  1. I'm wondering how long it will be until the purple train is operational. Hopefully when it is, they'll allow you wait for a requested row again.
  2. Haha, that's a good idea. It seems most visitors to this park can't seem to listen to the person shouting over the loudspeaker. Hopefully, they'll fix whatever issues the purple train is having as soon as possible. Although, I worry the instant that it's placed on the track, the green will be taken off.
  3. I've found both front and back to be equally intense for different reasons. The middle seems to be the least intense for me.
  4. Is it because the back seat is the best or because the front is so loud?
  5. I assume it's a gym in Pokemon Go. Sure wish I had a smartphone that was able to run it. But the game destroys battery life (screen, gps, wireless data and potentially bluetooth all on) so you'd pretty much need to bring a battery bank. It just crashes on my phone. It's probably for the best. I can focus on Joker instead.
  6. I honestly thought that when V2 was down so long, but now if they're putting it back it might be a while again before they decide to have it down long enough for a repaint and retheme. Flash makes total sense but I'm gonna call it now for Batman. SFDK is like the only Six Flags park without a coaster named Batman. Plus Batman next to Joker kinda makes sense. Unless we actually get one of those Free-Fly coasters in the next few years and that one is named Batman? It's not a true Six Flags park until it gets a Batman: The Ride.
  7. It's expected, but it seems unlikely that it will receive it this year. With the refurbishment seemingly almost over and no visible change to the ride, station, or sign, it doesn't seem to be happening yet.
  8. Joker is definitely a more intense ride than Twisted Colossus. Even being rather short, it manages to pack in a lot of thrilling moments before it reaches the brake run. V2's train was almost completely assembled on Tuesday when I went. The restraints were on the ground, but it looked like every seat was attached. Employees worked in the station all day. Hopefully this means it will be open soon.
  9. Even being normal, the sound is very loud. I could hear it from the parking lot. It's coming from the front, and in the front car, you really feel the vibration. It's not annoying, though. It ran perfectly today. No breakdowns and it operated with at most a 20 minute wait all day. Yes, still normal. Was very loud on TC when it opened too. It will die down with more cycles. Oh, I know it will. Although, I kind of wish it wouldn't. The roar it makes seemingly advertises the ride to every corner of the park.

  11. I'm currently planning to go on July 5th to use a free friend entry coupon. I'd like Joker to have two trains running by then, but it seems unlikely at this point.
  12. Apparently, management wants to make up for the Joker's lackluster opening.
  13. Well, it's better than nothing, I guess. Last time I was there, trains were constantly leaving half full.
  14. It has a single rider line now? Do they still manage to dispatch the train with half of the seats empty?
  15. A cylinder that they use for the restraints has changed since last year's model. It was apparently found that a manufacturing defect occurred on on Lightning Rod's trains, and based on the issues Joker's been having, it might be affecting Joker's trains, too.
  16. Thanks! Now I'm curious what exactly was discovered with that part to warrant a recall. Here's hoping it was something minor, like a seal that was wearing out quicker than expected. Yeah, I don't know the specifics, but I heard that the problem was really bothersome for the restraints on Joker, as well as Lightning Rod. Kolmården said that they found no issues on Wildfire, but it's better safe than sorry. Whether or not a faulty cylinder has been the cause of issues on the Joker has not been confirmed. (As far as I know. Please correct me if I'm wrong) It does seem very likely to be the cause, though.
  17. It was mainly I believe rows 5 and 6 on the green train having that problem, so avoid those. I have kinda big legs too and I sat in the back row without a problem, so aim for that. It's the best row anyway. I don't think the purple train has the same issue for whatever reason because when I was there last time I never saw it once happen on purple but even that day I heard ride ops talking about restraint issues with the green train. Oh, that's a relief. I've only ridden in the back row and loved it, so it's good to know that it's functioning. If I recall correctly, the purple train had a row or two in the middle unavailable during the Season Pass previews.
  18. Well, public humiliation IS a great deterrent. When you say that the restraints were being temperamental, do you mean that the sensors monitoring them were giving false warnings? Not false, just that they were constantly reading unsecure and causing rechecks and walks of shame. The ops were telling people who had to get off not to feel bad because apparently the sensors were requiring the restraints to be at a very small size to read ok to dispatch. Sounds like they need some adjustment, especially as it seemed to be more prevalent in certain rows. Well, that worries me. Most of my bulk is in my legs, and I'm still not large enough for a walk of shame. I hope this is fixed quickly.

  20. Awesome. I'll have to head back over there soon! I've been waiting for them to finally get it running again.
  21. Scratch that. RMC today has ordered all coasters with RMC trains to be closed until further notice for a part recall. Too bad, Joker was just starting to get running again. I wonder if the parts giving Joker all this trouble for the past few weeks is the one that was recalled. (For source see the SFMM thread.) This ride seems to to be becoming a bad luck charm. Every time it gets fixed, something else happens. The website doesn't list Joker as closed (Along with the other Six Flags rides running RMC trains) though, so either they didn't receive the news in time to update the website, or they don't believe it's an immediate danger.
