  1. Some pretty cool news from Alabama Adventure. As many of you know, they are adding Rocket Racers for the 2021 season, a WhiteWaterWest mat racing slide. This slide will be added at the former site of the log flume and ferris wheel, just behind the Splash Island kiddie area and the high dive area. As we've seen in previous construction updates from the park, they are repainting buildings in that area and redoing pavement in that area. Another great change is coming to the park. They are moving the entrance of the waterpark down main street so that guests will enter the waterpark near Splash Island, making it to where it will make the Rocket Racer seem a little less detached from the rest of the waterpark since guests will be entering rather close to it. I am actually a huge fan of this new change. It brings the entrance of the waterpark closer to the real entrance of the dry park. I think this change will bring more foot traffic to the dry park since there may be guests that don't realize that the dry park has been reopened. It is little changes like that that I wouldn't have even thought of that I love. I believe that this will be a huge year for the park and I feel like 2022 will bring both an addition to the dry park and the waterpark. I feel like we'll finally see a thrilling flat ride added to the dry park for 2022 as well as maybe a smaller slide complex built in the same area as Rocket Racer.
  2. Seeing the pictures are making me even more excited for the park! Seeing it come to fruition is amazing! I can't wait to see how this park grows! I think it'll be incredible!
  3. Oh my lord this is amazing! I am so excited for this! Clementon Park just needs an overall cleanup! The water park side is pretty decent, but the amusement park is pretty..... gross. What it could use is a complete retrack of Hellcat, and some new, modern, permanent flat rides to replace some of the aging fairground rides.
  4. https://fb.watch/4omH3XmU6O/ An update on Rocket Racers. It is going to look huge inside the park! I like where they placed it!
  5. This is a bit of old news right now, but Owa released concept images for the new waterpark. Not going to lie, this is a great-looking indoor waterpark with a nice collection of slides. This expansion may use most of the expansion directly next to the amusement park, but I think this is a smart move. Waterparks tend to have a high return on investment with a minimal amount of expansion required to keep drawing in decent crowds. It will probably end up being a bigger draw for Owa than the amusement park. Hopefully, this will attract enough people to Owa to get larger crowds in the amusement park so that the amusement park can receive some more expansion someday. I went to Owa in the summer of 2019, and the park felt rather empty on a Thursday afternoon during the summer and I think that only half of the spaces in the downtown section were occupied, and none of them by major retailers. I think that this new expansion will do wonders for Owa, especially with the ability to be open year-round as opposed to Waterville USA down the street which operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  6. Damn didn't even catch that. Either way, it looks like they plan to build a family coaster across from Kanonen and it looks like it could potentially be a Roller Skater. Though it would be pretty cool if they got a SFC like Steel Lasso at Frontier City.
  7. OMG I am so excited for this park. If anything, just because I love Lost Island. I ordered a Lost Island sweatshirt off of their website and it just came in the mail. They had wrapped the package in tissue paper, and they enclosed a brochure as well as a handwritten thank you note. It's little things like that that show that the Bertch family takes pride in their park and that the same pride is felt throughout the company. I'm about to become the biggest Lost Island Theme Park cheerleader out there. I mean the park already has a great starting line up of attractions. If the site plans are correct and they also add the family coaster from Ratanga Junction, a wooden coaster or a mine train, a rapids ride, and all with the same level of themeing as it looks like the rest of the park will have, then I think it really could be a gem for the midwestern theme park market.
  8. It looks to be an SBF one. Thank the lord it looks to have a great storyline at least since the ride itself will not be that exciting.
  9. And Celebration City. Personally, I hope that this sale isn't true. I mean Herschend also operated Darien Lake and Elitch Gardens. The greatest thing to come to Darien Lake during their time was a Moose on the Loose and a super loop. The greatest thing to come to Elitch Gardens during their time was a used kiddie coaster, a waterslide, and a super loop. I just really don't see anything great coming out of Herschend operating Kentucky Kingdom. It would be GREAT to see massive, themed coasters and experiences like Dollywood or Silver Dollar City, but I see it being more likely that this park would become a second Wild Adventures: the first couple years would be great, but then a whole lot of nothing.
  10. Well, Clementon Park is going to auction. Something tells me that we will see at least a couple attractions from that park make their way to Alabama Adventure. There isn't much that I could see being at this park, however I do see them potentially getting that Ferris Wheel or Carousel, or I'd even like to see them get that Zamperla Samba Tower for the park's kiddie area. I also wouldn't mind seeing them get that Torpedo Rush slide tower from Clementon Park. I know it they both just have vertical layouts, which seems redundant with Freefall, but I feel like if they put it over by Rocket Racer, then it would be fine, especially since they have the drop boxes. Plus that slide tower is only a couple years older than their new Rocket Racer complex. Just something to talk about since this park does tend to get a lot of their attractions from other park auctions.
  11. I LOVE this, I want to see more Merlin parks like Alton Towers, Chessington, and Thorpe Park come to the United States or North America. I just love the themeing that they put into each new ride! However, I wish they did choose something a little more thrilling to replace Rameses Revenge. Maybe something like a Top Scan, Star Shape, or even a Frisbee. Either way, love this for them!
  12. I will be so mad if they don't do an "Everyone loves Marineland" commercial for Star Voyager.
  13. I've heard some coaster YouTubers call it rough, but honest to god I don't think it is very rough. I mean you can tell that it is a wooden coaster, but it definitely feels smoother than many GCI's and most CCI's. I think people have been calling it rough just since it nearly felt like a steel coaster in 2013 and now it is actually starting to feel like a wood coaster. I've heard some Youtubers describe the same situation with El Toro.
  14. Brandon from Amusement Insiders mentioned that he was told by the park that they were interested in a Windseeker attraction. He tripped up and started to say Sky Screamer (Funtime), but he corrected himself and said Windseeker, making me think that the park would specifically want to go with a Mondial version. IF that is true, then it certainly would give them another tall ride you could see from the falls. Plus it would give a great observational view from the top where you could see the falls. I'd like that to be true, but I would have thought that they would go with a Funtime version to differentiate it some from Wonderland's Windseeker, but I guess the general public that is visiting Niagara Falls probably wouldn't care at all.
  15. I mean the family that owns the park has multiple other properties and other business ventures, so something tells me they are pouring money from their other businesses into the park, trying to get it to the point where the park is more.... profitable. I just can't imagine that this park is very profitable as is. Honestly, something that I think would just make this park feel more..... normal is a people mover system like a monorail that drops guests off at Arctic Cove, Blackbear Country, The Aquarium Dome, the kid's area, and then Friendship Cove. Then maybe like a chairlift up to the top of Sky Screamer Mountain? Or maybe like a skylift attraction that has a station by Friendship Cove, then one on top of Sky Screamer Mountain, and then going down the other side and having a station that is in Blackbear Country?
  16. Why I'm getting so excited, and I'm sure this is why others are too, is because there actually looks to be major growth in the works for this park. I mean after years of getting nothing, they have all of a sudden opened up 4 acre, heavily themed splash park, added trams to take guests around the park, a brand-new penguin exhibit, a thrill ride, and a family ride, but all in a matter of what will be two full seasons. Now they have submitted the request to be able to build higher. It's just fun to speculate what growth will be for a park when we have never really seen it expand before. I mean it is always fun to predict attractions for Six Flags parks and Cedar Fair parks, but there is always a pattern that you could always pull from. You don't really have a pattern of expansion for this park. Also a crackpot idea for a new coaster that I'd love to see: a Vekoma Shockwave. Supposedly, Marineland likes working with manufacturers they've worked with before. They've only ever worked with Arrow, Huss, Zierer, and S&S for new rides. Maybe since S&S and Vekoma have the same parent company, they'd be willing to get something from them!
  17. Looking at the plot of land, I almost like the idea of a dark ride there. It is so close to the maintenance area that I wouldn't want to have a tall ride that would put that area in full view for the guests. Though I have always wanted to see a vertical swing attraction at Silver Dollar City. I feel like it will probably be just an expansion of the maintenance area. However, if it was a ride, I'd like to see it be a dark ride/indoor coaster or maybe some kind of thrill ride. Like I would love to see some sort of frisbee ride at the park.
  18. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if one of the new coasters was a 4D Freespin. I actually find them really enjoyable and fun! Plus, I mean when Marineland DOES add something new, they usually don't skimp out on that investment; it would probably have all the magnetic fins like Arashi. Plus they would probably dress up the ride pretty nice just like they did with Polar Splash and one of their most recent flat rides, Ocean Odyssey. But honestly, anything to start filling out the park would make me happy!

  20. A big part of why it didn't grow as intended was because the original owner, supposedly, didn't want to make large investments unless he was guaranteed an immediate return on investment. Now that his family is in charge, they seem a lot more willing to invest in the park given that they've added brand-new attractions three years in a row now. The two roller coasters that I would really like to see within the next ten years is a midsized Gravity Group wooden coaster like Timber or Kentucky Flyer. I'd also like to see either an S&S or Mack hypercoaster. I'd also like to see an arctic themed water park. I'm excited to see what these next few years are like for the park.
  21. So what do we think about the supposed land clearing behind Fireman's Landing and Mystic River Falls? Do we think it'll be a new roller coaster or a new park area, or is it just part of internal park improvements?
  22. It isn't confirmed, however the old trains from the SLC are currently listed on amusement-rides.com. I feel confident in saying that there will be brand-new trains for the SLC. I think the all-green color scheme will look good with the area once it is complete. It appears that that section of the park will have a temple ruins theme. I'm sure that the area will have some nice jungle-like foliage which will look good with the green. I almost wonder if they are pushing construction so fast so they can plant foliage around the park during the summer so it has time to grow and fill in before the park opens.
  23. I'm sure you all already saw this photographs via David Marvitz on Facebook, but great headway has been made on the park! As you can probably tell, the major roller coasters have had a ton of installation work done. It looks like the SLC is nearly completion! Kanonen looks great! It looks like both the swinging ship attraction, most likely from Ratanga Junction, has been installed as well as the Zamperla Windshear attraction. Looks like they have many buildings in place as well! This park is seriously going up fast! They said to expect a summer of 2022 opening, but it almost feels like they are trying for a summer of 2021 soft opening!
  24. The park is surrounded by cornfields. All jokes aside, this lake will really add to the overall theme of some of these areas of the park. The center area of the park that is split in two looks to have some Polynesian/costal bay village or something like that. It looks to have a boat attraction on the lake. Plus two rides in the park will be built on the edge of the lake, allowing guests to swing out over the water. Plus it is just going to be aesthetically pleasing, especially with the massive Ferris wheel at the head of the lake and the two waterfalls that will be flanking it. I think a man-made lake didn't work for a park like Hard Rock Park, mainly because it was already small with no room for expansion around the park and because they didn't have any attractions that utilized the lake (aside from that show), but I feel like it works for Lost Island since there is still plenty of room for expansion around the park.
  25. Did anybody in this thread go to Winterfest 2021 at Six Flags Over Texas. I saw that Alabama Adventure had presented, but I didn't know if anything juicy was brought up during the presentation, hinting at when they would add a new coaster or something, kind of like during the Winter Chill Out event in 2019.
