Leekak Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Can anyone tell me is it possible to eat at a Disney Restaurant if you are not staying at any of the Disney resorts? I am asking because I have seen a number of trip reports where people end up at the Polynesian Ohana's. I would like to take my family for an evening meal there one night in October on our next trip. Does it get busy? Would I need to book? Many Thanks Guys keep up the good work.
Meteornotes Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Sure, you can eat at any restaurant. It is usually a good idea to make a reservation, especially at the more popular ones (Ohana's, California Grill). dt
mcjaco Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Your money is the same color as someone staying at the resorts. They'll take it! As Dave said, make reservations!
disneygurlz2s Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 DEFINITELY!! You will want to call for an ADR (advanced dining reservation) at (407) WDW-DINE. Also, be advised that you may have to pay a parking fee if you are not staying on property (does anyone know if this is still the case??). I remember having to do that once, but that they reimbursed it at the front desk upon presenting my dinner receipt. If you are going at a time of year when they are running the Electrical Water Pageant, it might be fun to go out to the MK boat dock and watch the pageant from there (you can check with the concierge or front desk to confirm what time it comes by). It's also fun to hop the monorail and visit the other resorts. On the Saturday night we ate at Chef Mickey's we did this, and there was an orchestra playing in the Grand Floridian. You can also view "Wishes" from anywhere around the loop, including the Poly, if they are presenting it that night. Shari
Leekak Posted September 6, 2006 Author Posted September 6, 2006 Thanks Guys, all replies gratefully recieved
Adriel Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 You can. But I don't know why, it felt like the price of restaurants and buffet in hotel is more expensive than the price in the park. Hotel, you should try California Grill. Nice food when I was there.

The prices in some of the resort restaurants can be a bit more pricey, but that is also because the quality of food and service can be a bit higher as well. Comparable restaurants (Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary and Le Cellier at Epcot) have comparable prices.
Wes Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Everytime I read this topic title, I think it says "Eating At A Denny's Restaurant", which should only be done if it's 2am and/or you are really high.

You bringing up eating at Denny's stoned brings back the old college memories! As for Disney, I love Alfredo's at Epcot.
SharkTums Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I don't think Denny's and Epcot Restaurants should be in the same post together!
uwgbdork Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 About a year ago i was working at the Grand Floridian Resort thru the college program. Would recomend the Gasparilla Grill quick service if you can't get in to the sit down restaraunts..... also a very good place to see the fireworks at night if you are not at the magic kingdom at the time. 1. Anyone can for sure eat anywhere on property 2. Very good to get reservations 3. If you go to the security gate and let the guards know you have a reservation they will be more then willing to let you park. 4. Any of the restaruants at the Grand Floridian, Polenesian, Contemporary Resort are highly accessable via the monorail reguardless of where you park.
