Just got back from the park, the crowds are hanging in there. Waited 45 minutes for Lightning Run, with 1 car and 40 minutes for Thunder Run. Skycatcher opened this weekend, looks like it's well loved, it was packed all day. Everything is looking great around the park. They've replaced some of the Black Chain Link Fencing with regular fencing and the Landscaping is looking great. I took a few pics of the new things this week, since I posted some others last week. Cyclos is coming along, for a May 23 rd opening Lightning Run and Prof. Johns Flying Machines have a new Neighbor. Cyclos is moving in Skycatcher sets between the Picnic Pavilions and The Wikiwikiw Wai Slide complex. Rio Grande is now in King Louies Playland.

Thunderbird, last Friday night -
Just got back from the park. it was a very busy day. Didn't ride anything, as the lines were long, so I just walked around and took a few pics on my phone. The new rides that are open now are: The Enterprise, Up, Up and Away plus the Wizard of Oz is now playing in the 5D theater ride. Sky Catcher opens next weekend, with the remainder of the new rides opening May 23rd. I took a few pics that I'll post here. Glad to have the park back open, sometimes it's nice to just go for a couple of hours and walk around. They have the main frame down for Cyclos. Up, Up and Away is located in The Rainbows old spot. The Enterprise has returned. A 12 minute version of The Wizard of Oz, is playing in the 5D Theater. Sky Catcher, will set between the Picnic Pavilion's and Hurricane Bay

Went to preview night, last night. I was in group A, we got in line at 5:20 and was on the ride around 6. Rode front left, as all the employees I asked said that was the best seat and they weren't lying. Holiday World has a winner with this and will put them on the map. Thunderbird in the dark is awesome, flying through the dark woods. Our last ride we got in line at 9:45, with the Queue 3/4 full and 1 break down we finally boarded front right at 11:10. So my guess is with the queue full, all the way to the entrance, will be about a 2 hour wait. When we rode The Voyage, the trims barely braked us, so it was really unnoticeable. The Legend is running better than it has in years and The Raven is still one of the best. Can't wait to go back, Thunderbird Ice Cream is the BOMB! Was sporting my TPR shirt -

I can't wait, to ride it tomorrow night, after hearing great things about it. I'm so excited about my first rides being, mostly, in the dark. -

^ I know what your saying, Apr.24th can't come quick enough. -
Maybe they just recently sold them and they've put them there for easier access? I don't think we'll see a return of TTD, or any use for the GL trains, so why keep them. Does make you think though,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Another note though, I received my 2015 Season Pass, to the Kingdom, in the mail today. Now I have a Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World and Louisville Zoo Pass, going to be a busy summer.

I think 2016 addition will be something in the old Giraffica/Pilgrims Plunge spot. Maybe a Splash Battle. -

They said they will start testing in Feb., weather permitting, hopefully they can. That will give them at least 2 months to get the kinks worked out, before opening day. I will be there April 24th, for Season Pass holders preview day, to check it out. I'm ready for Spring, can't wait to ride Thunderbird! Another thing, did anyone see Holiday Worlds tweet today. It is a Merry Christmas video, but they said in the Tweet, to not miss the " Coffee Cup", in the beginning. From what I could read, it read " The Polar Expresso", what could that mean? -

I think it is Sparkler, the one pic in the blog, looks like the base foundation when they where building it. Don't know what they would retheme it to, but there are numerous themes to choose from. -

Beech Bend Park announces 5 New Rides and Park improvements for next Year. A Zamperla Air Race, Flying Carousel, Monster Truck ride for kids and 2 new models of the Sizzler and the Tornado. Sounds like a good line up for them. http://www.beechbend.com/AmusementPictures2015/Press%20Release%20Update%2012-6-14.pdf#page=1&zoom=auto,-1,783 -

I've been watching videos today of Thunderbird and I've come to the conclusion, that this, will put Holiday World on the map. Will, would be so proud, this is epic for Holiday World. The way they built this up, with the 66 days to guess and speculate, in regards to the New World and something they never did before. I can't wait til April 24th to go ride this, I know it will blow my mind! -
How Often Do You Go To Your Local Park?
ratdogg68 replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My local parks are now Holiday World, 65 miles from my house and Kentucky Kingdom which is only 10 miles from my house. I had been getting a Holiday World pass and going monthly, but I got a Kentucky Kingdom pass this year. I went to Kentucky Kingdom almost every week it was open and only went to Holiday World in Oct. I already got my pass for both parks next summer, should be a busy one.
