  1. I really wanted to, was waiting to see if I got the new job I applied for (I didn't) and if I did I would have registered. But now it's too late anyway.
  2. ^ See, now this is where I highly disagree with this whole "Magic Mountain Demographic" thing. The same people who go to SFMM also go to USH, Knott's, Disney, etc. And they act up at those places as much if not more than SFMM. I can't remember the last time I encountered any kind of problem at SFMM other than line-cutting, but again, that happens everywhere. People in general are a-holes, not just at SFMM. I actually think that if SFMM had stuck with trying to be more family friendly it would have eventually worked. But it wasn't going to happen overnight and I'm not sure why they expected it to.
  3. It's still going to be crazy at DL. Plus they'll stop serving alcohol at 2am at DCA. FAIL!!! But yeah, EPCOT makes sense especially since the Mike thing is on SSE.
  4. ^ LOL!!! ^^ As was explained a few pages ago, SFMM tried to go back to the family friendly dynamic about 5-6 years go but by that time it was too late. You can't concentrate on the "Xtreme" for so many years and expect families to start coming back. If they had actually stuck with it I'd imagine we'd be seeing a very different SFMM and very different rides going in the last few years. But they didn't stick with it because it didn't work quickly enough.
  5. I love the Gibson but I'm seeing a LOT of bitching on FB about it's closure. I've been to a few shows there the past few years and only 1 band consistently sold out every seat and that was Rush. Paul Simon and YES couldn't even fill 1/2 the venue. You'd think it was the most popular venue in the world the way people are complaining about it closing.
  6. I actually like both, but the most important thing to me is that the ride is actually fun. For example, Goliath at SFMM. It has a cool first drop and a little bit of "floater" airtime on the 2nd hill but that's about it. The rest of the ride is a total miss for me. I used to love it until I started riding other better coasters. On the flip side if you look at a ride like Nitro or even Goliath at SFOG, they both have some nice floater airtime but are also fun layouts and fun rides. On the ejector side, If you look at rides like El Toro, Phoenix, and I305, it's not just the crazy ejector airtime that makes these rides. It's that they are great layouts and are just flat out fun.
  7. I love it. I don't think it takes away from the Winter Classic because it's not really part of the Winter Classic. The games are far enough removed from the Winter Classic to not interfere, this gives more fans the chance to see an outdoor game and will be a great media opportunity for the league. Having two outdoor games in NYC the week the Super Bowl is there is going to be huge.
  8. ^ Nice to see one of the X2 trains getting some love. Hope the other train comes back online soon.
  9. ^ Agreed. Was at the game, fun game, some bad calls (on both sides really) but the game shouldn't have been that close.
  10. I love Theme Parks. Some "Amusement Parks" are great when they have other things to do other than coasters. I like a well-rounded park. A couple of great coasters, a few middle-of the road coasters, some family rides, a nice collection of flat rides, a dark ride or two, maybe a monorail, train or sky ride and 2-3 good water rides. That's my ideal park.
  11. Chrissy Amphlett from the Divinyls. Breast Cancer AND MS. What a crappy way to go. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/04/22/chrissy-amphett-dead-divinyls-lead-singer-was-53/
  12. Weekdays are good for me. That's what vacation days and flex work schedules are for. As long as there is enough notice before, which I know there would be.
  13. I personally don't have an issue with franchise tie-ins for rides but I'm really trying to think of the last time Disney made a dark ride/attraction that didn't have some kind of movie tie-in. And now HKDL has two such attractions in the same year. I guess technically ToT in Tokyo would count as the last one and Mission:Space before that? So two every decade?
  14. ^ Good news. Wonder if they at least cleaned the projector lens while it was closed.
  15. Looks totally awesome. The trackless ride system REALLY needs to come to the US. The ride seems like a cross between Haunted Mansion, Tiki Room and a bit of Sorcerers Apprentice sprinkled in for good measure.
  16. When we rode GA Scorcher at DSB a couple of years ago I thought it was holding up VERY well. Last time I rode Riddlers was last year (I think) and it totally bashed my head. And don't even get me started on Green Lantern at SFGAdv. I love the layout of Riddlers, it was once one of my favorite rides in the park but no more. I really wish they'd put sit-down trains on it.
  17. Why should this be any different at a themepark? Are you saying that because it's not a restaurant it's ok for the bathrooms to not be clean and that is acceptable? Yea lets admit it, everyone probably poops at a park every time or almost every time we go , personally I perfer to have atleast a regular nice toilet/bathroom, not a YOLOinfected toilet, walls, floor, ect. Im not saying they need to get on their knees and clean the floor tiles with a tooth brush, just keep it average. Its not rocket science, its called a mop Speaking personally, I honestly can't remember one time where I've at a theme park. Let alone "every visit". And I'd hate to ever have to take one at SFMM.

  19. ^ What Joey said. Nothing quite like watching professional players from field level. Supposed to be a nice ballpark in Washington as well.
  20. ^ Funny enough, we had T-Mobile for YEARS and when I'd travel for work or to Disneyland, WDW, etc I had a lot of friends who couldn't get coverage but I could always get coverage with T-Mobile. Sadly the only place I couldn't get coverage was within a 2-mile radius around my house. Giving the kids phones for emergencies and them not being able to use them at school was the reason we went to Verizon. If we didn't have that issue chances are we'd still be with them.
  21. ^ Even as a CA Native I've never gotten the whole In N Out thing. It's decent, better than a lot of other "Fast Food" places but Californian's have a false sense of what is good. In N Out fanboys are almost as bad as Disneyland fanboys. I actually prefer The Habit over In N Out or Five Guys if I'm being honest.
  22. ^ I like the new colors of Batman personally. I think repainting Scream and Tatsu would need to take priority over all of those. I'd also love it if they got new trains on Revolution and Gold Rusher (allowing GR to go back to a 42" height requirement). I would honestly LOVE to see the park shut down from Fright Fest to Spring Break and do a complete repainting/rehabbing of all of the buildings on site. I'd be more than willing to sacrifice a few months of the park being open and not getting a new coaster if that was going to happen. Unfortunately that's a minority position and it's not going to bring any people into the park the way a new coaster will.
  23. ^ Have you not ridden it recently? It hasn't had a rehab since it reopened.
