^While it's not a new ride, I am actually kind of excited for this. The parade has been in need of an upgrade and I think lots of families will love this. I remember when I was at Six Flags St. Louis I overheard lots of kids and parents reminding each other not to miss the parade. Overall I think that this is a smart move for the park but it will be intersting to see how they will market this.

With Six Flag's new family friendly attitude, i really hope that they don't take out Whizzer or Demon. Both of those we're my cousin's favorite rides, all of whom were to short to go on Raging Bull and Batman. I really can only hope that SFGAm will build their new additions around all of their current rides instead of removing them. Now if we do get Chang, yes i'll be annoyed that we have another standup but that really won't stop me or any of the general public from going on it. I can't wait to see how this all turns out. *EDIT* 400 posts!

I emailed Six Flags a while back about why Iron Wolf was so rough and this was their response. I think this was a couple years ago, so they might have changed their mind since then will all of the ride makeovers they've been doing. The only problem I can think of changing Iron Wolf from a stand up to a floorless or sit down would just be that the ride is already designed so that your body and your heart are in a certain place and changing it to a floorless would change that but it could work.

Things I would like to see at SFGAm that may or may not happen 1. A new coaster - I just think we need another good coaster to round off our collection. A Mack looper like Blue Fire would be awesome or a compact GCI woodie would be nice for not only thrill seekers but families in general. A eurofighter would also be fun, but I don't think the capacity on those is the best. I think we could see a compact coaster in the Splash Water Falls area or near the Pictorium. 2. Hurricane Harbor expansion - Like it or not, people love the waterpark. It has hit capacity multiple times and I think an expansion may be coming. The only thing I think Hurricane Harbor is missing is a freefall slide or a Deluge type master blaster. The most likely place for expansion is where Space Shuttle America is or near the Pictorium. I would also like to see the entrance of Hurricane Harbor moved to that area as well considering there's really no reason to walk all the way to Southwest Territory to get there. 3. New thrilling flat ride - I think we have a great collection of flat rides yet a lack of more thrilling ones. The only bigger flats that I can think of would be Giant Drop, Revolution, and King Chaos. 4. General park improvement - This is probably the simplest way to improve the park. Just by painting buildings and making the park look nice in general.

Here are some pics of the newly arrived slide from Holiday World's Holiblog. They also have their webcam focused on Wildebeest construction. -

^I remember walking through the Frontier Trail from Maverick to Millennium Force and thinking that there really were no rides there, so i'm glad that they're putting Shoot the Rapids in that area -

True, but isn't there a river that this ride has to cross? I don't think that would work quite well. -
Is it just me or is the paint totally chipped? Regardless, looks like those mega-lites are awesome!

Here's a couple intersting comments I found on the Cedar Point blog. Q: What is all the stuff about "Whyte Lighting" then??? Just a little confused. A: "White Lightning" is another name for moonshine, which plays a part in the ride's theme. Also, our friends at Carowinds were using "White Lightning" as a teaser to their new attraction. We thought we'd play along by using it, but tweaking "White" to be spelled, "Whyte" as a tribute to a member of our staff with the same last name. Just havin' a little fun. Q: Since it has over the shoulder lap bars, and a chain lift, will cedar point be able to classify it as a roller coaster, and mover there record total to 18? A: Shoot the Rapids is a water flume ride, not a roller coaster. We're focused on providing a well-rounded experience for the whole family at this time.
