  1. It's not Disney's Tree of Life (the inspiration I'm sure), but it's not _that_ bad. The young kids don't care, and even my teenager thinks it's cool (and she has seen Disney's). It's honestly better than I expected when it was announced.
  2. The old tunnel from the Village to Craftsman's Valley @ Ms. Lillian's.
  3. I keep hearing that but the week of Thanksgiving on the days I was there didn't seem any worse that pre pandemic those days.
  4. I think they are still shooting for Memorial Day. Probably won't make it but if RMC thinks they can make it, it's worth trying.
  5. Construction update from Doctor Coaster. https://youtu.be/W3ZlzWd24dw
  6. That's where I thought they were too. Just noticed that LR was the only one with the closing statement on the website suggesting a change. Just odd for that info to only be on LR's page.
  7. While looking at the Timesaver info I noticed this on the LR page https://www.dollywood.com/themepark/Rides/LightningRod Did they relocate the fireworks? Not sure why LR would close as I don't see that on any other ride.
  8. I'm a pass holder and have never bought one. I just looked and with Gold pass it's $55 (or $75 for unlimited). Looks like the 8 use TS no longer has limited use on any rides so more useful now. Maybe they'll add a season option like SF does.
  9. Supports being installed on footers. Track arriving on site.
  10. I did find this while looking for info on what they have offered for other companies. https://schools.guildeducation.com/ Unclear if employers offer all of those or if they can limit the options.
  11. Look at the list of companies working with them already. Some big hitters, and they seem happy with the results since they are still using Guild years later. I'd really like to find some information from employees of those other companies. I'm somewhat optimistic because I can't find lots of complaints from them about it being a scam or useless. It's just not quite what Herschend implied originally, but not as bad as it could have been. That said I wouldn't have gone with them, but I'm but the CEO of a multi-million/billion dollar company.
  12. That's what you noticed? Not daughter of state Senator or granddaughter of governor turned school superintendent? Or that she was part of the Obama administration? She grew up in a political family and followed into politics. I expect she'll go back to politics too.
  13. Guild appears to be a benefit coordination company. So Herschend pays them and they handle payments to all the different providers. Off loads the details of tracking what courses each employee takes and paying dozens of different providers. Because of that there don't present a lot of details to the public. Of course it's a lot of online schools. This is for current employees who have to take classes when not at work. It's not like they can travel 100s of miles to attend classes on campus. And the goal is to educate the workforce for other positions in the company, not to get degrees so they can go work somewhere else. This article from last year mentions a partnership with 2U Inc. , which adds 2U's institutions such as Michigan State University, Rice University and the University of California, Berkeley to Guild's existing links to University of Arizona, Purdue University and the University of Florida. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2021/02/24/2u-partnership-guild-education-aims-bolster-offerings-working-adults This article also mentions Bellevue University, Brandman University, University of Denver, Western Governors University and Wilmington University as Guild partners. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2018/06/12/guild-education-creates-business-broker-employer-financed-college-degrees And some background on the founder/CEO of Guild. Make if it what you will. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Romer_Carlson
  14. I would have been surprised if they had changed the policy to allow use at other Parks first. It's to prevent exactly what you are wanting to do. Of you can't route a stop to a less expensive park first, really no options. Just have to get what the first park offers. That said this has changed 2-3 times since October so it could change again by July. Hope for the best.
  15. So wait until SFOG changes to match FT or MM? Sure they could bring back a cheaper option by July, but more likely for OG to drop the option. I'd buy OG now (or somewhere else with a cheap), then schedule a stop at that park to activate since it'll be open in July. Doesn't even have to be overnight, just long enough to get through customs to the park and back.
  16. I don't specifically remember misters but it was always cool inside. Certainly better than some benches in the sun.
  17. Well I didn't see that change comming. Georgia hasn't changed yet. Wondering if I should bite now before they change too. Or just signup for a membership to get grandfathered in since it looks better than the new passes coming out. (Set up a separate account for payment so I can deposit the year's funds into it an not have to track another monthly payment) Or just forgo SF this year and just visit the Smokies more.
  18. Did they have 5 pass levels 20 years ago? And offer a 12 payment plan? At least most of the parks seem to be offering both. Sort of surprising to see the variation from park to park over the last few months. Sure to be confusing if it continues.
  19. Some of us don't want yet another recurring payment. Just a few months ago they had removed most of the single payment passes trying to force monthly payment memberships instead.
  20. Have they? I see Memberships listed farther down the page. https://www.sixflags.com/overtexas/store/tickets-pick https://www.sixflags.com/fiestatexas/store/tickets-pick And it let me click on the Buy button. I didn't go all the way to add to cart though.
  21. https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/store/tickets So Georgia is now showing tiered season passes but with a monthly payment option on most basically memberships. Basic Pass - $50 Gold Plus - $6/mo w/ 12mo commitment (membership) or $70 one time for all of 2022 (pass) Platinum - $8.50/mo or $100 Diamond - $11/mo or $145 * Elite - $17/mo or $215 * Diamond and Elite are still more expensive for a one time payment, but Gold and Platinum are $2 cheaper. I guess that's progress.
  22. Bummer to hear that. I remember in the '80s how great the place seemed. Just seems to be stuck in the 80s (well other than the Aviation Challenge stuff) I'm trying to convince my son to apply for a job there so I may get in touch.
  23. Sounds fun. I wish the Space & Rocket Center (http://rocketcenter.com/) would get some similar love.
  24. Well. What's the point of reservations there then? Capacity caps were always an issue, but seldom (never?) hit before the reduced capacity during this pandemic. But the whole point of reservations was to get in under the cap and guaranty entry.
