I 'heard' about what was coming up for Valencia in "24" - and my immediate thought was.... are The Alveys leaving another forwarding address???

 

 

I just laughed. Out loud, suddenly. Doesn't happen that often to me.

If any of you watch 24, a nuke went off in Valencia on TV show 24 tonight. According to Yahoo! maps, it was only 4 miles away.

 

This should of been ground zero!

In the last episode they said that 'only' 12.000 died from it. Most would be from Magic Mountain, or how big is Valencia actually?

^ That would be 12,000 non-mexicans. I'm guessing the actual death toll is much higher..

^ That would depend on the size of the nuke. Nuclear bombs are rated in yeildage terms of mega-tons. I do not know how the scale works or how they are rated, but 12,000 sounds to me like a small nuke of around 10 to 15 mega-tons (keep in mind that I haven't had a chance to watch 24 in very long time). 12,000 is only the immediate casualties. The ones killed in nuke blast are the lucky ones. Hundreds of thousands of people will die due to radition. If it was a dirty bomb (one that intentially scatters radioative material at detenation) then the long term casualties will be in the millions.

 

My brother and his family lives in Santa Clarita, just a hop, skip, and jump from Valencia. The fallout will definately get to them.
