! I think this is the first time that I've seen pics close enough to see the details. I love the wood.

It's not real wood, it's a self-adhesive sticker. They look a bit tacky up close, actually. The front panels look really good, though.
DarkMeasures Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Everything is flat and looks like it is right next to each other.... I love filming things in lenses less than 28mm.
