N'at Man Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 This year was the second time I attended the Fall Pumpkin Fest at Conneaut Lake Park. While ACE had an event on Saturday night a Sunday visit fit my schedule better. Unfortunately that meant missing the Haunted Train at night but I'll look to do that next year. The Fest is full of crafts, food and entertainment along with some of the rides at the park including the Blue Streak. It's somewhat like the Covered Bridge Festival at Knoebels and this event also draws a large crowd. Here's a small display for the upcoming Fright Zone dark ride fundraiser. Attention Todd Long ... The Tumble Bug was open. The Blue Streak is open behind all of the tents. The Flying Scooter was in operation. Spiderman must escape the pumpkin mobile before being squashed by a giant pumpkin falling from the sky. Here's the result of a 1,000 pound pumpkin drop on an old car and truck. The train is a haunted attraction at night. The headless horseman cooks up some vittles in a skillet. Here's some fine merchandise. Here's the midway, full of craft tents and food vendors. The entrance of CLP decorated for the event.
Primogen18 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Nice pics, i was hoping to see a CLP pumpkin fest PTR actually. Fright Zone will be a great addition to the park. I wonder where it will go? They mentioned already having a spot/building to house it.
Dailey Enterprizes Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Aww, I love the Fall and I love Conneaut Lake Park .
CoasterFanatic Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered hearing the "Ultimate Trip" building.
Coaster Palooza Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 That looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could have gone to Conneaut Lake when I was out there.
brotherdave Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered hearing the "Ultimate Trip" building. The Ultimate Trip building is in pretty bad shape and desperately needs a new roof. I talked with some park management and it is currently slated to go into the games area near the Log Cabin gift shop. Of course, anything can change, as money is a major factor in getting whatever building that they will be using into shape to accommodate the ride. It also won't be called the Fright Zone, but will have a new name as yet to be determined.
DerekRx Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Hooray for the Tumble Bug being back in operation and looking quite nice! Conneaut may just have to go on my list of places to get back to next summer, unless they go thru all the "are we opened, are we bankrupt" drama again next year.
CoasterFanatic Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 ^ The Tumble Bug was running for that little event that you DIDN'T attend.
coaster05 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 The tumble bug was really fun when I stopped by the park this year.
