La Ronde Discussion Thread

I think what they need in the former Cobra area is a smaller second entrance and then maybe a flat ride near the tail end of Vampire, maybe a Zamperla Endeavor. -
I feel like the rebranding of the water park to Hurricane Harbor is a sign that we are about to see this park go full "Six Flags." I'm predicting a Looney Tunes kids area for 2020 and then a DC themed Giant Discovery in 2021 in between Tantrum and Mind Eraser. I also predict that Mind Eraser will get new trains, a repaint, and a new name. I haven't visited Six Flags Darien Lake since it was being managed by Herschend, and my visit was lackluster back then. The park really did just seem stagnant at the time. I'm so glad that Six Flags bought it back. At least for the time being, that guarantees a new ride every year and I love that.

The length of the queue isn't what bothers me, it's that the bridge is unshaded and just goes through a field. Honestly, if they just added a shade structure above it by extending the posts and putting lattice as the roof and add hanging baskets with vines, then I would love it. Maybe just add a couple more trees in that area. I would love that. I am just so excited to see what happens to that area in years to come! I can not say this enough, but Six Flags St. Louis is underrated. Maybe it's because it was the first Six Flags park I ever went to as a kid, but I still love it to death.

I wonder if so many parks removing some of their upcharge attractions (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags America, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Six Flags St. Louis) is a sign that Six Flags is considering building those small thrill parks that they mentioned in a recent survey. I wouldn't be complaining. I always thought it would be a smart idea to increase company revenue and open up more space for expansion within the park. I'm glad they are removing the go karts though and that some parks are. I always thought they were obnoxious and smelled so heavily of gasoline. I can't wait to see how Six Flags St. Louis utilizes the space!

I think people will grow to love it in time. It seems like there will always be that group of people that will always want to complain each year when Six Flags makes their announcement lol. Six Flags St. Louis is a great park and they are doing the best with what they have. I'm not going to lie, it is still one of my favorite Six Flags parks. I know it doesn't have the biggest rides or coasters, but I always have a good time. And they really do take care of things well in the park. Their three wooden coasters are great and they are trying their hardest to make Excalibur and Tidal Wave like new again. I think people keep focusing on the bad parts when they'd enjoy these parks more if they just looked at what they loved.

That project was scrapped as of earlier this year. -
I actually think that whatever we get for 2020 will actually be very special. I think tomorrow's announcement will actually be pretty spectacular. I've always loved Six Flags St. Louis, but these past couple years have just made me a little disappointed. I mean I've loved what we've got, but I wish if it was a smaller attraction, that another one would come with it. Like in 2016 when they announced Spinsanity, I really wish that they had had given it a Catwoman or Harley Quinn theme or even a Poison Ivy theme, reusing the Chevy Show building as the queue and give it a greenhouse theme, retheme Tsunami Soaker to the Penguin, remove that old Joker pirate ship and replace it with an Endeavor then, rename that Backlot section to Gotham City, and then eventually remove Ninja for a freespin, though I kinda do like Ninja.

I don’t know how I feel about Britannia getting booted for DC. I’ve always been a fan of the DC sections at Six Flags parks, but Six Flags St. Louis always had cool, unique sections in the past. If it is getting a DC retheme, I’d love to see Excalibur turned into a Harley Quinn ride, maybe turn Pandemonium into a Joker themed coaster (remove that crappy pirate ship in the back of the park), and then maybe one of those new Super Air Races and then another flat ride that’s new to the Six Flags chain.

Looks like the park is planning on a 2020 addition! A Facebook user commented on a post, asking about a 2020 addition, and the park said "stay tuned for an announcement." I wonder if it will be a family ride, thrill ride, water ride, or some kind of new exibit of some sort. Personally, I'd love to see a revamped Aquarium Dome. That attraction seems very dated, plus it has that abandoned arena and café. It'd be awesome to add some large tanks at the edge of the building with windows looking out into the park so that people will actually know that that building is an aquarium. They could convert the former arena room into a stingray touch pond attraction and it could provide another revenue stream by letting people buy food to feed the stingrays (like at my local aquarium). Then maybe turn half of that food service into a smaller coffee shop and the other half into another gift shop. Either that, or I'd like to see a Giant Discovery over by where the topple tower was. Something eye catching that would bring in more guests. Okay, either those two things, or I'd love to see a ropes course and zipline area with interactive experiences. Something like that, they could charge a small fee to do as another form of revenue. -
I think the highlighted C's are supposed to indicate that it's a coaster of some sort. Not only that, a two track coaster since it is two C's. I think it'll be dueling raptors. I think that if it was a dueling Premier coaster like WCR, then it would be a DC theme to bring back nostalgia of Batman and Robin: The Chiller.

This looks incredible! And a thirty million investment right after another nearly thirty million dollar investment. Reading the Facebook comments is mind numbing though: "Lost River was a classic blah blah blah there's not enough for old people blah blah blah that drop looks too big for my kids blah blah blah no more thrill rides! Heights heights HEIGHTS!" Lord I'm so excited to experience something like Infinity Falls in what is basically my backyard!

For some reason I had thought Hyena Falls was removed? Must have been misinformation. Good point. New sensations and variety - everyone wins. I thought of that too. And it's mostly out in the open so everyone can see what it does. How cool for Holiday World to think about those little (but important) details. The halfpipe slide on Hyena Falls has been removed, leaving just the tube slides and a small kiddie splash pad. I wonder if they are very quietly trying to get rid of that area. The halfpipe slide was no doubt the most popular slide in that odd complex. One would have thought that they would add some more attractions around it to give guests another reason to go around there, but the last three additions to the water park have been in the other section, and now they removed one of the slides. -

Lap it up? Sounds like a racing water coaster. -
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I have no fucking clue what this attraction could be. Honestly, I could see it being something like a t-rex, but I could also see it being something like an air launch coaster, something like West Coaster Racers, or even a mega looper like Steel Curtain. I would love to see something airtime oriented though since only two of their coasters are airtime oriented.
