  1. Christian, you and I share the same question. Since I am an enthusiast an my home park is Great Adventure, a lot of people come up to me and ask about the flats situation. In particular, I can think of my little 11 year old cousin Alex who said last season, "Amanda, you're an idiot. I am terrified of roller coasters. I said I will not ride El Toro, I don't care if it's your favorite. I won't even ride Blackbeard. I don't even want to be here unless they get better rides that aren't ones you go on." *Walks away in outrage* Translation: Holy crap, this park sucks without good flats. Straight out of the mouth of an 11 year old. Isn't the park aimed toward "families" now, and not just thrill seekers? Also, ask him about the current lack of water rides at Great Adventure, please. We have the Saw Mill Log Flume. They got rid of Movietown Water Effect (which was awesome!), and Poland Springs Plunge. Can we get a big one soon, like Tidal Force at Hershey soon? Not only will it make the guests happier, but will definitely bring in profit. One more thing, ask if he knows about Old Country at GAdv's future. Thanks Robb and Elissa! If I think of anything else, I'll post it soon.
  2. ^Google maps also tell you that to get to London you need to swim across the Atlantic Ocean. I use Yahoo, it's more accurate. And El Toro is a beast. Even if every other ride is closed, it is worth the trip to Great Adventure just to ride that.
  3. I saw pictures of Kidtums at Great Adventure! She's adorable. It would suck if she grew up being scared of heights or something, but I highly doubt that is even possible with you guys.
  4. Robb & Elissa, when you guys go to theme parks around the world, do many people recognize you? After all, you are practically legends in the coaster world. And also, what was the weirdest thing someone who noticed you has asked you to do?
  5. Aww that poor kitty! It looks like it is sleeping, so that's all I'm gonna think of it. I'm glad you guys had fun at GAdv, and Kingda Krap was running pretty well that weekend (I went on Saturday) surprisingly. I've broken it before too, but then again, hasn't everybody? Like Cory said, you all need to come up to Jersey again this summer!
  6. Haha I'm not like stalking her or being annoying or anything. Since I was 11 I have just wanted to be her. She's one of my role models. So if I made it sound like I was following her around or talking to her at every chance I got or just snapping pictures of her like a lunatic, I wasn't. I spoke to her once when I met her for like 5 minutes, and once when I was leaving at the high five chain I responded to her, "Nice to meet you too." Also, about the wait time signs, if the lines ever do reach that long, they are going to scare people off. Who wants to wait 90 minutes for Skully or 2 hours for GASM? People will think they are accurate, and get off the lines. Nothing can be STATIONARY- what if there is a breakdown or only one car is running that day? It could take twice as long, or half as long.
  7. Kristin Siebeneicher is the Six Flags Great Adventure PR manager and spokesperson.
  8. I think that they should make a passage from right outside of the Golden Kingdom/Boardwalk entrance straight to the fountain. It is fenced in. You have to go through the Boardwalk or around to the Lakefront. It just takes too long.
  9. Make sure you bring a warm jacket and gloves. Those speeds made me feel like my ears and fingers were going to fall off on Monday.
  10. Haha that was probably one of the best 5 minutes of my life. Standing in La Cocina, and I screamed "OH MY GOD I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!" while everybody looks at me like WTH? lol. Meeting someone that important to you can be extremely exciting for anybody. Amanda "I love you too!" Gagnon
  11. Frosty the Snowman: Yeti Ball Strikes Back Rated brrr"R" for mature content.
  12. ^Hahaha! Actually, now that I think about it, I never see camera people at other parks!
  13. ^Yeah, but I kinda feel bad for them. It is their JOB. It's what they are supposed to do. Remember to check out my other pictures from by clicking HERE. The album is now public and complete.
  14. I wish every forum I am on had this feature. I like it.
  15. The Robin train was not open on opening day. It supposedly vallied during testing sometime last week. Batman probably won't be open until atleast the end of May-early June, maybe longer.
  16. People: Amanda (Me) and my Mom Rae Boyfriend: Dainan (CycloneMan) Boyfriend's Family: Anthony, Savannah, Sam GAdv Source Friends: Dan (Nitro17) Dave Stew Kenny Cory (coasterrider1998) Justin JR Renee, Nancy, Jeanette Sue Brian Chris Sxydan Kingda Ka Ryder 4 Life Chuck R Ryan TJ Dave Michelle Ally Many More People. It was insane. Rides KK x2 ET x2 Nitro SM GASM Medusa x3 S:UF Rolling Thunder (left) Batman Houdini Tango Autobahn I got to the park at about 10:25 and ran into Dan and Dave as soon as I got out of the parking lot. Can you say good timing? Well, the weather wasn't good. I couldn't see Kingda Ka's spike from anywhere in the park. We lined up to go through the gates and saw Sue and Renee. Then, Dan, Dave, my mom, and I went to the ropes. There we saw Kenny and his family and some other people. They dropped the rope and I ran as fast as I could toward Kingda Ka. Unfortunately, my lungs gave out at the Boardwalk. Dan kept running but Dave and I power walked. We got on line for Kingda Ka and I was the second train out on Gak, front row (fourth car out altogether) with Kingda Ka Ryder 4 Life. It was amazing. Kingda Ka Notes: Blueberry Muffin and Schoolbus both tested, but were on the far side of the station and didn't run. After Kingda Ka, we walked to El Toro. In line we saw Cory, Stew, and Kenny. It was testing, so the line wasn't farther than the bull statue, but wrapped around toward the bridge. We hopped in line with Cory. The line moved very quickly. My mom was with me, but didn't want to leave the camera down. I ended up riding second or third train out with Stew. The ride was very smooth and as fast as usual. Very nice for a ride that was supposed to be "closed" today. We got off and waited a few minutes and saw Dainan, Anthony, Savannah, and Mrs. Rafferty. We waited and they rode El Toro, so I waited with the madres. El Toro Notes: Stapling. Yikes. It didn't affect me, but everyone else like died. One train was running, the other was full of dummies. Dan and Dave and other people went to Rolling Thunder (Left). When Dainan, Ant, and Savannah finally got off of El Toro, we went to ride Rolling Thunder Left. Dan and company came on again. There was barely any line but the stupid GP didn't move up. I rode with Savannah. Rolling Thunder Notes: The red train was running, the green train was stuck on the right side from opening until like 11:30ish. We went on Tango right after this. It is a good ride I guess, not very exciting, but good. I got off and saw my friend Ally and her friends. Tango Notes: Very soft and breezy feeling ride. We walked to Granny's, then I decided I wanted La Cocina food because I was craving Mexican food. The service there was absolutely terrible. 3/10 stars. The food was alright but they had nothing to offer, and barely any staff working there. When we were paying, Dainan called me and said "RUN TO THE FOUNTAIN NOW!" So, I ran to the fountain. There was Kristin Siebeneicher. You don't understand. She is one of my idols. I almost like had a heart attack. She's so nice! I got my picture with her and stuff. Oh my goodness gracious. That was one of the most amazing moments in my life. We saw Renee and Sue and the Six Flags Crew by the fountain and talked for a while. My mom called, pissed off at me, and brought my cheese quesadilla to outside of Houdini. We went inside while we were waiting for her and that ride still scares the life out of me. I'm such a dork. Houdini Notes: Every single special effect was working. Walk on. Very cool. We went to Skull Mountain next. Holy crap. Walk on back row, with Dainan of course. Savannah and Anthony and Dan and Dave were in front of us, and Cory came on the train as well. We were going up the lift hill and *e-stop*! YAY. I got my first e-stop since 2003 on Superman when I met Dainan. We got a bunch of pictures from that spot. It was very exciting. The lift hill started again and the lights were on for the first 1/3 of the ride. Skull Mountain is amazing with lights on. It looks awesome. They went off, and at the last brake run, we had another e-stop. Two in one ride! The lights went on again. It was an excellent experience. Skull Mountain Notes: The track should be black and not grey. The skull head from Fright Fest was up. The music was not working. The staff was very into making sure we were all okay and not scared. We took a walk through Wiggles World. I love the Wiggles! The theming is absolutely fantastic, and they had "the Wiggles" and crew (Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus) all there. I suggest it to anyone with little kids. If I was under 54", it would be amazing. We took some pictures, blah blah blah, and walked to Nitro. Group ride at 3:30. I sat in the back row. There were a lot of people there. It was smooth and quick as always, and remains one of the top rides in the park. Nitro Notes: The cubbies were gone. One of the trains was disassembled underneath the ride as we could see from the last brake run. Batman: the Ride was next. Practically no wait, it was cool. A little shaky, but cool. I loved it. Batman Notes: The station seemed a tad darker. It had cubbies. We went to Autobahn and Ryan was working. It was cool. Girls can too drive... Dainan. Autobahn Notes: The ride seemed tp be a little slower than usual, but there was legit no lines. We went off to the boardwalk and met Sxydan there. We waited a few minutes and tried to decide whether to go on Superman orGASM. < Haha, orgasm. We picked GASM. No lines. We rode the red car. It was cool, but my back and neck still hurt. Scream Machine Notes: Ouch. And new photo booth. We walked straight to Superman. No line, once again. It was really cool, but the whole back row crew tried to spit on mine and Dainan's feet the whole time. You know who you are. Superman Notes: New camera location! Instead of in the pretzel loop, it's by the second turn. We went back to Kingda Ka with VIG. We met up with JR and Beethoven there. We also saw TJ and Michelle and people. I got second row this time. The fog had cleared. I rode with Dainan. It was wicked sick. Dan and Dave had to leave, unfortunately. We got off and saw Renee and the crew at the bottom, then Sue again on the way to El Toro. El Toro was next. I got stapled as far as I could, and still had room. The ride was excellent, as always. We saw Chris in line there. We walked toward Medusa, and it would be our last rides of the night. We had a triple re-ride; twice in front and once backrow. Our parents and Savannah walked back to the car beforehand and missed the ride. Medusa Notes: COLD. COLD. COLD. And Nitro's cubbies were moved to here! We were walking back to the car because the park closed. Most of the soda machines were closed. The high five train was out, and I video taped Dainan doing it. I started halfway down the line and shook hands with Kristin Siebeniecher. She said, "It was nice to meet you!" AHHHHHH! Yay!!! We said goodbye one last time, and I went off to the far far away land of KFC. Park Notes: -I EASILY fit through the harnesses on Batman. I can't speak for everybody else... -New photo screens were on every ride with a camera. -New innacurate wait time signs in every que line! -Wok & Roll is no longer Wok & Roll. It's just a normal Chinese restaurant: Panda Express. Oh boy. -Weird car lanes at the tolls (service, season pass/credit cards, wth?). -Tight secuity at the entrance. -Not nearly enough maps. -Not too many camera people, but they are more annoying. -Fountain is sparkling clean! -Fright Fest webs can be found in certain trees. -You can see Freefall's cars from Nitro. -Wiggle's World is perfectly themed and is a hit, except scary Skull Mountain's exit right by it. -Cleanliness is excellent. -La Cocina had the worst service in the entire world. The line was so long and they ran out of everything. -The bull statue still has it's "best assets". -El Toro now has a red canvas covering in it's line as well as the old blue and yellow ones. -Medusa was not smooth at all. -Johnny Rocket's and BotW were both closed. -They are strict with cameras. Even taking pictures of the rides. It might have been that guard only, but wow. -Kingda Ka could have ran all four cars, but opted not to. -The park needs to hire people who speak English. -I only found cherry Icee's in the Golden Kingdom. -The tigers were out and about. -The Safari Exploration Station looked cute from afar. -The new lanes are difficult: if you miss the entrance to the Safari, you are screwed. The old way is blocked off by themed fencing. -Not as many flowers as I would have liked. -SMFF's old line is now a seating area. -Some smoking sections are gone, as Sxydan unfortunately noticed when he was about to light up by GASM. -Space Shuttle was running. -Spongebob is back for it's billionth season. -Musik Express was put back together in time for opening. -Ben & Jerry's was everywhere. -Most of the rides were testing early. -New street entertainment is everywhere you look. -MTWE's bridge is pretty much complete, from the looks of it. -Chiller isn't HORRIBLE, but the 0 g rolls looked so much better. -The stores were pretty much fully stocked. -The ride staff was very friendly, but seriously, I repeat: hire more English speaking workers at food places! -I saw Kristin Siebeneicher everywhere after I met her. -My churro was burnt, but well needed. -Jo Jo and Paula Deanda are the first upcoming concert at the Northern Star Arena! (Not yet announced on the Six Flags website). -New uniforms for employees. -The new flash pass building is amazing. -I barely saw ANY gp yesterday. No dumb quotes today... -The park suprisingly did improve. Enjoy the pictures! The rest can be found HERE. I hope you liked my trip report. I worked hard on it. -Amanda Kingda Ka, Gak, Front Row- 4th train out of the day! (Would have been first but people cut us...) Rolling Thunder Left was testing- right was stuck! Chiller is looking... interesting? Nanananana Batman! One of my favorite Nitro pictures. NITRO sign with Batman: The Ride in the background. Great angle! "The Chiller: Batman- the world's first track jumping coaster!" -Dainan HaVe A wIgGlY dAy! Great American Pain Machine KRISTIN SIEBENEICHER!!!! Getting ready to launch! (Kingda Ka, Gak, Second Row) Dainan and I are on that ride.
  17. Here's another two. I make myself Pokemon cards.
  18. No. I would like to though. Have you ever hopped over 100 times in a row on a pogo stick?
  19. I am not. I forgot to say that I have been on 41 coasters in total.
  20. I'm glad you don't think it's weird, Robb! lol I am not a fan girl! I'm on the phone with you two right now!
