coasterlover420 Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 That is amazing! I'm wondering how/if you keep that many K'nex.
Golfie Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 ^^^ How do you manage to create such a large bend like that?
rlercstrluvr Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 all i kno iz that thiz will be really cool
Jogumpie Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 ^^^Check out the supports. As you can see, these are so-called constant radius supports. On top of these supports, I placed connections that could be turned into the right angle. Then I simply added track. Because the track is banked at about 70*, the bending is almost completely vertical, instead of lateral. And Knex track can bend easier in that direction, because of the way the crossties are connected to the two backbone rods.
hix Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 How have you made the brakes on your Knex coasters? I can't work it out from the video, or photos. Thanks
Jogumpie Posted December 17, 2006 Author Posted December 17, 2006 ^There are a lot of different styles. Python doesn't even have brakes, since the train loses its last energy on the (slightly upward) 'brake' run before the station. A few days ago, I got an e-mail from K'NEX. They do not want to coöperate anymore and this means the end of the project. It really sucks for the other two builders, I don't really mind myself. I will be having lots of exams in April and May and I am getting more interested in CoasterDynamix.
phazan Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 That's looking pretty darn cool so far! I can't imagine it making it's way through the whole way, but it's still cool!
