  1. "Girlfriend"-Avril Lavinge
  2. Glad to hear you had a good time in the Dells. I'm sorry you had to endure the typical Mt. O treatment though. Hades does seem a little rough this year, but maybe it was because of the prolonged drought we have had this summer. I rode it during that period as well. The "wierd stairs" that the Minor Mike coaster is built on are there because the building used to be part of an old greyhound track. The property had probably sat empty for the last 10 years or so, until Knuckleheads/Buffalo Phils opened this past winter.
  3. ^ Yeah. They must have forgotton about the faulty welding on Wicked Twister, and of course there is Top Thrill Dragster. Actually, the welding probably wasn't Intamin's fault, but still...
  4. I would have to believe this is going to be the last coaster CP builds with Intamin for a long, long time.
  5. I have a fairly limited coaster count, so... 1. Hades, Mt.O 2. Raging Bull, SFGAM 3. B:TR, the original at SFGAM 4. Viper, SFGAM 5. Avalanche, Timber Falls 6. Cyclops, Mt.O 7. Demon, SFGAM 8. Zeus, Mt.O 9. Big Thunder Mt. Railroad, Magic Kingdom 10. Timberland Twister, MOA I was a wuss when my family went to Cedar Point, otherwise I'm sure some of those would have made it on there somewhere. I believe I only rode Blue Streak, and Woodstock Express(laugh all you want).
  6. Little People, Big World Mythbusters Boston Legal
  7. The Decemberists - The Pabst Theatre, Milwaukee Show was pretty good. The only complaint I have is the lack of security. I know that may sound stupid at a Decemberists concert, butr there were a large amount of drunks. It's not like The Decemberists are a loud band either, so they were drowned out by random cheers and jeers from a bunch of idiots. They particularly ticked me off when Colin was trying to take a moment to recognize those whom lost their lives in the Virgina Tech shooting. Instead of hearing him I heard cheering from the people in front of me(at the most inappropiate time ever).
  8. The following link shows an updated map with Apollo's Swing included. http://www.wisdellstreasureisland.com/ I heard from an employee that they plan on possibly expanding the Athena gift shop at the exit of the park. They may also tear down the Top Secret attraction to build a new hotel. Let's all hope that last part is true.
  9. It was around 60 in Milwaukee today. Heat wave! Anyways, the WSF is great. The live entertainment is to be desired, but that's what Summerfest is for! Wisconsin is not THAT bad.
  10. Intervention - Arcade Fire
  11. I have to wonder. What will become of the Paul Bunyan's Log Chute? I would hate to see such a great ride go to waste.
  12. Thank you for posting these! The last, and only time I was there it was almost 10 years ago, and the park had just opened. Pretty much everything looks new to me.

  15. That is one hilarious website! In all seriousness though, it looks like a good product. I am quite hairy myself.
  16. That is one insanely tight layout! I'm glad that the guys at GG went with a traditional coaster(and structure) this time. Not that I have anything against my homepark's woodie, Hades.
  17. ^Thanks! Here's a link to another review, with some of the best shots i've ever seen from a concert. www.concertlivewire.com/mcr2.htm There are a few YouTube videos from the show that are floating around as well.
  18. Wednesday was a very welcome relief from what has been a very emotional month for me. There is just something about My Chemical Romance that gets to me. I know they may seem like a "sell out", but you could say that about many band today anyways. So, my roommate and I left for downtown at about 5:00 and got there at about 5:20. If we had known that the line was already as long as it was we would have gotten off a bus stop earlier. No matter, the line had already stretched over the Wisconsin St. bridge and then around the block after we got there. The security guys came by and told us what we could and couldn't bring in as usual. When we asked them about camera they told us that they were permitted. This pissed us off to no end because the tickets clearly stated that no cameras were allowed. While preparing to leave we had debated if we should attempt to sneak our cameras in. So much for their "no tolerance policy". We waited in the line for about an hour and a half and then the crowd started slowly moving forward. Once we got inside we quickly rushed into the lower level. However we figured that it would be in our best interest to try for the front of the balcony. Boy were we right. We got the third row, right-center. It was going pretty well until these guys came with a bunch of teen girls. Anyways, the guys tried doubling up in seats and then started standing right in front of us in the aisle. The entire section was clearly as mad as we were. Security ended up coming and asked them to leave. However, the girls stayed put and the guys kept coming back, drunker each time. So, we and the rows behind us didn't see much of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Negative aspects aside, the shows weren't bad. If I had advice for The Red Jumsuit Apparatus however, it would be to stop trying so hard. The lead singer seriously looked like he was imitating being high or drunk, when clearly he was not. The music all sounded the same too, all six songs. I have a feeling that they won't have a very prolific career. Rise Against was the second opener. I have heard that they were also not the greatest band, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Although there was quite a bit of screaming, the music was quite cohesive. The set was considerably longer, about 10-12 songs, and my personal highlight was when they played the acoustic Swing Life Away. After reading about previous shows and seeing various video clips I was pumped for MCR. They did not disappoint. A black curtain was lowered into place bearing "The Black Parade". After the lights dimmed a spotlight focused on the title while the band started to play the opening bars of The End/Dead. The curtain was than pulled down and the band was revealed, in matching black attire. The show proved to be very theatrical. All in all the set was amazing, featuring 10 songs off of The Black Parade, and 6 off of Three Cheers. They didn't play anything off of their first album however, much to the dismay of many. The setlist was as follows... -The End -Dead -This Is How I Disappear -I'm Not Okay -Cemetery Drive -Mama -Welcome To The Black Parade -I Don't Love You -Thank You For The Venom -Teenagers -Give 'Em Hell Kid -House Of Wolves -Famous Last Words(my favorite at the moment) -You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison Encore: -Cancer -Helena Now back to reality(i.e. final exams)
  19. ^Noted. I heard that the show just sold out. I should probably catch the bus as soon as I can in order to avoid all of the screaming teen girls that will be lining up.
  20. Death Cab For Cutie The Rave/Eagles Club Milwaukee, WI 11/26/06 Amazing, as usual. OkGo was the opener, and they were pretty decent as well. Their singer was all hopped on meds though. Kind of funny. Anyways, Death Cab opened with 405 which was a welcome surprise. They also decided to play quite a bit of older material off of We Have The Facts... Next concert is the 102.1 Big Snow Show. My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. After that, probably Snow Patrol in April. Chris Walla Ben Gibbard Nick Harmer and Jason McGerr of Death Cab For Cutie
  21. Kalahari costs about $40 per ticket if you don't stay there. Not worth it for that much money. Noah's and Wilderness have better attractions. Honestly, if you want to do something non-coaster related go ride the Original Dells Ducks and/or the Boat Tour. The ducks are old amphibius vehicles the go between the Wisconsin River and land. I'd suggest the Lower Dells tour. The Upper Dells tour is fine too. There is also a new Broadway Dinner Theatre that opened last weekend. I only mention it because I work there. The production is decent, the food is amazing, and it's moderately priced. It's almost never busy.
  22. ^Yeah, I felt the same way about that ending. It was just like a poor trailer for the third movie. They even used the title "At World's End" in the dialogue. Cheesy. The movie itself was amazing though. Stiunning visuals and a great soundtrack from on of the best modern composers of our time. The 2.5 hours flew by too. ***SPOILER*** How is Barbossa alive? And I can only assume Jack will come away from his battle, comepletly unscathed, to show up in the third movie. Obviously. ***END SPOILER*** Yep. My rating 9/10. Very re-watchable.
