  1. I really, really, really want to pronounce "Sultran" like "Soul Train."
  2. Think prejudice is a nice word for what I was speaking about. To me, it seems like if you were to hear somebody say they don't agree with homosexuality or gay marriage you would probably repeat half of this thread or simply walk away iwth a "whatever" face on. I, on the other hand, when somebody tells me they don't agree with my being gay, I always like to ask why. I ask why until I understand where they're comming from, as illogical as it may be, and then, if possible, I like to discuss such things. A majority of time, I find they aren't so much opposed to the things that would come along in the little package deal that is gay marriage, but they are mostly opposed to the whole "ruining the sanctity of marriage" thing. (Although, they aren't always well versed enough to state it as such.) That's just why I think it more logical to get court cases or laws to try and change the individual laws of hospital visitation, social securty, health care, etc, than it is to shoot for the whole shebang. Maybe one day, when I have the time or ability, I'll go out and start lobbying for these things personally, currently I can just sit back and state my opinions on others' activism. I'm not saying that what they've been fighting for is wrong, I just think it's happening inefficently.
  3. I can't wait for this thing.... or, more correctly, i can' wait for it to be over.
  4. Hmm, or maybe I should ask that, hypothetically, you were just handed all of the rights and things that you are so adamantly fighting for. Would you or would you not still hold prejudice toward the people who, because of their own beliefs, didn't want you to have those rights that, according to your beliefs, you are entitled to? You people twisted my words around. I was in no way even talking about laws in any fashion, but now that you brought them, I'm going to say it again. EVEN AFTER all these rights are granted, if they ever do get granted, it won't change anything when it comes to actually being "accepted" or "equal," in my opinion, because my idea of equality and acceptance is being respected, mutually, not having to feign or force respect through laws or ordinances which, in my opinion, is the only thing these desired laws is going to do. And please, go ahead and pick apart my juvenile opinions, because I'm such an idealist there must be something wrong with the way I think. Please bring politics and laws into my sociological posts. Heaven forbid I don't hold such things as tax benefits in such high esteem. EDIT: Also, to clarify, I'm gonna quote what I said on another forum here just not to risk any confusion.
  5. Well, there's a big difference between assocaiting with groups of similar interest and seperating yourself. Everybody seeks the company of similar others, but to limit yourself to that group, and say that it is "your group" in such a manner that implies that no other sect of society could possibly strike your fancy is just ridiculous. I agree that there are sect and different facets within society, but now it seems that people are going away from simply having variety, and more toward having large societal cliques. Just my observation, at least.
  6. I'm not saying that clarification is bad. I'm saying that a lot of people make too big of a deal out of it. They get so attatched to their little sect that even after they are granted "admission," they still seperate themselves, thusly making that little struggle seem entirely pointless.
  7. Hey there, what gives you the right to say "ughh" to other people's activism? I mean, I respect your right not to do nothin', and I'm thinking maybe you don't know squat about gay history, anyway. But as a gay geezer who's seen a lot, let me politely inform you that what rights we queers do possess were achieved largely because people made a "big public deal about it." Yeah, you're only 15. But you happen to live in a state where you can legally be fired or evicted just for being gay. And someday when you grow up and move out of your parents' house and look for an apartment and have to get a job and maybe find a partner you want to form a legal bond with, or even adopt kids, maybe you'll understand things a little better and stop saying "ughh." I'll just reiterate that I think the whole seperation thing is pointless. I think i may have alluded to it previously in this thread, fi not blatantly proclaimed my hatred for adding clarifiers onto histories. I mean, if "we" are trying to be accepted into the rest of the whole, why would "we" clarify what is "our" history as opposed to it being a part everyones?
  8. Ninja @ SFoG, because it kicks your ass.
  9. Never eat on a xylophone.
  10. Am I the only person who thought underwear when he said white party?
  11. ^Yeah, I've always thought it was a combination of the two, really. I think you're born with a majority atraction to one or the other, but your upbringing helps determine how you act on it. Really, I think the biology and psychology of it are too complex for it to be narrowed down to a yes or no answer. Really, I mean, although it's debated, pheramonal reception is an area of this whole thing I've never seen explored. If you could find research on it, please shopw me because I'm highly intrigued. But really, if pheramones really do determine attraction, the genetic aspect of the discussion would basically be proven. It would also leave room for an "ambiguity clause" in sexual orientations, since it would be possible to people to be born with different ratios of male:female attraction.
  12. I'm this young and already tired of the "born that way" debate... my hell, it's so dead. How long does it go back and forth? Physically speaking, it has to die down eventually. Hopefully sooner than later.
  13. Gas efficiency.
  14. ^^Well, it came across like you were trying to disprove his beliefs. Also, I could care less if monogomy is natural or not. The fact is that I can't do anything with anybody I don't have strong feelings for, and if you'd like to try and disprove me on that I'll point you to the 5 monthish period of depression and self loathing i experienced that last time I tried.
  15. Funny, it seems to have turned out quite fruitfull, if you ask me. ANYWAY, I actually tried to read the past 7 pages but got really annoyed at all the seemingly forceful "ideas." Really, I think it's funny how we're all being accepted but when spike said he had chosen to become celibate, basically, everybody started questioning his personal decision and tried to bring out all this "lykomg look at all the hypocrisy." To be honest, there's just as many two-sided freaks in the non-religious group too. And about open relationships.... I have to agree with Zoltan, I don't get open relationships at all. I can barely touch a guy I don't really have feelings for without gagging... and subsequently vomitting, more than often. Ah, the power of the mind!
  16. That's just the thing. You can't be going TOO fast! 124 mph is not TOO fast! Unless you use the construction kit, which can have the train giong like 1000 mph and to my last notice, the game does calculate G's that high. I have a screen shot here of my train pulling 300 G's or more so it's not that they can't calculate things like that, but they are just too lazy to make the template bigger. The formula is already built into the game, it just doesn't allow you to breach those limits. I love how you totally mangle my words! The acceleration calculations and the g-force calculations in that post were completely unrelated. Yes, the formula for g-forces is constant. However, unless I was educated incorrectly, if you drop an object, due to air-resistance and other variables, there is only a certain velocity that the object can achieve. Once again, I reserve the right to be wrong about this one, it's just what I vaguely remember hearing in class one day. And when I said wheels breaking off, that had to do with stress models. As in,"OMG, steel can't withstand 300 g-forces! oh nos!" Thaaaaaanks.
  17. Actually, Elementary and AHG are for people who like to try and design their rides the way they're done in real life. I'm sorry, but it's a lot easier to notice minor a flaw in a math-track than it is to notice a flaw in a hand-built ride. Yes, you can achieve the same result eventually, but to do so requires hours upon hours, if not weeks or months, to perfect. I see no problem with using your intelligence to pump out a perfect track faster than the average designer. And if you want a coaster "game" you have the RCT series already. The reason that NL is the best simulator out there is because it focuses on the rollercoaster. To have a game that would have both the graphics and realism of NL, and the parky things like RCT would require a computer that I'm not even sure exists, to run it real time, atleast. I, and a majority of the people out there, would rather have the main simulator stick to coasters so we can get the highest quality COASTER experience possible. And actually, to my knowledge, once a rollercoaster drops from a certain height, the calculations for the friction and accelrational forces actually has to change to a degree. So to impliment that kind of extremism would, I believe, require programming an intelligent drop-height recognizer to allow the program when to know when to impliment one friction model, or when to use another. (I could be wrong about this physics part, but i do know that once things reach "terminal velocity" the physics of it do change a bit. I'm not positive about friction models, but I'm pretty sure they follow along similarly). You know what I would like? I would like realistic stress models, so if your ride is rediculously intense, your train assembly fails and the crashed screen flies up, or your wheels break if going too fast.
  18. 1. That's called the Elementary. Learn some math, and it works just fine. 4. Last time I checked, No Limits is a roller coaster simulator, not a roller coaster game. 7. To argue in their defense, when you feel like figuring out the friction models and train physics for rides tall enough to allow for the riders to reach terminal velocity, you call them.
  19. I resent that!
  20. ^LOL! Excellent! Oddly enough, that's one of the few songs I like from them.
  21. What isn't blocky to you? ANYWAY, nice lookin park. I actually like your building and colors. Very cheery and "parkish."
  22. Took em long enough.
  23. Leave it to Jewy to think of the financial side of this.
