  1. I've only been to HP once, a year ago, and rode Wildcat in the front seat. The front seat. And it was one of the roughest roller coasters I've experienced with hardly any redeeming qualities. I understand it's the first GCI and the GCI HQ isn't too far away but Wildcat needs far more than retracking in my opinion. It's got a lot of potential on that little hillside! Great, you've got an air conditioned, themed mouse in a box right across the path Ride Predator at SFDL if you want a rough ride. Wildcat is nothing compared to that.
  2. I could see a Frisbee or Discovery replacing Pirate
  3. https://www.pennlive.com/life/2019/07/has-the-name-of-hersheyparks-newest-roller-coaster-been-leaked.html?outputType=amp Not much is known about Hersheypark’s plans for a new roller coaster, but internet sleuths may have discovered its name. Coaster-net.com has tracked down a trademark request with the U.S. Department of Patent and Trademarks from Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company for “Candymonium.” Hershey Entertainment is the company that operates Hersheypark. “Candymonium” is listed in the trademark application as being used for “entertainment services, namely, providing an amusement park ride in the nature of a roller coaster ride.”
  4. This past Saturday was ridiculous. Disney levels. But it seemed that most people were in the waterpark or in line for Tidal Force. Went to Chocolate World on Sunday and it seemed pretty crazy then too but I didnt go in the park obviously.
  5. Took the Trolley tour and spotted some footers on the bank of the creek
  6. Here's my thoughts after visiting here for the first time... - Storm Runner is an intense ride, one of the best ive ridden. - read somewhere that Great Bear has the loudest B&M roar, and while I have limited first hand experience with B&M, that thing is loud as hell, especially in the sooperdooperlooper station. - superdooperlooper is amazingly smooth for how old it is, especially compared to an Arrow. - never again will I go on a Saturday, in July, on a concert day, when its 98 degrees. It was miserable and the crowds, especially in the water park, were unbearable. That said it cleared out pretty good in the evening. The only coaster I waited for all day was Laff Trakk. - Lightning is better and smoother than Thunder. - Reese's Tower has some serious airtime. - Tidal Force is by far the best of its kind that ive ridden so far. Its wave puts Escape from Pompeii to absolute shame. I did not get a single drop of water on me riding Pompeii. 1. Tidal Force 2. Jurassic Park (IOA) 3. Shipwreck Falls (SFDL) 52. Escape from Pompeii - missed out on Cupfusion and Skyrush due to lack of time - Love that they have Chick-fil-a, but unfortunately its the slowest moving one. - maybe its just me, but I hated this parks layout. Everything seems spread out in no logical order, signage is terrible and finding ride entrances is difficult. I'll be back at some point but probably not until the kids hit Twizzler level. They were upset they couldnt ride Storm Runner and I was mad I couldnt make it to Skyrush. With that and the crowds Chocolatetown will probably draw I dont see myself coming back for a bit.
  7. Even front car? I rode it with Predator as my baseline and I thought it was fantastic
  8. This. Anyone who says Wildcat is rough hasnt ridden Predator. Heck, I dont think Invadr was much smoother.
  9. Ive never had to wait to enter a water attraction such as a playground or wave pool or more than a short wait for a lazy river. Thanks HP and 98° heat.
  10. Breakers Edge and Tidal Force are accurate
  11. Here for the first time today, these are Disney level crowds. Good lord
  12. Ride of Steel, but if youre near BGW youre near the SFA version.
  13. Could probably ride all of them twice in 3 hours if you run. Ravine Flyer II is worth the stop.
  14. Whatever it is, the area is huge. It spans from Festa Italia to the Rhine. Piledriver Backside of cleared area along Rhine
  15. All the coasters were 1 train waits or walk ons except Verbolten. That thing is painfully slow loading. Le Scoot and Roman Rapids were the other long waits.
  16. How was the crowd in this heat? BG has lots of shade, but it has to be brutal. Only thing weve had to wait for was Verbolten and Roman Rapids so far. Havent been to Griffon, Alpengheist or Invadr yet. Theres a few camp groups but overall crowd is light. Swamp ass is heavy.
  17. At the park today, whatever the new attraction is, theyve been piledriving all day. What appears to be a station skeleton is built too.
  18. Fi doesnt have (or need) its own thread that I know of
  19. Of those Herschend probably did the most and had plans for more, but didnt last for whatever reason.
  20. about conditions at Fantasy Island Customers complain about broken rides and closed concessions. LOCAL 11 seconds ago Author: Kelly Dudzik Published: 9:22 PM EDT July 15, 2019 Updated: 11:13 PM EDT July 15, 2019 GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. — It's the busiest time of the year for Fantasy Island on Grand Island, but not every guest is leaving the park with a smile on their face. From broken rides to closed concession stands, many viewers have been reaching out to us with complaints about conditions at Fantasy Island. "It's not worth it," says Mara Walker. "I regret having the season pass. I wish we would have invested in one in Darien Lake. More rides." The Walkers just got season passes for Fantasy Island last summer and visited the park for the first time this season Saturday. "Disappointing to say the least," she said. "The rides were down. The ones that were open, you could see that they were beat-up and stuff. It's not enjoyable, and you're like why am I here? It doesn't look safe anymore." After two hours, they were done with their visit. "I like the swings, that was down," says David Walker. "Like she said, the Crazy Mouse, that was down. A lot of the vendors, they were down." Hundreds of viewers responded to 2 On Your Side’s social media posts Monday sharing similar stories. Matt Brennan visited the park July 7 and took several photos showing various rides down, and closed concession stands. There were also issues last summer when the Wave Pool was closed. Fantasy Island's parent company, Apex Parks Group in California, said it would open this year and it has. 2 On Your Side got a written statement from the parent company saying it has spent millions of dollars upgrading the park. It also says every ride except Gondola Wheel is scheduled to operate this week. We also got an invitation to check out the park for ourselves sometime later this week. The Walkers just hope all those rides are working next time they visit. "And we didn't have much fun because all my little rides that I wanted to go on were down, too, so I didn't have much fun," said Antonio Walker. 2 On Your Side is scheduled to visit the park to get video of the conditions there Tuesday afternoon. The Director of Marketing is working on arranging an interview for us.
  21. The wheels aren't appreciably 'new' in like a design sense. Coaster wheels get changed fairly regular and re-coated. Usually about a set throughout the season and any marginal leftovers are likely to be changed during the rehab as they all get removed then. There has been a changeover the past few years from welded axle assemblies (like Mind Eraser) to machined ones on Boomerang, though. Don't know if the old ones had urethane pucks in them like Viper and ME for cushioning. Whats the deal with Predator and Pirate? Predator finally getting a mercy killing?
  22. ^ Disappointed? Are you surprised? Youre talking like youre a first timer.
