Even though I am an adult im a kid at heart and I kind of wish Chicago would get a Legoland in a way. I mean a REAL Legoland not just the one thats only in one building at a mall....I never been to a Legoland but it would be kind of cool to go one day. Looks like a neat place to go:) -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Oh any one seen that clip where Jimmy Fallon and that other guy(yea dont watch tv shows) goes on Ripride Rockit at Universal Studios? I dont watch that show. Really, i dont watch TV at all honestly. The only reason i clicked that video was because i like roller coasters. He tells the audience how he went to the park that "has the best coasters in the world!!" or something along those lines....then the audience roared in complete amazement! When i first saw that i was like "really??" He nor the people watching his show must not know much about coasters...Not saying the coasters UVS arnt fun, they are,but they arnt world class like the coasters you see at Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks....UVS isnt known for flagship world class coasters but more known for their dark rides and VR move based rides. I dont know i just thought that was kind of funny and weird... I dont think Jimmy and his viewers ever heard of places like Cedar Point,Great Adventure,Magic Mountain,Kings Island,Kings Dominion,etc.... -

Most Intense Schwarzkopf Coaster?
storms555 replied to dropzonefan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I only been on one and that was Tig'rr at Indiana Beach. Somehow i miss up the Scorpion when i went to Busch Gardens though or else i could of added that to my list. I did enjoy Tig'rr though. I thought it was fun and if i remember it had no restraints That always makes some coasters more exciting! -

No believe me i jumped on my bed as a kid all the time! lol. I would jump on my bed for hours listening to music. However i was referring to thrill rides. Also i never been on a stand up coaster and i didnt know they were known for their air time. That is why i said that. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

^Sadly I never been on El Toro. Its why i want to go one day that ride and drops look so epic! However being that Great America is my home park and i been on Raging Bull several times not sure if i'd rank its drop that high. Dont get my wrong the drop is a lot of fun! However i wouldnt say its the best of the best either even if it is pretty much my favorite ride at Great America. Its actually a toss up between Goliath and Raging Bull as favorites and last time i went to Great America it seemed Goliath's first drop was way more intense. Being this is a Cedar Point thread and not Great America i'd say the best first drop at CP would be M-force of course. Second would be Mavrick. Although small its steepness makes you feel like you are going to fall! TTDs drop is nice but then again it happens so quickly you dont know what just hit you! However i love TTD for its intense speed and height -

This won't be conservative however it shows up. I also think three or four inversions would be just right; but I have no say in the outcome. Thats good to know....we dont want to trigger too many people with all those conservative roller coasters.... I wasn't bringing politics into this. My post was not sarcastic. Yea i know i was making a joke.....lol -

That does look awesome:P Be a fun little ride to install at carnivals and FECs. Also what would be really really awesome is if they made one that is tall like Skyhawk at CP. That would be so epic. Also imagine if it had air time too. Stand up air time would sure be unique awesome experience. -
Oh how i wish i had the money, skills, and big enough yard to make my very own backyard roller coaster!! I dont mean ply wood boards and laundry baskets tape to skate boards either!!....i mean real tracks, the cart with wheels, chain lift and all the works. Like that guy who lives on that Indiana farm!

I hope I go next year to CP again. My cousin's fiance never been to an amusement park before(i know shocking.. ) So she wants to go to Cedar Point as her first amusement park. Which will be an awesome choice . So i will most likely be going with them. Be cool if the new Mean Streak is opened up next year. RMC is awesome!! Even though I just only been on one and thats the Goliath at Great America. Goliath is soooo much fun so i look forward to CP's version of an RMC coaster -

Here is some more keychains i found as well:) I found some more Great America keychains. As well as Holiday World. I also decided to include a magnet. Kings Island Racers. The little plane although has no logo is from Martins Fantasy Island. The otter is from Sea World San Diego when i went back in 1998. The Circus Circus keychain i decided to including as the place as Adventuredome. I also found another NY NY coaster keychain. I soo wish i got a keychain or two from the Stratosphere tower but we didnt really have time. I decided to include the Orlando and Wisconsin Dells keychains because both cities are known for amusement parks and/or water parks. -

Also forgot to add the Twister keychains from Universal Studios is from 1999. How cool is the 3d keychain springy tornado?? The third one i got a few years back. -The bumper car key chain was actually given to me by a family friend a long time ago but since its from Indiana Beach, and i went myself,i decided to add it. -The old gumball machine keychain is from Kings Island when i went back in 2004 when it was still Paramount. You see it warn though....lol.Thats another park i would like to go back to one day! Diamond Back and Banshee looks awesome! -I also decided to include two keychains from Keylime Cove indoor waterpark. Not exactly an amusement park but water parks are kind of like amusement parks in some ways and also its by Great America. -The autograph book with Tweetie is from when Darien Lake was a Six Flags -The other Six Flags keychains are from my home Six Flags. Great America. The wand/stick keychain is a mini version of one of those toys that make that *WAAAAAAAAMMMMMMPP!!* noise when you move it back and forth and includes rain stick beads. I have more Great America keychains as well if you like me to add them. -

I LOVE to collect keychains! I have started collecting them ever since i was a little kid. I got key chains from stores, trips, yard sales, shops, from family and friends etc. Of course since i love amusement parks as well I have many keychains from theme parks! My theme park collection might not be as exciting as others here though but i thought they would be cool to post: Here is bunch of my keychains Here is keychains from the now closed down Myrtle Beach Pavilion amusement park. I went to MB back in 2001 when i was 11. The first pic is me on the Hurricane with my dad. The second is my aunt. the third is me and my aunt on the log flume Here is 3 keychains i got from Mall of America when it was Planet Snoopy. I went back in 2000. Sadly haven't been there since but i would like to go again one day. Looks like they have really awesome rides there now! Here is me on the Voyage at Holiday World back in the summer of 2007. The two people in front me of are just random people lol. They just happen to be in the shot. -
Rank Your Home Park's Coasters
storms555 replied to Imagineer Josh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh there is nothing wrong with older coasters. Im just talking about the type of coasters that dont have drops and such. For example Blue Streak at Cedar Point to me was a lot of fun! It backed a punch for a small old woodie. I enjoyed it and was screaming with joy just like any other coaster ..my friend not so much...just looked like she wanted to really get off soon as possible....lol -
Rank Your Home Park's Coasters
storms555 replied to Imagineer Josh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If people dont mind can someone explain this huge appeal of coasters like Adventure Express at KI and Whizzer?? They seem to be ranked so high in this thread but to me...."flat" coasters just dont do it for me.....and by flat i mean no real drops or/and inversions. Its just most twisty track. I noticed they get praised a lot by coaster enthusiasts and i dont know why. To me these type of coasters are like over sized Dragon Wagons....so please if its ok can someone explain the big appeal to "flat"/lack of element coasters... -
Announcing "Skyline Attractions"
storms555 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As fun as this rides looks, lets hope big parks dont pull a Larson Loop/Disk'o thing on this ride....im sorry but advertising those rides as coasters is such out and out.....tacky...and i admit this even though the Larson Loop is one of my favorite basic carnival rides! This ride would be so EPIC for a local carnival or county fair!! Id be thrilled to see this at a near by fair! However i dont think I could handle the amount of cringe if and when, the big boy parks parade this around as their "omg hot new coaster added to our great coaster line-up!!!", all while showing that infamous fancy commercial with Over Enthusiastic Man talking about like its the next coming of jesus! Complete with making the ride look 10 times taller then it really is.....cant forget that part! -
Rank Your Home Park's Coasters
storms555 replied to Imagineer Josh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I noticed many of the people who post Kings Island they always place Adventure Express in the middle and is up higher then full fledged coasters....why is that? like Vortex was tons times better then that ride....lol. Vortex has a real drop and inversions! AE doesnt have either....its just twisting track after twisting track after twisting track *yawn* Not to mention it was to rough! Vortex was rough too yes but at least it was thrilling..... also you go up that big lift hill thinking it will be an awesome big drop and it just brings you back into the station! Most disappointing ride ever! Its like the people who would rank Whizzer over Goliath and Raging Bull at Great America! (i seen it in youtube comments). Mine trains dont do it for me....sorry :/ Its probably more fun to take your car and do crazy donuts in an empty field....lol -
^ I heard back in the day when my mom was young they had an indoor amusement park here in Chicago called Old Chicago. It was kind of like Mall of America. I really wish it was still around today it would be nice to get an amusement park fix all while GA is closed down for the winter. Chicago winters do suck and often seem to last forever....

Rank Your Home Park's Coasters
storms555 replied to Imagineer Josh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd be careful of falling down the stairs into the enthusiast mindset. Vekoma's aren't all bad. Ask an enthusiast to rip apart one of the Disney Vekomas and they'll call you a moron. Yet they'll turn around and rip the company a new bunghole on other installations. Most of which they've never rode in all likelihood. Form your own opinions on rollercoasters. If you fall into the enthusiast mindset almost nothing will meet expectations. You'll find that 3/4 of most parks should be burned to the ground according to most. Your mind will be made up before you get on a ride, and IMHO that sucks the fun out of this hobby. Exploring isn't as fun if you know the result ahead of time. Oh ok i see. Yea i mean i did enjoy the Boomerang at Darien Lake when i went back in the summer of 2005. I though it was a lot of fun! Yet i notice many enthusiasts put that type of coaster very low on the totem pole....I loved how i was going up backyards and seeing the ground get farther and farther. It sure builds up adrenaline. I also liked how when i went through the loops the restraints came slightly loose giving you the feeling like you are going to fall. It made for a scary(in a fun way) ride. Not saying they are the "OMG best coasters ever!!"but still they arnt as bad as people say they are and are pretty fun. -
I kind of agree on that fact, but I would do anything to bring back Discovery Zone! oh yea i agree DZ was awesome! In a way DZ was a lot more fun then a lot of todays FECs. Bumper boats,go-carts,batting cages, mini golf, rope courses, rock walls you know that typical FEC stuff is just ok but take a lot of concentration, some skills, being in shape(which im not lol)and dont have much adrenaline like thrill rides do and are just "meh" where as DZ was just nice free unstructured play. That City Museum that many talk about reminds me of a DZ for big kids and grown ups. Id like to go there one day....lol If i go to typical FECs i go for the arcade games lol.
