NL Rocket Coaster Conest

Recommended Posts

I have just created a template that I think would be awesome for an Intamin Rocket Coaster Competion.

There are Two entry spots currently open.

1.Jimbobcoaster

2.EuroTre

3.The Cheat

4.matteocrepaldi

5.Real

6.Blazen_AZN

7.weetopia

8.whoa_killa

9.

10.

Now for the Rules.

G-Forces

Positive- No more than +4.5

Negative No More than -1.2

Lateral- No more than 1.2 +/-

Acc.- (+)No more than +1.8 (Launch Only)

Acc.- (-) No more than -1.2 (Anywhere)

Elements

No inversions

Atleast one Overbanked Turn (If Banked over 140* it will be considered an inversion)

ONE additional launch may be used (think Maverick)

Other

AHG must be used

NO prefabs (Supports and Elements)

The winner will be declared by a Poll at the end of the competition, on March 5 2007, and that's about it. Have Fun!

No, it is 3rd party software, click the first link, and scroll down to the download. I suggest you read the information with the link and the readme with the file. And one last thing (read all the info on the link and in the readme before continuing), since you are new to AHG, assuming Miles Per Hour is you preferred speed measurement, for the Input and output speeds, you meed to multiply the Speed by 0.447 to get the appropriate speeds in Meters Per second.

I'm in! Sucks that there are no inversions though. Can it be compact? What if the launch is upward? Like, not vertical, but on a slant? And for the prefabs rule, what if it's just the vertical support, the straight up and down one?

Sorry, no exceptions.

And as for the compact question sure, any size you want.

Last but not least, the launch can be slanted, but not vertical.

i'll enter under one condition.

I can use Elementry instead of AHG becuase AHG does'nt work on my computer.

Elementry doen't heartline things though.

You can hand heart line you know right? AHG isn't the end all above all. And 1.8 Acc forces? Are you serious? That's the weakest launch ever...

No its not, its very close to Hypersonic which is pretty dang quick.

Heres alot of examples figured out by Red.

coaster / park: kmh = m/s by time -> a(avg) = g(avg)

Kingda Ka / SFGA: 206.0 = 57.22 by 3.50 -> 16.35 = 1.67

Storm Runner / Hershey: 115.9 = 32.19 by 2.00 -> 16.10 = 1.64

Xcelerator / Knott's Berry: 132.0 = 36.67 by 2.30 -> 15.94 = 1.63

Stealth / Thorpe Park : 128.0 = 35.56 by 2.50 -> 14.22 = 1.45

Superman Escape / Warner Bros. MW: 100.0 = 27.78 by 2.00 -> 13.89 = 1.42

Top Thrill Dragster / CP: 193.1 = 53.64 by 4.00 -> 13.41 = 1.37

Desert Race / Heide Park: 100.0 = 27.78 by 2.40 -> 11.57 = 1.18

Speed Monster / TusenFryd: 90.0 = 25.00 by 2.20 -> 11.36 = 1.16

Rita - Queen of Speed / Alton: 98.3 = 27.31 by 2.50 -> 10.92 = 1.11

Unknown / PortAventura : 135.0 = 37.50 by 3.50 -> 10.71 = 1.09

Skycar / Mysterious Island: 91.0 = 25.28 by 3.00 -> 8.43 = 0.86

Kanonen / Liseberg: 75.0 = 20.83 by 3.00 -> 6.94 = 0.71

California Screamin' / Disney's CA: 88.5 = 24.58 by 4.00 -> 6.15 = 0.63

Dodonpa / Fuji-Q Highland: 172.0 = 47.77 by 1.8 -> 26.54 = 2.71 (?!)

HyperSonic XLC / PKD: 128.7 = 35.75 by 1.8 -> 19.86 = 2.02

What do we see? launch accelerations, (according to RCDB and averaged per coaster) range from below 1G to approx 1.7 with the exceptions of S&S Thrustairs exceeding 2G.

-------------------------------------------

And Ill try

I guess, but the thing is, for smaller launches, 1.8 won't accelerate the train fast enough, I had one for my coaster that was 1.8 on a slanted launch, and the train rolled back after going like 2 feet.

Then your launch angle was too great, or, your launch was not long enough. Theres no way around it, those are the real numbers and NL does accuratly recreating this sort of thing.
