chaos Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I'm building a new suspeended rollercoaster called Piranha. It uses the bottom rail of a curtain on the lifthill so the chain doesn't sag. I've decided to use two, 3-car trains, instead of 4-car trains. Any comments?
Golfie Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Wow! A really creative idea - I've never seen an inverted K'NEX coaster before. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
chaos Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 Here's another update. I added some more turns. What do you think of it so far?
thrillrideseeker Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 WOW! That is so awsome! IMO I think it needs a much larger drop. But thats just me. Great job! Keep up the good work! ~Matthew
chaos Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 It probably would be better with a larger drop, but this is my first coaster like this, so I don't want to build something too big without having experience.
Thorpe park maniac Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 this looks awesome, could you post a vid of the final product?
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Looks neat. Oh and there is one thing I have never gotten, what is the point of the central rail? It seems like a waste of rail tubing. (for lack of a better term.)
DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 wow! Arrow Suspended Madness! (with Vekoma trains) how did you manage that one? really unique, great job so far
chaos Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 ^^The center rail strengthens the track and helps the train travel faster. I added a drop an a turn.
odene497 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 How do you make an inverted lift without the chain dog on the train just laying against the car. How do you get it to catch it? It looks really good so far and has a cool layout! -Nick C.
DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 wow it keeps getting better! great job! Im trying to get some more K'Nex
chaos Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 ^^I got a curtain rod from home depot, cut the bottom rail out, and glued it to the lifthill track. Update time. The layout is finished! Now I just have to theme it.
DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 HOLY CRAP! this is amazing! I need to make more money, so then I can get multiple sets of K'Nex coasters
chaos Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 Well, there hasn't been an update for a while, but I hope this makes up for it. Do you guys like it?
texashorns82492 Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 That theming makes up for the really short layout. That's awesome!
thrillrideseeker Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 WOW! This coaster turned out amazing! I love the themeing! The layout is short, but impressive! Great job! ~Matthew
JJboy100 Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 holy crap!!! i bow down to you!!! i found it hard enough to make the models with instructions. You should be an enigineer or something
America Sings Freak Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 This is awesome you should post a picture with all the theming done.
Goliath513 Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Wow! a Suspended and themed Knex roller coaster. I never thought I would see something like this. This looks awesome!
chaos Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 I finished a while ago, but I've been really busy and forgot to post the video here. Hope you like the completed product. For more pictures, click on the link. This has been my most themed coaster. How do you like the finished product? http://www.sscoasters.net/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/695 Piranha.zip
