Sir Clinksalot
Hey all, Not sure how many of you saw Kevin Yee's article over at MiceAge today. He got a tour of Give Kids The World in Orlando. It's basically where all the Make a Wish kids stay when they go to WDW. The issue is they are running out of rooms to make sure they have the capacity for all the kids. His idea was to have the "Disney-Online" community sponsor it's own bungalow. I spoke with Robb and he said it was okay to link it. Here is the link: http://www.miceage.com/kevinyee/ky022307a.htm Even if you can't donate, it's a very nice article. Erik Johnson
When Leanne lived in Kissimmee, she lived pretty much next door to this complex. While I never stepped foot inside, from the outside it really looked very nice. It does have a splendid reputation for a charity.

Gnome
it would be cool if a bunch of people donated.
jedimaster1227
I believe that they just announced that WDW would be getting a "Dream Lounge" for the exclusive use of children with the Give Kids the World program.
bigstevet07
Give Kids The World is amazing. My wife's cousin suffers from spinal bifida (sp?) and make a wish sent her and her family for a week. By some coincidence it happened to be during our honeymoon. We met up with them for a day and they showed us around the area. Those Villas have absolutely everything and everyone is so nice. It really seemed like a different part of Disney. I know they aren't owned by Disney, but they know how to take care of people like Disney.
buttonman700
I have been a long time supporter of GKTW, it is truly amazing and a top notch operation to be sure. I took a tour of the facilities some time ago, now the place is a full blown resort. I didn't take the time to read Kevin's article, I will, but one thin that really struck me was how GKTW took care of the family, not just the sick child, but everyone visitng, and this is important. I encourage you, take a look into GKTW, and if you find it your heart to support their efforts, good for you. Oh, and if you every go to IAAPA and they are offering tours to the site, do it, it will change you for ever, it did me!
RRollergod
When my family and I were at Boma we sat next to a kid from the Make a wish foundation. According to her parents she was dieing... Since they wanted to make the most of her last moments, the restaurant made all of their food in the shape of animals. Also for desert... A HUGE plate of deep fried oreos that they shared with us.
