  1. ^^ It is bee season for the Santa Clarita Valley. Happens every year around this time. Trash cans are usually popular with the bees.
  2. ^ Fun fact - the Chevron down the street from SFMM's entrance sells alcohol, and no real disasters seem to have come from that.
  3. ...and Animal Kingdom opened up as a gargantuan disappointment, did it not? Given AK's size, and everything that Disney could do in the space that it had. DAK was Disney's largest theme park in terms of sheer size when it opened, IIRC, and when it opened, the reaction was more of, "That's it?" I don't see that as a terribly good precedent to follow. A few years ago, Disneyland CA decided to improve its 2nd gate before building any sort of 3rd gate, even though Disney had the land and all the blessings they needed. Disneyland Paris ought to take a gander at what investing $1 Billion to improve the 2nd gate rather than spending it on a 3rd gate with frills looks like, before choosing the latter.
  4. I'm always amused when people think the park is making tons & tons of cash off the lockers. Yes the park does make some cash off them, but they are likely the least significant cost of any guest's day. Also, as has been mentioned, they are a convenient way to ensure your valuables, such as expensive cell phones, survive your ride, in addition to drastically decreasing wait times. I think some people have forgotten what wait times were like before the locker policy was first implemented. //It'd be great if they were actually called lockers in the park.
  5. Disney should probably rethink their donkey hiring practices.
  6. Not a big shock considering there's an easily implementable alternate ending contigency plan in case the dragon is unavailable.
  7. ^ Well sure, because in FL's version, Mickey's really just killing the fountain with the dragon watching from behind.
  8. I'm looking forward to the scare zone that ends in "z."
  9. I am very sorry to see Jay Thomas depart from SFMM. While I'm happy for him as he moves up, and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours, his friendliness and positive attitude will be sorely missed. Good luck Jay! You were absolutely fantastic to work with! Thanks for everything you did for us @ SFMM!
  10. "...because in tonight's episode you are the stars, and this elevator travels directly to... Walmart." *ominous music*
  11. "It's clear that when he hopped on the popular Tower of Terror ride, he got more than he bargained for." Wow...considering the accident happened in the queue long before he even got on the ride...
  12. Currently a friend and I are planning a trip to Orlando for HHN since neither of us have seen Florida's version though we are frequent annual Knott's Haunt & USH's HHN guests. Thinking about going to HHN on 10/10, and perhaps 10/7 also with FF pass if we choose to. Is Express worth it on those non-Fri/Sat nights relatively early in October? What do you think we'd get more out of - going twice with FF no Express, or once just on 10/10 via Stay & Scream w/ Express? I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to go cost-wise since my friend has never been to Orlando and wants to check out IOA along with HHN. Right now I'm leaning towards 2-day Universal base ticket + 1 stay & scream on 10/10 (Sun) + Express, but thinking maybe there's merit in dropping Express for FF and going to HHN twice?
  13. ^ But it doesn't change the fact that it's terrible news reporting to shout "MAN FALLS FROM TWILIGHT ZONE TOWER OF TERROR!!! ~ZOMG WIKIPEDIA SAYZ ITZ 183 FEET TALL - HIGHEZT IN ZEE ANAHEEEM!!111!" and then add a footnote later that says the accident happened in the queue, and the guy was an underage drunk. Epic journalism fail.
  14. My opinion on the stare issue is that Flash Pass users ought to be given something highly visible that they can display that would announce how cool they are that they have a Regular/Gold/Platinum Flash Pass, and can do what Flash Pass allows them to do. That would help GP's be less confused as to what's going on, and increase awareness of Flash Pass and its many advantages.
  15. Anyone who actually knows what's in store for Superman has signed a document strictly stating that they cannot and will not talk about it to anyone, including other employees. My guess is that employee probably read a website and took the backwards rumor as fact. Could have mistook the Dreamworld announcement even. Who knows.
  16. I'm guessing the park would have more appeal if the Nascar race cars and logos weren't about 5-8 years obsolete. Also missing the entrance sign and having the one operating coaster not operating for the entire year basically nails the coffin shut. What a shame given that the park is located near a track that draws 150,000+ twice a year for major Nascar race weekends.
  17. "I see," said the blind man puking into the puke shield, "it's all coming back to me now."
  18. Maliboomer is a maintenance nightmare. When was the last time Disney had all 3 towers up & running for any sort of length of time?
  19. OMG...if that is what I think it is...clench & squish time!
  20. I don't think there's a set schedule for the replacement of lift motors. Something probably happened that required the motors to be replaced right then & there.
  21. Meh, people scared off by "journalism" like this just means shorter lines for the rest of us.
  22. A souvenir bottle comes with free refills all day on the day of purchase. The Studio 6F Coke machine sounds like a pretty cool way to take advantage of that.
  23. There will also need to be about 185 kiosks in different, but random locations where guests can E-mail Dan about literally anything.
  24. I look forward to actually riding Laser Snake Horse on Fire.
