kayoss
Sorry to hear your story, but I am not shocked at all! We had a pretty miserable day at Fuji Q as well, and you're right, it just sticks out so much compared to the other Japanese Parks. In fact I believe it was the only park I was 'yelled' at, as once Dodonpa was closed for the day (I had actually gotten on it) I went up the exit to see if the Gift Shop was still open and was yelled at! All I wanted to do was buy something! Oh well, good, I didn't want to give them my money anyways! Seriously, I think the park looks rundown, and has too many roving gangs of teenagers and careless employees. We'll go back next year, but I'm not expecting much. Yeah, it's so seriously annoying that Dodonpa and Eeekajina are at that park.... why couldn't they have been built at *ANY* of the other parks?! Anyhow, rant aside.... how did you like Dodonpa? (I wish I could count the airgates opening and being told NOT to enter the train as a credit.... lol) At any rate... my photo blog has *finally* been updated with photos from Tokyo's underrated Splash Mountain. All non-Disney park photos I took will be exclusive to TPR.
SharkTums
I didn't like Dodonpa that much. Yes it has the single most extreme launch ever...but it's painful! Yes it has one of the most extreme moments of airtime ever...but it's wrong! The rest of the ride is rough and boring. Don't worry, you didn't miss much! gisco
Wow, my experiance at the park was way different. We got stuck on Fujiyama and had to be evacuated off the lift hill. When we got down they gave us front of line passes if it reopened and then took us to the front of the line for Dodonpa. At the end of the day, Fujiyama was still closed and we asked to use our front of line pass for Dodonpa and they let us. The only reason I want to go back to Fuji-q is to pick up 2 credits and do a walk thru which which I hear is pretty good. Other wise I wouldn't mind skipping it. pianojohn
I felt the same way about Fuji Q. I went in December of 2003 and the park was not even crowded. Yet it still took 1 1/2 hours to ride Dodonpa. Sooooooooo not worth the time. It was freezing cold and they would not let us wear our gloves or hats (since they may fly off and someone could get hit in the face with....a knit cap? COME ON!!) so we froze during our 1 minute ride. It is really unfortunate when you travel any distance to ride a particular ride only to be denied it. Space Mountain was closed at TDL when we were there, so I neve got that credit either.

It really takes the cake for me as the rudest, most terrible management of any park I've ever been to. I wonder if the park changed hands or something. Hearing your story *especially* made me sick to my stomach, because of how cruel (there really is no other word) they were denying us a ride on the 4D coaster after how far we travelled and the circumstance involved. I'm c'mon, it's Japan, not wartime Germany. It's like some bad "NO SOUP FOR YOU" cliche.

When I get a chance to write up my full (seperate) TR on every park (which mirrored Rob & Elyssa's in many ways) I'll get to what I DID like at FujiQ, which includes those weird (and, honestly, seriously cool) walkthroughs. I was shocked, however, that not only was the Haunted Hospital EXTRA, but it had a three hour line. Needless to say... I missed that too.
aflack
We had a rubbish visit as well in July 2005, it was about 35 degrees and really humid, the wait for the Fujiyama was an hour and a half and the queue was only 100 meters long, the slowest loading i have ever seen. Doponda was like an oven never go to that park in the summer, the queue is in a shed the air-con units were turned off and it was well over 100 degrees in there it took us an hour and the queue didn't even exit the shed, I've never sweated so much. We waited an hour and a half for the master coaster, the park is too expensive and generally rubbish, it makes SFMM look good.
