Canadmos Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Last week my friend and I decided to leave the hot, boring city and go for a drive into the mountains. I took along my camera and here are some pictures I took. It was a fun drive, but tommorows trip should be even better as we will be going even further. Yay, snow This is as far as we got, Dillon Resevoir. I believe this is the highest I was, just outside the Eisenhower tunnel. Heading back to Denver we took a little detour through this casino area. 1 of 3 tunnels on this little stretch of road. I feel like I'm riding Tremors...lol And finally back into town where we pass Lakeside. Tommorows trip is South Park and next week I'm going camping in the mountains. I can't wait.
okinawaboy11 Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Oh pretty. I love tunnels. They're so fun. I always try to hold my breath
Token Yankee Guy Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 This is as far as we got, Dillon Resevoir. Ha, My aunt and uncle got a condo right on the Dillion Resevoir lake. What's neat about that lake, if you didn't know, is that the old town center of Dillion is below that lake. Also, did you stop at The Old Dillion Inn resturant or not?
FlippyTrick09 Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ^ there are alot of places like that... its weird to me... Why would they flood a town to make a lake? I hope it didn't have a McDonalds! Any way them are some nice mountains.... SO that was the ROcky Mountains? Well Have fun on your adventure....- Mitchell P.S.- If you can get a funnel cake...PLease...
Token Yankee Guy Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ^ there are alot of places like that... its weird to me... Why would they flood a town to make a lake? I hope it didn't have a McDonalds! No, of course not, this was done I believe in the 1800's. I do know the ODI was one of the few buildings that was relocated to the new Dillion Town Center.
Carnage Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Well that answers my question of where you are. I saw the first two pics and wondered, "that's not anything near Toronto".
Canadmos Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 Also, did you stop at The Old Dillion Inn resturant or not? Nope, we didn't stop there. I take it I should have? "that's not anything near Toronto". Yeah really! I wish Toronto had mountains nearby instead of all the flat land. It makes it alot more interesting and if you are bored a drive into the mountains is always fun.
ScOtT k Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I ski near there every weekend. I get to drive up I70 every weekend too. Oh, you really should try to make it to vail. It is beautiful out there. Token, Old dillon inn has great breakfast food. Always great before hitting the slopes.

Canadmos Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 As I said in the first post I was going to goto South Park, so here are the pictures that I took when we went the other day. Overall it was a fun day, though not the best weather. The drive starts out with a stop at the Outdoors store. I can't wait to get out of the dirty city. hm, The weather doesn't look too inviting for a drive. Yay, we are finally out of the city. Damn, a traffic jam in the mountains. This sucks. Finaly freeeee rain... Driving on the side of a mountain in a torrential downpour is fun. weeee And over we go! I guess some rocks had fallen. Going up another big hill At the top...weeee We made it! This sums up what South Park is. After taking a 30 second tour of the town in the rain we decided to slide down this hill. Time to go back. Such a sad sight after coming out of the mountains Someone kidnapped Minnie! One last stop before going home. Yum. I will also fix the photos in the post up above, but here is the gallery if you don't want to wait. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v661/pipesdrums2/Dillon%20Reservoir/ Next trip: Camping.
Token Yankee Guy Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 That is pretty cool, is the sandwich good? I dunno, I never had it. I wonder where Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartmen live Looks like you were about to loose your pants while sliding down the hill.
waterviper Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 ^^ Well who ever that was he best pull up his trousers before a snake reaches up and bites him in his arse!! If his pants are like that intentionaly he might as well just run around in his damn underwear!!
