coasterdude5
Update Year 38 I went to the park today - nothing much has happened. I rode Tango for the first time in a long time, it's crazy. Solar Flare was up and running as always - it's a very reliable ride. The food court has been completed and is open. It provides a great viewing area for Solar Flare. Tango looks even cooler at night. So does the pirate ship! The line was short for Kaena Point Falls - I took a spin and got soaked from head to toe... Park overview at night. Looks like they need more lighting over there. More soon. Rainforest Cafe is currently training the waiters/waitresses so it should be opening soon.
rckrazy06
Whoa! How long hs there benn a Ferris Wheel at the park?I don't remember one. coasterdude5
Update Year 38 They've been working on what looks to be a parking lot for hotel guests. Apparently its made for temporary parking for guests checking in. It provides a great view of Solar Flare. The Hawaiian Research Facility has been completed. Hawaiian Research Area is complete! It's really opened this part of the park up. I like the way Solar Flare interacts with the food court. It might be my favorite ride at the park, I'm not sure. It sure is something to look at. Guests tend to agree with me. More soon.

rckrazy06
I have a feeling that the coaster support in the parking lot could be problematic for some drivers. Lets hope to have a year 39 announcemnt soon!
coasterdude5
Update Year 38 The side entrance to Rainforest Cafe is a bit smaller than the main entrance. "How many in your party, sir?" The sevice here is always great. The inside is a bit different from your standard Rainforest Cafe. The sounds are the same, but there's not as much scenery. Overview of the restaurant. Here's the main entrance. In other news, down they go. Solar Flare exiting the overbanked turn. The crowds were pretty steady today, especially for a late-season day. The park still has a decent skyline, just not as sky-shattering as it used to be in its "thrill-day". Here's a shot from earlier this season, see all of the land they've cleared around the hotel? The hotel's addition is complete! More soon.
kraken613
The Hotel looks nice! So does Rainforest Cafe!

coasterdude5
Update Year 38 Last day of the season and it's been a good one! The crowds were pretty light. (which was great for me!) The land that was once occupied by the back service road is still empty. Could this be the next area the park expands on? They've gotta do something with this area, it's crazy - no one goes back here! There's nothing in this area except Phoenix. And if it weren't for it, I don't know if anyone would go to this side of the park... there's not even a restaurant back here. The Bumper Cars got a minor renovation, just some new parts if I understood correctly. It's one of the few remaining rides that were built with the park. Still my favorite spot in the whole park, not sure why. The new Research Area also opens up the old Hershey Grove area. Solar Flare is without a doubt my new favorite at the park. It's got all the elements it needs... Alright, here's the latest word on next season: NOTHING That's right, all my usually trustworthy sources are telling me not to expect anything except TWO major coaster removals. WHICH ONES? More soon.
kraken613
Solar Flare is your best looking coaster ever!
asr
I'm betting Tidal Wave and Oronga are on the way out. Which sucks. Oronga isn't the best ride, and Tidal Wave is old, but only remove one or the other! It is going to be really weird to have those two gone... And that will only leave two coasters. And the last remnant of the original managment will be gone, as will one of the best rides in the park. I hope in the near future the park installs some really great coasters to make up for this. coasterdude5
Update Year 39 Announcement HERSHEY'S HAWAIIAN ESCAPELowest prices of the century at Hershey's Hawaiian Escape! Hershey is proud to present $19.99 entry fee for all guests in Year 39! A classic will also be returning to Hershey's Hawaiian Escape this year! The former Chocolate coaster will redebut in the Zhambi area of the park as Duma-Paka. The ride originally debuted with Hawaiian Escape when it opened 39 years ago. It will become the oldest coaster at the park. However, the ride has gone through an extensive rehab. "We are humbled to have this opportunity to lower prices to this price for this season." The park will also be introducing several park improvements throughout the park including new paint, new benches, and other new improvements. The park will also be retiring two veteran coasters this year. Oronga and Tidal Wave will both be leaving the park after this year. "Both coasters had spent over two decades at the park and have given thrilling rides to millions of our guests," said a park rep. "They will be missed." Their removal will allow for new additions in the years to come. The park opens for its 39th season soon. Well it is a sad day for HHE fans. The park is losing its skyline this year. I've heard both might be sold, but nothing is set in stone yet. The entrance will look very different without Oronga's immelman. 21 seasons at the park... This is a dangerous move for Hershey. (hence the lower admission price) Removing two flagship attractions could easily do the park in. They're going to have to add something besides a kiddy coaster to counteract the loss. Perhaps the waterpark under construction around the hotel will do that. They've got the room. More soon.
asr
I would buy Tidal Wave if you are selling! Anyway, even though I saw this coming a mile away, it still sucks. And as I noticed in the disassembly pictures, you actually fixed Oronga's main problem (The dumb twists right after the immelmann) before you removed it, which sucks. Even without those two coasters, the park might be able to pull off a year with record breaking attendance. People love waterparks, and in Hawaii's tropical climate it would be even better, not to mention the lower price. The park is really fixing the mistakes made after Hershey first bough it. Even so, I hope the park has a top-notch thrill coaster up their sleeve to make up for the removal of these two. Or even a family/intermediate thrill coaster. And going back to the climate, have you considered extending the park's season to year round? EDIT: Since you are making a waterpark, you should make a pool area at the bottom of the waterfall. That would be pretty sweet.
