spacemtfan Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I just heard the news that the Disney people are planning to spend $1 Billion dollars on a complete makeover of Disney's California Adventure. While I think there's nothing wrong with DCA now, I'm interested to see how this will turn out. A few things I want to see: -The dead plants to be replaced around California Screamin. -More plants and stuff around Tower of Terror. Randomize the drops on the ride. -A nice lobby for the Hyperio Theater. -A cleaner film for Soarin'. -Better rides for Flik's Fun Fair. -Carsland That's pretty much all I can think about. What about you guys?
downunder Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Is this purely for renovation/makeover or new attractions as well? State the obvious: more coasters please and good ones at that.
Swoosh Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Most of the money will go into place-making, but there will be a lot of rides/attractions added/subtracted during the entire "redo" of the park. The guy at the helm of the project is the most interesting thing though. He was the original guy for the Disney's America concept. Interesting thing is, a lot of the ideas from Disney's America are already at DCA, though watered down... it will be neat to see how this ends up. FYI the DCA/DowntownDisneyland/Grand Californian combined project cost $1.4 Billion. That puts just how BIG this really is.
socalMAN123 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 ^^ It's kind of a mix of both. They're adding new attractions, but the main focal point is to make DCA not look like they whipped it up in five minutes. I for one would defenitly like to see Carland, COMPLETE renovation of Paradise Pier, a brand-new film for Soarin, randomize the ToT drops and make it spookier, and finally, get a new show for the Hyperion. There is other things that need doing that I probably just forgot right now, but those are the essentials. ---Brent
ginzo Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 $1 billion in improvements certainly sells me on another trip to the Disneyland Resort.
Manic Monte Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I agree with everything above! But I also think that this park needs the "E" ticket of all "E" tickets. A MONSTER attraction of Indiana Jones, Tower Of Terror, Expedition Everest proportions, that's exclusive to DCA only.

The Aladdin Show is very well-done and the Genie is very funny!
robbalvey Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Where did you hear this? Sounds like something for the rumor thread. When there is an actual news link this may be re-opened. --Robb "Thread closed." Alvey
