Zen Coaster
http://palgn.com.au/article.php?title=Theme+Park+coming+to+the+DS&id=6102&sid=33848d2cc4aa60ef00018bf06c2dd9d7 Theme Park coming to the DS Gamefront is reporting that Bullfrog classic Theme Park will be coming to the Nintendo DS next year. Theme Park is a strategy title where you have to run and maintain your own theme park, keeping the patrons happy, while also ensuring that rides are safe and your park is clean. From the images we've received so far, it looks like the game is a port of the PC version, with the top screen used for displaying your park, and with the bottom reserved for monitoring your customers, without having to exit to a menu. We'll have more information on Theme Park DS shortly, but the first images can be found in the Media Panel. About time! While Theme Park is no RCT, it was still a very playable game & so it will be nice for owners of Nintendo's handheld to have their own portable roller coaster game. One of the shots shows a hiring screen for a 'Squid Man' whom I can't remember being in the original so maybe they've added a bit of content to the original game - some new, more-current coaster types perhaps? Anyway, the dual screen/touch screen design will make the game very intuitive to play. Hopefully it will be a lot better than the Zoo Tycoon port. coasterdude5
Looks awesome, might not be an RCT, but it'll do when travelling or other times when you can't get to RCT.
kennywood!007
Looks ok. But Thrillville for the PSP is the way to go!
SkinnyPSPPlayer
Yeah Thrillville for PSP is going to own this game.
Zen Coaster
Yeah, Thrillville will be released tomorrow. Personally I'll be buying both and taking both DS & PSP to the TPR trips so we can all have some in-between theme park theme park 'action' This was where it all started though in terms of coaster games and was one of the earliest simulations games I played so having this on DS appeals to me for a few reasons. Will post more information on this as I come across it
Satoshi
kinda awesome stuff but too bad its graphic does not totally work out like RCT gamin' since RCTs are kinda so realistic!
Calaway Park
Woot, now I have to get this AND Thrillville. I must say though, Thrillville looks much better.
DarkStitch626
I remember playing this game on the computer during school in 5th grade >_
asr
For all you people bashing it, i'm betting that this will be twice as realistic as ThrillVille, and more focused on what is important in theme park games. No, not bumper car minigames and flirting with the guests, actually managing the park...
YoshiFan
Looks like there will be another DS game I have to get. I use to love playing Theme Park (and Disney's Coaster) before the days of RCT. I tried to install Theme Park on a newer computer a few years ago but it only ran so fast it was unplayable.
Zen Coaster
Yeah that's just it - a faithful recreation of a classic without bells'n'whistles. Sometimes that doesn't work but when a game is good enough, as TP was, you don't need much in the way of bonuses.
Calaway Park
You have to admit though, the graphics are pretty bad even for a DS game... that doesn't bother me most of the time, but it might make it harder to build on the DS.
Golfie
Seeing the odd mixed styles of graphics in the game, it doesn't really appeal to me. I think that the DS would be better off with a great RCT2 port.
kennywood!007
I think these graphics are really terrible, and don't give the feel of a coaster.
the sound
I think it looks terrible! The Graphics are just, "Barf"
