  1. Um... Mack extreme spinner. There's also parts already on site as it seems the park is doing the painting instead of Mack That is the curreent rumour, yes. "Rumoured" and "known" are not at all similar. When you do, you have to ride the Runaway, Branson's new alpine coaster. It's fantastic. You said there was no information about the project which is incorrect. There's plenty out there.

  3. Lines will be bad in Oceans but not too bad in Worlds as it will probably be hot AF by then. There are several motels across 435 from the park.
  4. I don't know what the insurance company would know, but they could be a theme park insurance company. Lots of people do talk about those cars. My last visit we were behind a family walking up the stairs to the station and the parents were telling their kids about the backwards cars, but it wasn't until their turn to ride that they realized they were gone. Basically the manufacturer never built the train intending it to be run backwards thus there is more liability on the park if something goes wrong. If the train is run as intended by the manufacturer then there is shared liability
  5. Because IF they're adding a coaster for 2018, then the project would have been in the works for at least a year. What the other parks do has little to no effect on what WOF adds each year.
  6. I wouldn't expect a new coaster directly after the huge season that 2017 is panning out to be. Except they spread the 2017 additions over two fiscal years so it's really not that big. Sounds like the coaster (Premier Rocket II) and maybe one of the two used Tornado slides are coming in 2018. 2018 is shaping up to be a big year in MO with new coasters at other 2 parks in the state.
  7. I personally find SDC to be the type of place that would be amazing to visit even if it didn't have rides. So yes, I think being open was definitely worth it. Absolutely. When I was a kid, and there were no roller coasters and all the biggest rides were water rides, basically during the Christmas festival the train was it, and it was still a fantastic time. Even if I didn't live close enough to have a season pass, I'd totally pay to go during the Christmas festival just for the pleasure of walking around all day. Honestly, walking around and seeing all the lights and decorations is the main draw of this season. An Old Time Christmas has only been going on since 1993. They did 2 years of "12 Days of Christmas" before that. ThuNderaTion opened in 1993 and was open for the first An Old Time Christmas. Fire in the Hole has been open for all o the Christmas Festivals.
  8. Yes it is an upgrade but I HATE the impact font of the logo they're using now. I wish they'd go back to the traditional. I'm curious how the ticket booths will look since this is only the gate.
  9. The weekend of the ice storm, admission was discounted. All shows except Dickens were showing - Dickens was not showing because Bob Crachet's wife IRL had a medical emergency and was rushed to St. Louis. He did not have an understudy at that time. Saturday the park closed early, but Sunday it was open the entire day.
  10. WOF - Patriot SDC - PowderKeg SFSTL - Mr. Freeze or Batman
  11. Both parks hit capacity today. 40K in both. It was crowded but the way my group navigated the parks we still got a lot done. Side note, I really enjoy the new Kong ride. It's a nice 1-2 punch for Islands of Adventure. It's about on par with Gringotts in my book.
  12. Went to BGT today for the first time in several years. Wow! This park needs to work on its infrastructure. It definitely cannot handle crowds the size that they endure during "Peak Week". We went ahead and got basic Quick Queue and it's a good thing we did otherwise we'd still be standing in line for Cheetah Hunt (which is an amazing coaster BTW). I know it's been awhile since I've been to BGT, but I could have sworn the quality gap wasn't as big between it and BGW as it seems to be now. Also, was underwhelmed with Cobra's Curse. Much shorter in real life than I guess I was expecting (and yes I've seen the POV). Montu was kick ass though. Back to my favorite inverted.
  13. Actually appears like there has been quite a bit done in the valley and more terraces built since you took your photos.
  14. Looks like footers are continuing to show up on the construction site for the new coaster http://tinyurl.com/SDC2018-dec2016 Discussion around the interweb pretty much has this being a Mack launched spinner coaster. Not sure how I feel about that, but I think it will be a quality addition to the park's line up. Wish the park would give us some details.
  15. Sound so like no Dickens today as many of the cast members are out sick. As for rides only Flooded Mine, Fire in the Hole and Train are running.
  16. Tomorrow is very iffy too. I'd recommend checking social media before heading out
  17. Imma gonna stop you right there. The best Skyride is at Adventureland. Hands down AND I'm not sure CP's is better than CGA's. Pretty sure CGA's is longer
  18. If I had to guess, I would believe that this new swing ride would replace Delirium. I'd be more than happy to let WOF take Delirium off their hands
  19. Valravn is fun, but it's not SheiKra. Same thing with Raptor - it's not Montu. There are pretty much better versions of most of the coasters at CP - BUT you would have to travel all over to experience those coasters, whereas at CP you get a "quality" version of most styles of coaster and how can you not like that? I can't believe I am agreeing with Prozach, but CP is definitely to the point where it is almost too saturated with coasters. I like most of the coasters there, but if those coasters were ANYWHERE else they'd be the star attraction whereas at CP they sort of get lost.
  20. SFSTL is the stereotypical "babysitter" park during the summer. He won't be the only teenager dropped off at the park for the day. I'd suggest getting him the meal plan too so he's covered for meals for the day as well.
  21. Well they are having to build the replacement catering pavilions somewhere. I imagine most of this will BOH stuff
  22. If they had a sliding station, it would have to go around twice. There needs to be enough time to load the other train and have it ready as soon as one train stops on the track. That's the reason Zombie Ride goes around twice. I'm failing to see the problem with that.
  23. The permit for an aerial ride in Planet Snoopy is interesting
