  1. So why is it that my mailman only decides to leave my mailbox cracked open when it's raining? Normally I can go for the mail, and it is in the back of the box and the door is completely closed. But today, when we have the remains of a hurricane raining on us, it's all huddled next to the mailbox door, which was left open about an inch! All my mail was soaked! This is not hurricane exclusive, as almost every time it rains, he leaves it open! I don't get it!!! You close it perfectly on dry days, yet you somehow lose that ability when it's raining and can only leave it open? Argh!!! -Julie
  2. I was totally in love with Matt Brown from "Don't Just Sit There" on Nickelodeon. I was 9ish, and the crush only got stronger once he cut off his mullet!! As for now...Brendan Frasier and John Corbett (Northern Exposure, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) are about it. And I've had a "non-sexual crush" on Drew Barrymore for years hehe -Julie
  3. Classic! I saw that about a year ago, and have shown it to all my theme park fans since! The riverquest safariventure is just like something I would have done as a kid! -Julie
  4. With all the talk of Katrina hitting near SFNO, it made me wonder if any coasters had ever been damaged or destroyed by nature before. I know some have been damaged/destroyed by fire, but what about hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, flooding and the like? -Julie
  5. Here's Nashville...the best pic I could find. *thinks "Rats, I knew I should have taken a photo of the funeral home slash barbecue pit that used to be around the corner from my parents house."* -Julie

  7. Go to a Price is Right taping if they have one! I did this in 2001 for the 30th anniversary episode taping, and it was an amazing experience. Truly one of the coolest things I've done in life thus far (sad I know!!!). It takes the majority of a day since you need to get there at the crack of dawn to get in, but man, there just hasn't been anything that compares to seeing Bob Barker come walking out from behind those doors! And if you're lucky, you can win stuff too! I sound like such a dork, but it was such an awesome experience!!! -Julie Me being all "OMG I'm going to a Price is Right taping!!!"
  8. Six Flags Over Easy! Mmm...a food themed avatar! EDIT: I made a few changes and enhanced it, so this version is now my official entry. -Julie
  9. I did the WDW college program From January to May of 2000, then worked as a part time cast member for the summers of 2000, 2001 and 2002. I was a ride op at Universe of Energy and Body Wars. It's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. -Julie
  10. I'm right there with ya Ted except I'd add Bob Barker instead of Hulk Hogan I always told everyone I was going to marry Bob Barker when I got older, so when I went to a show taping when I was 21, I told him that in person and he thought it was funny! -Julie
  11. Absolutely agreed. There's probably not a person younger than 30 who's never played a Mario game, and probably most people over 30 have too! -Julie
  12. One thing I hate worse than anything (that we can all relate to since we've all seen at least one in a theme park bathroom) are the faucets that have a button, and water will only come out when you are pressing down the button. How in the hell do I wash my hands with these things? You have to wash one hand at a time, or wet one hand at a time, then lather both hands, the drip soap all over the counter as you rinse one hand at a time. Who on earth thought this was a good idea? -Julie
  13. Elissa eats pocket fluff? Do they sell that at McDonalds now? McFluff? -Julie
  14. *sniff* Do I not even get a runner-up 2 pound ball of fluff? *sniff* -Julie
  15. He represents good Christians about as well as the 9/11 hijackers represent good Muslims. -Julie
  16. Ahh...VERY good point! Eventhough it's one continuous track, if you only load on one side, there is still more track you haven't ridden on! Good thing I rode both "sides" of Kennywood's Racer! -Julie
  17. Everything seems to be working fine for me, but the old forum would resize itself to whatever resolution size my monitor was using, and this one isn't. I have to scroll side to side to read everything. Not a huge problem, but would be nice if it would automatically resize itself too. Thanks for all the hard work Robb! -Julie (who is back to being neck and neck with Elissa in the avatar contest!)
  18. I wish Tennessee would get on this bandwagon, even if it is just for public buildings like restaurants and bowling alleys. I don't care if people smoke in bars and clubs because I'm not sensitive to it, and don't mind if people smoke there. And if it only limited to a certain type of business, people who are sensitive can easily avoid it. But seeing as how tobacco is a major cash cow for Tennessee, I bet we'll be one of the last to go smokeless. -Julie (100th post!)
  19. You know you spend too much time on TPR when you pass a car with a decal that says "FALKEN" in the back window and think about the video you downloaded last week. (Happened today, no joke!)
  20. Well, I like my art too, don't get me wrong Still looking for a compelling name for this photo. He's a fledgling artist from NYC, and he's on the Ryman steps.
  21. My mom generally doesn't like having her picture taken, but if you want photos of my mom...you got 'em! I don't remember what the hell she was doing here, but she looked ridiculous doing it, so I snuck a picture. My mom putting her feet on the table at Ed Debevics. Here is a paparazzi-esque photo of my mom underneath the Ferris Wheel at Indiana Beach.
  22. I can get Ebola for only $8 Canadian?!?! I'll take three! -Julie
  23. My favorite non-musical artist is Vincent Van Gogh, and my favorite painting is Starry Night. Share yours! -Julie
  24. My friend Kevin and I are going to Six Flags over Georgia during one of the weekends in October. I just want to know if the costumed people that are supposed to scare you are everywhere, or if they are concentrated in certain haunted areas and are easily avoidable? If they are everywhere, is there a way to let them know to stay away from me, that I don't want to be scared? -Julie
  25. Sonic peanut butter fudge shakes are what God serves for dessert in heaven. -Julie
