I noticed when looking at the rides page on the website that the sideshow kid coaster aka the veggie tales coaster in country fair is NOT listed. I wonder if they are moving it up to Thunderhead or if they are just getting rid of the old one?

Both kids have lawyers that are the ones you go to when in deep trouble. They are pretty good at getting guilty folks off. They also started the fires far away and someone said since the park service didn't go full out on the fire the first couples of days that they could say it should not have ever gotten that big. As for me I want to see them under the jail for a long time, but this one will not be a clean open and shut case. I'm been born and raised in the shadow of these hills and they will probably ask for a move of trail due to getting a fair shot.

Also maybe a special Christmas Celebration at the park. Plus the ride.

Here are some pictures of Dollywood today. The smoke from the National Park fire is really bad right now. (Photo credit Mike Smiley Facebook) On another note the news said Dollywood trains has been down since 11-17 due to the dry conditions. It been over 144 days since we have had a inch of rain in one day. Pray for rain and the folks in the way of the smoke and fire. Dreammore is not doing any fire pits right now either.

I don't hate them but they normally have next year's ride info on them or Dolly.

I noticed when I went that that the 2017 Dollywood Refillable Mug is one of the plainest mugs I seen them produce. No Picture of Dolly or the new rides for next year. They are black and have the Lightning Rod logo on it and Dollywood all in silver print. Makes me wonder if the 2 new rides for next year might have been a last minute decision.

I've had the chance to ride Lightning Rod during the day at least 10 times this year, but this was my first night ride and it is a game changer. WOW you can't see anything and it's awesome! Me and my daughter got 2 rides in on roll 3 and 7! The coaster was very smooth with no pothole or anything. They did run both trains empty one time around right before we got on. The ride attendant said maintenance wants that done every two hours. Fingers crossed that they have everything worked out.

Just got to dollywood and both trains are running on lightning rod. 30 minute wait. Parking all the way back in F.

I got theses pictures from the dipin dots guy who got them from someone that took pictures behind the park of some new flat rides for next year!!!!! Rumor has this going in the place of Timber Tower Near Mtn. Sidewinder Near Lightning Rod

It's not really bad shape, but they could change out a few rides to say they updated it. Also wouldn't be surprised if they didnt add another family ride near thunderhead or up near mountain slidewinder. They need a few more family ride throughout the park.

Any update from anyone on lightning rod? Looks like it been closed at least 7 days in a roll now. I noticed they rescheduled thrills in the hills for November 19th to go along with the coaster fest they do every year during Christmas. No lines today. WOW

I would do Thursday October 6th be there at opening. If not do Thursday October 6th at 3p and get Friday free.

How I would like to be there right now. 5pm on Wednesday and not a 1 minute wait. WOW!!!!

I wonder if the waterpark slide accident in KC is one reason they aren't making a big deal about it right now. Talking about having a tallest slide in the park is probably not what they want to highlight right now. In other news, the cave and property around it are probably 2018 and beyond for the park. I could see the cave split off in to the new land near the old arcade. I noticed the other day when I road LR that the crew grabbed the strap on the side of the restraint and pulled up on it to make sure it was locked.

Looks like a lot of room to grow! You could go all the way to the eagle sanctuary. Not sure of the grading of the land, but it could be a good place for a new family section. They also might have roon for a new park hotel some place on the land , if it goes all the way to the road. Maybe a eagle themed hotel. Who knows????

Lightning Rod has that effect on a lot of people.
