Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

If you arrive at park opening you will have relatively minor waits up until about 4pm. The twilight admission kicks in then and there will be a huge wave of guests arriving. 6pm is when the scary stuff starts to kick in. By 8:30 if you're not interested in haunt stuff then probably best to leave as the park becomes difficult to navigate without going through it. -
After completing a night at FF I think my biggest complaint is how the mazes don't seem planned out that well. I guess since I'm used to the CF version of mazes where there is one central theme and it is carried out through the entire maze, what SF does is just a hodgepodge of props that doesn't really fit together. Camp is probably the only exception but since it is so wide open it's not scary at all. Also what is with those stupid balloons that you have to walk between? 3 had them.
-
Well I hope the other 4 mazes are better than the first two I went through THE SLAUGHTER HOUSE Relies way too heavily on compressed air blasts. I found the "balloons" you had to walk through to be more annoying than anything. The "window" effect was kind of cool but killed by the talent in the room. BLACK OUT Is the dark supposed to be scary? Enjoy walking through an old theatre in the dark. That's about it. I don't know about others but when I am forced to use my other senses to see where I'm going the whole "fear" aspect is gone. It becomes one of annoyance more than anything. The talent in this maze are armed with flashlight things. Is sudden light supposed to scare you?

Asylum Island is constantly ranked as one of the top haunts by guests through random surveys conducted by the park. While there has been talks in the past of building a permanent building for the attraction, those have gone quiet the last few years. I would expect that AI will have quite a few more years before it goes away -

The only thing that was fun about Le Carousel was when you would overload one side of the carousel and it would cause it to hop violently -

Le Carousel has already been removed from the park. Received confirmation today that it has been sold to another park and thus will not be returning next season in a new location. Fjord Fjairlane's location for next year is still up in the air. No word on if it will need to be moved for new gate area as renderings are still pending. -

From the video the PR guy posted most of Scandinavia is going to change. All of the Tivoli catering pavilions, Balkaan Bazaar, current gate, ticket booths, customer service, first aid - for sure is coming out. Fjord Fjairlane and Plaza Gifts could be removed as well. Still think Fjord Fjairlane should be moved to Europa. 2017 is going to be an exciting year for the park. -

Based on this information I would bet that the path will be cut off at the walkway under the train bridge (by the BBQ place) and somewhere on that path by Octopus (maybe a little further down, maybe up near the restrooms. That way you can easily cut the paths and you have those 2 coasters, the kids area and a bunch of flats. They also have the train if they want it and Timber Wolf if they want it (doubtful). The kids area was a given so you had to know that all of the paths leading back to it would be open. This sounds pretty sensible to me. Europa will be open so they can use Moulin Rouge. -

It is actually being run by LC's. They brought in their own employees and everything. I also imagine that if you're not a Northlander this means absolutely squat to you as you probably never even heard of LC's. -

Not trying to start a war but I personally feel WOF's is the gold standard for the chain I see what you mean about that. Im just kinda bored about the overlord thing. I think VF's is unique in the very least Does VF at least have a parade of monsters through the park after the awakening? -

I looked on their webpage (and could have very well missed it) but is there a pass that you can purchase to visit each of the mazes or do you have to pay per play? Thinking of giving the park a chance during FF just to see if they have upped their game since the last time I visited during that festival

I don't get why we are even giving this guy the time of day. He's probably wanking off to all of the attention you guys are giving him on here -- because we ALL KNOW he is a lurker. No one goes out of their way to make a video like this 2 years after being banned. Are we even convinced he doesn't have another account? I would wager he does.

Yeah it was strange that WOF teased it. I would imagine it will be a chain wide thing for next year. I would imagine FunPix will also be moving that way soon as well. -

He said on Facebook in a reply that the renderings for both the new front gate and catering facilities will be released later (or as soon as they give them to him) -

Wouldn't they also announce that with the main announcements too though? Did they announce the closing of WWK after the press release or before? Yes the announcement that WWK was closing came on the Friday after the main announcements
