  1. Last I checked, the ground was flattened. Although, that's been that way since the opening of Joker.
  2. Honestly, I like the system the way it is now. If you manage your time properly, you can get quite a few fastpasses in a single day. Whereas in Florida, you can get three when the day starts, but can't get anymore until those have been used, making it highly unlikely that you'll be able to get any others. When Disney inevitably brings Fastpass+ westward, I hope they adjust it to allow for possibly obtaining another Fastpass before the current one is used.
  3. I wouldn't know. It's either been closed or running with only one train everytime I've been there since it reopened.
  4. I eat my weight in cheeseburgers daily due to a fear of looking healthy.
  5. I guess I'm the only person hat liked it better with the 3D. Oh, well. Maybe they'll add the projection effect of the dementor sucking out your soul to the Hollywood version, now.
  6. I hope it's not exactly the same. I find the one in Florida a pain to use. The paper system is still better, in my opinion.
  7. It also doesn't help that it's so close to other parks that have been known for being clean and family-centered for a long time. Why would local families choose to go to Magic Mountain when Disneyland and Knott's has more for their children to do and have good reputations? It's a shame, because the park, for the most part, seems to have been steadily improving over the past decade and they're unable to see much of a return for it.
  8. You sure about that? Whizzer here at Great America has gotten much MUCH more popular over the last few years. People really appreciate a family coaster But then we probably have more families at Great America. If they promoted it right, I think it would be a big hit. Magic Mountain seems to get more thrill seekers than families. While I'm sure reverting to lap bars certainly helped Revolution's attendance, most visitors probably wouldn't care about it unless it does have a gimmick to keep it "unique".
  9. ^ Considering that the park would be closed if they didn't take over, I'd say it's definitely an improvement. The entire reason Six Flags was brought in was because the zoo was failing.
  10. Wow. This park would have almost nothing in terms of roller coasters had they not purchased the land where the current parking lot is.
  11. This reminds me of one of The Californian skits that referenced Magic Mountain. How fitting that it applies to this conversation.
  12. I think it would be hilarious if they simply opened it without announcing anything. Just to irk coaster enthusiasts. Yeah, but then there would be a line of enthusiasts waiting to beat the crap out of the Cedar Point executives a la Airplane You have no idea how happy I am that you made that reference.

  14. Tasmanian Devil and Hammerhead are kind of fun. I usually end up riding Skyscreamer and Dare Devil, but if you've already been to other Six Flags parks, you've probably already been on them. You might find it best to stick to Joker for most of the day, but a day spent riding an RMC is a day well spent! (At least it is to me)
  15. 1. Being that it's the Veteran's Day weekend, it's possible that it will be crowded, but I'm not sure. Typically, uneventful weekends in November are fairly empty, so maybe you'll get lucky. 2. Here's a list of the events currently scheduled: https://www.sixflags.com/discoverykingdom/special-events 3. Head to Superman first, as the line for that ride moves painfully slow, then ride Joker and V2. Ride Medusa whenever you feel like it. Medusa and Joker are very re-rideable due to having fast moving queues.
  16. I'm just going to put this here: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2016/03/15/study-l-a-has-worst-traffic-in-america/ Regardless, it is possible to make it from Knott's to Magic Mountain in under two hours, not including any extra time for an unpredictable traffic jam. (Like from an accident) Of course, if Magic Mountain is the focus of the trip, it would just be easier (And possibly cheaper) to stay closer to Valencia.
  17. I fully expect something along the lines of Top Thrill Cubster or Cubbie Force. Cub Streak.
  18. What if Cleveland wins and Six Flags chooses to name rename Cedar Point's new 2016 RMC, lol. The New Iron Twisted Streak Presented by M&M's
  19. Both Twisted Colossus and Joker had fun pre-lift sections because the original rides had a long section of track before the lift hill. It would have been a waste if they had simply left it boring. Now if both of those rides had their lift hill right next to the station, then they most likely would have also had an uneventful pre-lift like the other RMC's.
  20. That only applies East of the Mississippi River (And I believe Japan, too. I could be wrong about that, though). Disneyland can do whatever they please.
