CTcoastin Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I'll be at Astroland on an upcoming Sunday for the first time. Can anyone tell me what the parking options are on a Sunday? I always thought people parked in the Aquarium lot, but I now heard that if you park there, they make you buy Aquarium admission. Can anyone confirm this? Seems like parking is a real pain there!
pianojohn Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 If at all possible, I would suggest just taking the subway to Coney Island. Take the D, F, N or Q. It drops you off right there. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you! Sorry!
larrygator Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 The good news is that the Brooklyn Cyclones have a road game that day. I'm not really sure about the aquarium parking rules. I usually drive around for 20-30 minutes and find a spot on the street. Meters are not enforced on Sundays. At least I think that is still the case. Sorry I can't be of more help.
CycloneMan Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I should know this, but I don't because I take the subway! (Yes Public Transportation from Staten Island!). When we do drive, we usually park on the street! So I have absolutely no idea bout the aquarium! Though I will tell you this, don't park outside the Grace Projects or past W19th st, or you wont have a car anymore ! -Dainan "Sorry, but that's all the advice I can give (As a former Astroland Employee too" Rafferty
MisterP Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 If you get there before noon, you should find a spot on the street no problem. Sunday was the day I went in July a couple of years ago, and it was nearly empty until about one or so. I think a lot of residents are still getting out of church at noon.
lil jimmy norton Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I don't know about the aquarium. But it really depends on the time you go. Later on in the day, you have to be really lucky to find a spot close to the attractions. If you drive around a little bit, you will probobly find one. But again, sometimes it so bad that all I can do is just turn around and go home.
dj snow Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 You should be able to park in the lot at the Cyclones ballpark. The last time I went, that's where we parked and it is significantly less expensive than the Aquarium lot. So if street parking doesn't work out, give that a try.
edboxer Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I always park in the Brooklyn Cyclones Parking lot: its cheaper, and it has a security guard! Besides you have to go right past Nathan's to get to the Cyclone! I just make sure to wear my Staten Islands Yankees jersey!
CTcoastin Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 Is the Cyclones parking lot always open? I see on their website that they have a game at 5 pm that day, but we'll be getting there around noon.
