  1. Maybe Fun Spot should just buy Iron Gwazi from Busch Gardens, since those guys seem to have no use for it
  2. Sounds like Kings Island had to close some lines off early yesterday as well. Also seeing several posts online about a lot of fighting amongst the crowds yesterday. Maybe it actually is worth stopping by the park one of these next few weeks, just to catch some of this can't-miss drama Edit: Here's a quick news article about it.
  3. If that's true, then I've got the following concerning Cedar Fair's gigas: I305 - Broken Leviathan - who knows when that park will open Millie - open, but the line closes 2 hours early Orion - open, but get there early cause the park might hit capacity So what's gonna happen with Fury 325?
  4. Agree with that 100% right now. Cedar Point is an easy day trip for me but there's no way I'll be heading up there until maybe late July, at the earliest. Kings Island is the better option right now but I'm too much of a cheapskate to get Fast Lane there so that might not be worth it either... I'm curious to see if all this "pent-up demand" starts to level off as we get later into the summer. Not expecting it to, but I guess we'll see.
  5. Six Flags has handled things substantially better than Cedar Fair in pretty much every possible department since the pandemic began. And that was the case even before these June closures.
  6. ^Yup, it's back! You were right, sounds like just the one train ops for now
  7. Yeah, watch them fall back on the fine print on their calendar page... Looks like the Indians are at home from 5/30 thru 6/2, maybe that could be a backup option?
  8. Looks like there is a POV and some off-ride footage available. Not going to link it here since it's unofficial, but if you search on YouTube and filter on videos uploaded today, you should be able to find it. Edit: Disregard, official POV is available
  9. So when is the next update gonna be? Early June? Next week? Tomorrow?
  10. Yeah honestly one of the largest inconveniences of the pandemic has been turning the water fountains off. I've resorted to filling my bottle with tap water from the restrooms at times...
  11. Right now is the Food & Wine Festival, which is advertised as having a limited ride lineup. I would guess that the rest of the rides will be open regularly once they transition to daily operations at the end of this month.
  12. From what I'm seeing elsewhere, it sounds like yesterday Steel Vengeance's line was closed around 5:45, and several other major coasters were closed off around 6:30 (park closed at 8).
  13. Yep, good call. Ended up skipping these parks for now, but I did make a quick pit stop at Sesame Place today just to see if the Wacky Taxi hype is legitimate (it is). The real question is what will reopen first...Storm Runner or Steel Curtain? My guess right now would be Steel Curtain but I guess you never really know with Kennywood...
  14. Totally agree. I was actually going to try out T&C for lunch last weekend (in fairness - I’m sure it’s pretty good food, just not exactly the healthiest and not something I’m willing to pay for outside the park), but the line was back to the brewhouse Maybe the chain could try mobile ordering at some point like Six Flags has done.
  15. Nice, I expected some contrasting opinions and it looks like that's what we got. All good inputs, though. ^ Yeah that makes sense. Being in central OH makes it pretty easy for me to get out to Pennsylvania. I'm definitely fortunate. As much as I both Phoenix and Skyrush, honestly the most likely outcome is that I'll skip both for now and swing by Kennywood instead; it sounds like they're going to try and have Steel Curtain running which is another one I missed last year. The rain check ticket I have for HP expires on 6/30, so I would probably try to make it back out sometime before that if more rides at Hershey/Knoebels are back open.
  16. Serious question: if you had to pick between visiting Knoebels or Hershey for the following missing credits, which would you choose? Hersheypark - Storm Runner/Sooperdooperlooper Knoebels - Impulse/Flying Turns Also worth mentioning that I have a rain check ticket from last year for Hersheypark, so that would only require paying for parking.
  17. I was under the impression that the new lockers are free and for small items like phones/wallets/keys and that larger items and bags would still require the paid lockers like before. Is that not the case?
  18. You should try Tom+Chee and the new blue ice cream beer if it’s available. Both are flawless.
  19. I'm actually not sure how I feel about this... I mean yeah, I'm sure it'll taste good, but taking a product clearly targeted for children and turning it into an adult beverage just doesn't seem right... A four-pack for $12.99 is a bargain, though.
  20. Unfortunately the Vekoma Flyer (Firehawk) was taken down in order to make way for Orion. That was a pretty solid ride. Flying Ace Aerial Chase is one of the older Vekoma suspended family coasters. I think I've heard the term "hang-and-bang" used to describe these. Similar to Kiddy Hawk at Carowinds. It is for children. Something only the true credit wh*res of the world will choose to ride
  21. Man, the love for Tom+Chee and Melt really fascinates me. Personally I consider those places highly overpriced piles of calories although I've never had either at a park, so perhaps what they offer under the dining plan is a good value. I could also see how these places would appeal to non-Ohioans over the usual Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, etc. A lot of people seem to rave about the blue ice cream as well. Yeah, Kings Island unsurprisingly has the feel of a corporate park, but I agree that the antique cars are not to be overlooked. Maybe take a lap on the train as well (entrance is back past Mystic Timbers), they provide some decent info about the park's history. The main takeaways I get from the park are a very respectable coaster collection, fairly reliable rides overall (highlighted by the 3 B&Ms), very efficient ride operations, and a pretty solid children's area (although beware, Flying Ace Aerial Chase will beat you up, should you choose to partake). Think grilled cheese and tomato soup. Not exactly my first choice for a meal during the hot summer, but a lot of people really enjoy it.
  22. Can you get those at Membership Services, or do you have to go to the Flash Pass Center?
