  1. Someone on another board..did mention test runs about two days ago but I haven't seen anybody else confirm it, so I didn't post it. [Edit] - Apparently it's true. They did cycle two trains successfully two nights ago. Well I'll be damned.
  2. The castle being built above the big box will not just be scenery. You will be able to go inside and there will be a restaurant in the Great Hall, an FX show, and the Magiquest system. Those are all things that have been mentioned before in some of the press releases and stuff.
  3. Yes, it's been posted on a local S. Fla. Radio Station's website as July 3rd being the grand opening media day. I guess that's how everyone's found out. The website has since taken down the announcement.
  4. Hm.. Lemme give you a visual rundown. Basilisk - Huge Reptilian Snake. Dementor - Grim Reaper looking things. Acromantula (Aragog) - Huge Spider Whomping Willow - Tree that's alive and attacks anything near. Hungarian Hornback - Dragon from the Tri-Wizard Tournament
  5. Finally! So glad to see it on the tracks. Testing will hopefully start soon.
  6. There is a new poll on the official website. "Which of these would scare you the most?" http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/ I personally chose the Basilisk over the Dementor.
  7. Yeah, the guys working on the lift are probably just prepping for the sign going on the side of the lift, I believe.
  8. Viktor Krum the Professional Quidditch player from Durmstrang had the Chinese Fireball.
  9. Fireball won by 72.25%. Which is quite surprising to me, since the Hungarian Horntail had such a massive lead. The current poll is "What type a wand would you prefer?" A replica of a Hero's wand, a Villain's wand, or one that "chooses" you.
  10. I believe the coaster is now in the Lift and Retouch phase. Cause the station is almost done. So I'm pretty sure they'll tend to all the scratches and nicks in the next week. What I really want to see are the trains, cause I know they're X-Cars but I want to see the Color/Design and those ultra-bright LED's they've been talking about. Even though I'm pretty sure the LED's are gonna look the same as they do on Hollywood Dream over at USJ.
  11. Wow, I wonder how much Universal spent on Red Bull to get the track up so quickly, lol. So happy to finally see it all in place, apparently they put the last piece in tonight..
  12. I really want to experience the Jump Cut and Double Take. Can't wait for this coaster to open already.
  13. Haha, how do you think I feel when I go with friends that aren't theme park enthusiasts or know anything about ANY project and they look at me taking my camera and sticking it though holes and sticking my arm though a space and hoping for a good angle. I just tell them it's for a research project, haha.
  14. Hahaha, I know where those last two pics were taken. If you stand on the column base next to the wall you can get some great un-obstructed shots.
  15. Lol, front of the firehouse fail is fixed, all they're missing to fix is the back of the fail. If they install the lift by Sunday then they'll probably bring the trains and put them on the track. Hopefully start testing in the next two or three weeks.
  16. There is a huge crane at IOA. Saw it when I was there on the 10th, but it's not the same one they were using for Rockit, this crane is Red.. Here's a picture of it I was able to snap.
  17. The construction wall in front of the fire station is now down. The landscaping is done, the street sealed and painted and touchup work is being done to the supports and track. The firehouse facade is nearly complete. As for the lift tower, they are running conduit up it, so don't expect the lift tower to be coming down as once rumored.
  18. As long as they finish by Late June, then they still fall into the Spring timeframe they have set. Originally they were hoping for a Memorial Day opening.
  19. Yep, FMP should definetly hire Robb as a consultant. Then maybe they'll make it as far as halfway into a season!
  20. From all the various rumors, the one that I got as a response from most of the on-site construction workers was the lift motors. Either being faulty or being needed to be installed first. I haven't heard any problems that deal with the actual lift track itself. So I have my fingers crossed that once the station and motors are finished that the lift will just fly up in a matter of days. All that's left after that is to fix the firehouse fail.
  21. Yep, the good thing is that Universal had all the money for Potter and Rockit set apart before the Economy went into the crapper. So no need for cutbacks either.
