Biggest Disappointment of 2010?
dragonskeep replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The change to Dragon Challeng is total crap. Hollywood Rockit never getting it's intended capacity and looking at a block section instead of a killer airtime hill (after the loop). The change to Dragons Challenge being total and complete crap and I hate you all for reminding me of that. I mean are you freakin serious? Bring in a bed and a glass of orange juice and take out everything that's cool. Except for the ride of course which totally kicks ass. -

Even with the trims it's in my top 5 steel coasters. I rode it before and after the trims, and I didn't feel like the trims made that much of a difference. If someone who didn't like the ride with the trims, they probably wouldn't like the ride without them either. Well that's encouraging to here, I am looking forward to riding. It would be easy to like that ride with or without trims. But in a perfect world roller coasters would get brought to there highest point and let go. I firmly belive the final version will have a trimmed drop and I am glad to here you liked it both ways. Surely worth a day driving to check it out. -

I love diving into the turns on Maverick, I wish there was more of it. I coached a guy going up the first drop and he was thankful afterwards because he had been told the ride was rough and that he wouldn't like it. He loved it. I love that Intamin builds aggressive rides, even if it means I have to physically participate. -
Ding Ding Ding I think we have a winner. We have had awesome coverage of this ride so far. Thanks to everyone , it's been fun. Probably going to get a little trickier to get good shots. Busch, it's your turn to fill in a little seeing that you have the hard hats and all. We aren't still mad about the name so help us out a little. I need to have a good shot of the drop literally the second it is completed, all the way into the trench please. TPR has improved my spelling.

I am planning to go early in the summer and hope it means no trims when I ride. The folks from the park have all said that hopefully we will be able to remove the trims, that isn't assuring at all. I hope I am wrong but this doesn't seem like enough of a fix to remove the trims. Less G's but longer duration. That's what I see anyway. -
Paiging_jen, cool pictures thanks for the cool update. The 7th and 14th shots are my favorite Cheetah Hunt shots yet. I bet it was nice to be in the park yesterday, was it busy? Busch is building a spectacular ride. If the Tower was a high banking Tophat you wouldn't here any complaints from me but the Tower as it is looks pretty cool too. If the thing is fun to ride it will be a win in every possible way. I am looking forward to seeing the drop take shape. The train should be between 10 to 15 MPH when it reaches the drop, a 130 foot drop into a tight trench. Sounds like fun to me. I will say this: Because of the way they reached out to enthusiasts from the beginning many of us were expecting something a little more thrilling. Although it was really cool that Busch Gardens did that maybe they should consider the perception that was created and then, by some, the disappointment. I hope they wont be turned off by some of the negative comments and continue with this in the future (when they build a Hyper).

After hearing the interview with John Pagel I am left with the feeling that the drop will be trimmed less. I think the final version of I-305 will have a trimmed drop because of that turn. I hope they just let the ride remain intense, and it would be reguardless of the widening of the turn, just let it be what it was meant to be. I am going to ride this summer no matter what they do but for me it would be a real dissappointment if they trim that drop. -
I think fantasy ride line ups are a response to Chuck Bell's interview with Coaster Crew. He said if there was an effort by enthusiasts to chose rides that perhaps one or two could be considered. A top wish list seems like a good idea to me, at least it's fun. Sometimes I think you guys lose sight of that.

We don't even no for sure what will be here but I agree on the SLC. The new trains could make it rideable I personally don't know. Anyone been on Morey pier's SLC? I think they will try to come in a little under what the other parks cost, probably 55 or 60 bucks. If they charge too much they will certainly lose their money.
