  1. oh, I looked at the first few pages in the forum and didn't see anything about it
  2. So the new Final Destination Movie starts off the "death chain" on what looks like the Corkscrew at Playland in Canada. http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/finaldestination3/large.htm RCDB: http://www.rcdb.com/id319.htm Any other ideas of what it could be? I'm sure half of the shots of it are CGI, but it does look like its based off a real coaster.
  3. I went to SFOG on sunday. Here are a couple of pics of what looks like the station structure and first piece of track.
  4. just don't buy Sony's MV format. They advertise it as a "Micro" version of DV. It isn't compatible with DVD editing programs except Sony's Movie Shaker (which sucks). I recomend Sony's DCR PC350
  5. ^ That was awesome. As soon as Steven said "I did a couple big guys..." I was like "oh sh-" and before I could finish Robb said that. Nice way to end the show Robb.
  6. I didn't know that the ride had *never* operated! When I was there I asked an employee about it and they said "oh that hasn't been working for a while." I guess what they should have said was "oh that hasn't worked... ever."
  7. top 10?! nice I would have guessed top 25 I think the forum has helped this site a lot.
  8. You forgot about a TPR thong. - Bret "I sill can't believe WestCoaster had one" Pritchett
  9. ^ good point! I never thought about that... but I guess I wasn't a big thinker back in the Atari days (being 8 and all)
  10. I forget what show it was on, but Courtney Cox and David Arquette said they are coaster nuts and go to parks on their vacations. David was also at the opening of Goliath at SFMM with a train full of guests who were all named David. (get it? David and Goliath? yea, I thought it was lame too) - Bret
  11. If you consider Backdraft at USH an attraction I would have to go with that. Maybe it's considered a show. Other than that, I would say Mummy, Pompeii, and Jaws
  12. I've heard "let's ride the back! it's faster!" a few times at parks. If I'm ever close enough to the person who said it, I just say "Why doesn't it get to the station before the front?" There is normally a pause, and then "oh, right." One of my favorites was the opening year of Superman at SFOG. FYI - Viper was taken out late in 2001, and then Superman was put in for 2002. So I was standing in line and heard someone say, "where is Viper?" Then the person beside them said "they changed Viper *into* this!" I just didn't know what to say to that.

    Harry Potter

    What plotholes? -Bret
  14. I thought it was Willy Wonka that had the oompa loompas - Wizard of Oz had munchkins. I can't think of many themed areas of the park. Kansas, Emerald City, and maybe the forrest? If they made Kansas in black and white would kick ass (except all the guests wearing color).
  15. ^^ oh, ok nevermind Benzo
  16. ^ how was that useless information? I was commenting on the fact his post was almost unintelligible. I'm just annoyed by that way of typing - and one of the reasons I visit this forum is that its not very usual for someone to type like that (I believe the terms of service ask people not to) If I cared about post comment I could just go in the random forum. I've been on this forum since it opened and don't even have 100 posts. Yea, that looks like someone who cares about their post count.
  17. I did some searching for wireless spy ware items... It's not very small, but it's definitely covert. They'll never suspect its a camera. Just tell the ride ops you constantly need to know what time it is. here you go: (joking) Seriously though, while I was browsing around (I was bored) there is some scary "spy ware" out there being sold. Some of the items I saw with concealed cameras in them: smoke detector clock radios DVD players and VCRs boombox outside floodlight cigarette lighter teddy bear pen cell phone organizer / wallet air freshner (the small kind you plug into an outlet) and these are available to anyone with a few hundred dollars
  18. everything is fine on my end although I would totally like to see a "coaster event/psychic reading" forum!
  19. I have no idea what you are saying but I downloaded the video
  20. ^ Stay that way! My sister has chosen not to ride any boomerang coaster. She's been on a super-invertigo and SLC, but she won't go on a boomerang. She keeps a "credit count" and wants it to be more about quality than quantity. Me on the other hand, well I'm a credit whore. I've never liked Vekoma coasters. Even before I had been on smooth B&M and Intamin coaster, I thought the boomerang and SLC designs were extremely rough. Kiddie coasters are probably the only thing that Vekoma does ok. I wonder how an Intamin or B&M coaster would be...
  21. Space Mountain at DL (guess it would be called v.1) had dispatch intervals between 15 and 20 seconds
  22. location? So would the path to Thanksgiving Land be just past the "tilt-a-whirl" ride? (I forget what they call theirs) This sounds like a laser gun dark ride to me. Anyone else thinks the name kinda sucks? "The Voyage" just sounds like some history channel documentary to me. But I can't think of a better alternative - there aren't many alternatives if you want it Thanksgiving themed. Turkey Terror? Pilgrim's Plight? Since there are 3 trains I think they should name them Nino, Pinto, and Santa Maria. [/url]
  23. I like the construction transition. I almost started calling the ride by it's real name (SheiKra instead of Shakira) - But after seeing several videos set to Shakira music, I think it's back to the Shakira name for me.
  24. that looks freakin sweet The splash down effect alone is enough to get me to go see it in person (and maybe ride it too). I saw some kids getting splashed - how close can you get to it?
