Tömmioh Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hello, On Friday the 13th, we flew to the Netherlands/Holland for a big family and friends party over the weekend. I figured that why not go to Walibi World, when it's on the way. We (me and my sister) ended up getting there at around 00:53 pm and we left 5:10pm (the park closed 5pm). Meaning that we had only around 4 hours time. The weather was really nice and sunny, over 23 degrees C, 77F. We got on the all of the coaster's except for the kiddie Wok's Waanzin, which didn't even seem to be open when we walked around it. Rides and Queues: Coasters: Goliath x 2 - 10 mins, 20 mins. El Concussion (El Condor) - 70 mins *. Robin Hood - 2 mins. La Via Volta (Boomerang) - walk-on Flying Dutchman Goldmine - 10 mins. Xpress - 10 mins. Crazy River - 8 mins. Big Wheel - 4 mins. El Condor was the second coaster we rode (Xpress was the first and first coaster of 2007, yay! ) after Xpress' short queue we were quite shocked when we had already been queing 30 mins for El Condor as the queue didn't look that long. After the ride we (at least I) were stressed, because at this rate we would only get on 3 rides more, luckily the other queues were much shorter. It's annoying that we didn't have more time since almost all flat rides were walk-on and Goliath had such a short queue all day. The visit would've been great if we had an hour more or so, but yeah it was still good. Anyway, here are some photos: Finally, this is how the world looks like if you're: A. Slightly drunk. B. Jeff Johnson C. an old camera out of focus. Thanks for reading everyone! Nice themeing and, you there, quit staring at me dirty oval-eyed lamppost. Ha! I got you! Good airtime there. Stupid hiding camouflage train. Aaah. Goliath, how good are you?, in my top 5 that good are you. Cute castle and nice lake. Robin Hood seems to be approaching, quietly. Now, make your move! Go ahead, steal the money!!! mwahahahhaahaa Nicely themed Top Spin peeing in many fine arches. But where's the toilet paper? Oh yeah, that's why there's so much wood here. Wind power! yeah! Robin Hood power! yeah! Wood power! no. I was positively surprised by this ride, a bit shaky, yes, but still quite good for being in Vekomaland. Twelve Flags Holland! NO!! not you again!, well at least I don't see people suffering from severe head kicking any more. MY FIRST SLC EVER! next ride please! My first ever 'real' Boomerang, next ride please! A nice saloon, beside a worn out looking abandoned house, beside an even older looking building made of, yeah you guessed right. Turtle toenails? No, wood. Even more wood and trash bins. Double Drop, with little airtime, little splash. Boring caption # 35. More wood and trash cans, which makes me think about a hard equation, more wood= more trash? well not in this case, Robin Hood, was shaky but alright. Suddenly we are in the Sherwood forest, with wood, surprising, eh? Goliath and a right arm, which isn't David's, or who knows?? Mmm... nice curvy bits. You know what's missing in this picture? A three-headed albino Giraffe, of course! The entrance to Alibi world, where all thiefs, murders and law-breakers run to get an alibi. Lots of criminal people walking away, happy with their fresh alibis. Really the park had just closed, when I took this photo. What's that? The loner? No! The Orange nude kangaroo type of creature? No! It's Goliath THROUGH THE TREES!!! At Harderwijk train station. The express bus (20-25 mins.) to the park, and the magic apple.
cobra_roll06 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hey man! I really enjoyed this TR. What did you think of the SLC and the Bommerang?
Janster Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hey, nice TR. I love that shot on Goliath's last high-G-force turn. The moment when you are on that last bunny-hop and you see that turn coming... "OMG WTF! Can this roller coaster train - still traveling at this amazing speed - make that turn?" Very intense and forceful!
A-kid Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Nice TR. That topspin looks like it has the same (or close) paint job as ripsaw at alton.
ECZenith Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 ^ Speaking of similar paintschemes, that Boomerang has the same paint scheme as SFNE's flashback. Hehe...
AlmereStars Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 you got there right on time, the boomerang doesn't life long now, I don't know the exact date but it's going down soon... fun TR of my home park
Ghost Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Goliath is a great Coaster... tip for the people that do enter the park when opening; Run straight to it... With a little luck you can stay seated for multiple rides in a row (I did about 4-5 on my last trip over there with a queue forming about 30 minutes after park opening) Thanks for the trip report
Janster Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Yep, that's a good tip there. Goliath is located in a far corner of the park. Most people go straight to Xpress, the entrance of which is in the park entrance building. On the way to Goliath most people will fall for the temptation to go on other rides first (space shot, condor, robin hood, ...). If Walibi expects a busy day, they put two trains (32 passengers) on Goliath from park opening. No matter how busy it's going to be, if you are at the gates at 9.45 am, and you already bought your ticket in advance, you will get 4 rides in a row on Goliath!
Menghini Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Nice TR! Won't be going there this year, so thank you! I never had a q-line at Goliath. I hear many people (many of them are not on this forum) who are afraid of the height and steep drop and won't do this great coaster, that's why I think there never will be long waiting for this ride! Dutch are strange people...
kennywood!007 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Nice pictures man! I really wanna ride Goliath, but I doubt that will ever happen
