My family and I are planning to go to SF Great Adventure this Friday. The forecast is for a high of 45 degrees. I was curious if they normally run all the coasters in that cold of weather because I have seen other parks close certain coasters when it was down to 40. The main ones we are worried about are El Toro and Kingda Ka (we have rode the rest). We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old so our main focus is Wiggles World but can't wait to ride El Toro so I can compare it with Voyage (my fav woodie). Also anyone know if Good Friday is normally crowded. I am hoping the cold scares most people away. Thanks in advance.

For the most part, all the coasters do run in cold tempetures. Just don't expect all of them open, because that's just Great Adventure. Also, KK and ET break down alot more in the cold. But, Robin: Chiller should be running by Friday .

Thanks for the help but I got 1 more question. What is the best seat on El Toro because I will probably be limited to 1 ride being that my wife and I will have to take turns riding?

^^Of course, like any coaster, the back or front rows give the best rides. I've riden in the back row and near the middle or the train, and I would recommend the back. Every word gives some amazing (it's hard to describe, you've gotta do it yourself) ejector-into-floater airtime.

Kingda Ka, if the line isn't long, I would advise the front seat. But that's pretty much common sense, who doesn't like a great view?!

I think the back gives a better ride with more airtime on El Toro, but keep in mind that the station does only hold so many people, so they cut off the line and only allow so many people in at a time. If you're toward the end of the cut, your options will be limited, but try to maneuver your way to the back.

as was said....El Toro is DEFINATELY a back seat ride....on a slow day last year I rode front, middle, and back all one after the other and the back was my favorite by far.

As for KK......front is obviously the best but if the wait is long the 2nd row is almost as good. The stadium seating arrangement means you can still get a good view from the second row with a much shorter wait.

Agreed, Head for the back on El Toro. As for the station, I find that most people wait for the front on El Toro leaving the back half pretty empty.

KK, ride in the First two cars only! Do not sit in the back due to major rattle.
