The Spanish entertainementgroup Parques Reunidos will get the control over the Madrilian themepark Parque Warner (former Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid) during a period of 10 years. It happened after the city of Mardid sold her 40% shares of the park to the group Fadesa after which Fadesa becomes main shareholder. Fadesa trusted the control of the park to Parque Reunidos (which is owner of Parque d'Atraccions and Bobbejaanland)

For those who didn't know: Parque Warner's main competetor is Parque d'Atraccions and the people of Madrid are going massively to PdA. So I fear that when both parks are having the same management, the competence between them will fade and we'll not see any major improvements over the next years.

And what will happen to Parque Warner's master plan?

Thanks for the news, i hope they take good care of Parque Warner, its a great park! I hope they go through with at least a part of the masterplan, but i doubt they'll turn it in to a complete resort when they risk competing with their own park. But who knows maybe they'll go through with it and find some way to keep PdA popular to.

My thought exactely. This is definately not good for Parque Warner.

Another black page in Europe's coaster history...

Well, we shouldn't be TO negative, after all it would be pretty dirty and stupid for Parques Reunidos to abandon Parque Warner completely, it would ruin the company's reputation if they would fail running the park after Fadesa trusted them with it. I just doubt they'll go through with the masterplan, but that doesn't necessarily mean they won't expand the park anymore.

Damn. PW looks way better that PdA and I have a planed trip (not confermed) trip to Madrid this upcoming spring and that company might ruin PW. The theming looks amazing and they might take it all away .

I take it all the DC Comics and Warner theming will go away too then, eventually leaving us with Movie Park Spain. So much for the cool Arkham theming of Batman and stuff.

Keep in mind that Parque Reunidos doesn't own the park, they just manage it for 10 years.

I don't think the shareholders will allow crazy interferences(sp?) by PR that would harm the park. So taking all the theming away won't happen.

I hate Parques Reunidos, but it seems that Parques Reunidos only will give to Fadesa the options, the new rides(ideas), new shows for PARQUE WARNER but not for the future Resort(Aquatic Park and three hotels).

Fadesa'll have the control and Parques Reunidos will be only a complement to help them in the control of an amusement park, because Fadesa has never been inside an amusement park.
