Semi Photo TR: CGA Opening Day
laqueefa replied to Angry_Gumball's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So by reading your statement I'm led to believe that you think the parks were great during its Paramount reign by comparison? As much as I agree that the park isn't worth a visit by potential out of county/state park goers, I cant really stand people bashing CF for "killing" the park. I think they're making due with the state the park was in, post-Paramount. The last season, I saw a cleaner park with a friendlier vibe, both by staff and in presentation. The ramp CF is taking in improvements may not be as steep as we'd hope/like it to be, but they're definitely making improvements to the park. I'm by far a CGA nutt-hugger, even though it is one of my home parks, but I cant keep reading about how CF is flushing this park down the drain. -

^and what name have you been hearing? I noticed last years opening date was met with a handful of down rides. -
I agree with this statement. The great thing I'm noticing with the CF take over of CGA, is a possible surge in the battle between the two "home" parks. CGA is getting a new ICE show, the new top spin with FX, hours, Haunt, and a new woodie next year. SFDK is getting the Tony Hawk coaster, the huge revamp from the previous season..... I dont know about you, but I'm excited.

I was actually going to suggest trying to hit both if you can. I wouldn't say Medusa is better than Flight Deck, they both have awesome elements to them. Medusa is longer, but Flight Deck is definitely more forceful IMO. While the Boomerang at SFDK hurts, Invertigo is aggressive. So many parallels in the two parks, both definitely worth hitting up.

Pics of Northern CA Theme Parks in 1979

I like the end facing forwards on the first hill because you experience some major positive g's being pulled through the loop and cobra roll backwards on the return. Also my favorite way to ride. My new job is pretty demanding so I doubt I'll be able to go on lunches anymore, but that last hour and a half of daily operation is always awesome for short to no lines. -

Yeah, I actually got myself and my lady the Plat passes for the holidays. I visited Knotts about 4 times last year, so it made it totally worth it. I'm in. I go at least 6-7 times a year. Awesome! I used to go on my lunches at work all the time and get some rides on Top Gun. I'm totally down to have some meet ups this year! Sounds good to me, I always try to get a ride or two on Invertigo whenever I visit. Whats your favorite seat? -

It's priceless to me, but according to www.websitevaluecalculator.com www.themeparkreview.com is valued at: $98,697! The forum itself is estimated at a modest $39,544. Yeah, I'm bored at work.

They should work out a deal with the Navy and license the Blue Angel monikier for the ride. -
Guy pisses his pants on Stratosphere's Big Shot

I wouldn't doubt this is real. I mean, its Vegas... The guy probably had to throw a couple back to calm his nerves. This tower might be tame, but I bet the shear height of the ride (a top the needle) would even make me flinch a bit (not in the bladder ).
