goleafsgo Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 im going to florida later this month, but i will only have 1 day to go to either Bucsh Gardens or Islands of Adventure. im not really that into good theming and whatnot, so which park do you think has better rides overall?
SharkTums Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 If you're more into coasters and havne't been to either park before; go for Busch Gardens.
CoasterCrazy Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I would pick Busch Gardens since you like coasters/rides better than theming.
Jumboshrmp Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Busch Gardens has MUCH better rides MUCH BETTER. Busch Garden's rides are better. Dueling Dragons is a very poor invert compared to Montu. However, the hulk is better than Kumba, but when you go to Busch Gardens, you get to ride my favorite coaster ever, SHEIKRA!!! Plus, you get the Arrow Corkscrew credit (if you actually want it).. and also, they have a cool Schwartzkopf called Scorpion. And, if you like torturing yourself, they have two woodies, Gwazi Lion and Tiger. And finally, they have a spinning mouse coaster. If you care about credits, here's the standings: Credits at Busch Gardens: 8 Credits at Islands of Adventure: 3 Pick Busch Gardens! Last year, my parents gave me a choice of two days at Busch Gardens, or an entire year annual pass for both Universal parks.... I chose Busch Gardens! That's how much better it is! However, Universal has some great rides, but if thats what you're looking for, then you should just go to Disney.
ParkTrips Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 If its simply coasters you care for then Busch Gardens, but Universal as a whole has better attractions than Busch Gardens in my mind. BGT has very few other rides, and Universal has some great sims and interactive rides. Also, they have the added bonus of having a lot of their attractions enclosed, wheras BGT does not (and since you are going in July, that would be a big plus IMO). I say do Universal unless all you care about is coasters.
obeygiant Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 ^ I agree. Also, I care about themeing so BGT isn't that good because I don't like being on a lift hill and being able to spot out where we parked our car.
Jumboshrmp Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 ^ I agree. Also, I care about themeing so BGT isn't that good because I don't like being on a lift hill and being able to spot out where we parked our car. You don't? I think that's pretty cool. I love looking off the lift hill and trying to find my car.
the_rock401 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 ^ I agree. Also, I care about themeing so BGT isn't that good because I don't like being on a lift hill and being able to spot out where we parked our car. If being able to see your car from a lift hill is a litmus test for theming, then you'd be SOL at most places, as most theming isn't intended to go up 100+ foot tall lift hills. The theming at BGT is FANTASTIC, at least compared with the other parks I remember going to (I've been to WDW, but I was only about 7 at the time, so I don't remember very much from there). Paul
goleafsgo Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 any theming is probably better than the non-existent theming at PCW
BeemerBoy Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 ^ I agree. Also, I care about themeing so BGT isn't that good because I don't like being on a lift hill and being able to spot out where we parked our car. With the exception of Dueling Dragons' lift hill view being less than.....um, scenic.
Jumboshrmp Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 It's kinda funny... two parks with 3 B&Ms... Busch has some extra coasters, and IOA has some extra themed rides.
BelizeIt Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I have to cast my vote for IOA!!! This amazing Theme Park has a great mix of rides and attractions! Don't miss out! You will not be disappointed with with IOA has to offer!!!
thefitness Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 And finally, they have a spinning mouse coaster. Cheetah Chase doesn't spin.
commander jigga Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 My vote is Busch Gardens. It has great theming, GREAT coasters, great atmosphere, and the lines move fairly fast. Montu and Kumba are both better than Hulk and DD. Plus you get the headache machine, A.K.A, Python. Scorpion is a good ride, but I wouldn't more than about 30 minutes. I didn't get the chance to ride either of the Gwazi trains. Sheikra is worth maybe an hour wait. The white water raft ride isn't all that special. But their flumes are very good. Over all I like the Busch Gardens atmosphere of "saving the animals and what not", while Islands of Adventure is "lets kill some bad guys!"
goleafsgo Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 yeah, i think im probably gnna go to BGT. Shiekra looks pretty insane, although i dunno if going on Oblivion will take away from the coolness of it being a vertical drop...
mr_teisco_delrey Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Free beer at BGT (if your over 21 that is). By the way, is that a credit?
